But the term was invented by a woman in 1997 to describe her situation. The first "incel" was a woman, she created a forum and invited people to her project. She stopped identifying as one when she moved on, so I guess it was a phase.
Celibacy was historically used to describe voluntary abstinence and not in this way. "Involuntary celibacy" would mean being forced to choose celibacy.
Chumps are funny... but "incels" are a threat. We should go back to using AFC.

Something I started doing when I was a broke university student all those years ago was offering hobos actual food, like a granola bar or a tuna pouch or a ziplock bag with mixed nuts.

As TRP theory goes, women tend to project their own preferences in men onto themselves thinking, for example, lots of tattoos makes a woman hot because she finds tattoos hot on men.
In this case, perhaps all her demands shows she's "confident" which is what they crave in men plus it also helps to distract away from her liabilities which becomes a PLUS! A REAL man whose CONFIDENT would welcome all of the CHALLENGES she presents him. REAL men LOVE shit tests!
In addition to the above, it's amusing how single mothers who probably spend most of their time scrolling through tiktok videos are too lazy to filter through the majority of responses they get which are bound to be full of "losers" who are anything less than top 5% men. It's also a statistical reminder how bad her odds are so to avoid these painful questions, she asks the men to ONLY present the top men so she can then feel like she's choosing from the entrees at Ruth's Chris versus the mall food court.
This is also a genius move on her part (really!) in that, let's be honest, there are hundreds of men who right-swipe regardless of what the woman says so when, repeat when, a decent guy responds to her she can act like the victim in that he's only 5'10" and didn't "read" and is lucky to be on a date with her and order (at his expense) a full takeout bag for some other man's brood.

I just want to reemphasize this point. This is what is happening to western women. They emulate and imitate what they find attractive thinking the whole birds of a feather analogy is going to work. Besides tattoos, you see the stereotypical bad ass boss babe bitch that's not afraid to get into your face, not realizing just how unattractive that behavior really is to most men. You also see that with women with degrees or high profile jobs. They think having a degree or a flashy job will impress men because that is what impresses her. There are plenty of manosphere vids on jootube where the man tell her that men DO NOT CARE about her Masters, PhD, prestigious job and watch the befuddlement, denial and meltdown.

I'm not sure if it's true or not, but supposedly Studio 54 hit upon an ingenious marketing campaign of The Velvet Rope and excluding people from the club and long lines to give an aura of status and desirability or "playing hard to get". Los Angeles and other nightclubs soon followed with $200 "bottle service" fees and such where people felt they were getting more if they paid more.
To their credit, it sometimes works. A childhood friend of mine who literally had thousands of hot girls lusting after him was snared by a hard-to-get average looking girl who played hard-to-get. It astonished us. Pay $5000 for a handbag that costs $600 to make. People go for that stuff.
What's funny, though, is that Studio 54 and the handbag manufacturers did make a quality product. The handbags are made from top end materials and when a 22 year old virgin plays hard-to-get, who knows? That can work. It's tough to pull this kind of game with a 1997 Ford Escort though.
