Jesus. I wonder if there will ever be a cultural change. We have birth control pills. How do you get pregnant twice at such a young age, presumably out of wedlock? How?
Why don't mothers teach their daughters to use the pill? How is this possible?

Because single moms only know how to breed single moms. If there was a dad in the house, he'd be having "The Talk" with Junior, and letting him know that if he got his little girl pregnant, he would *oils double-barrel shotgun* blow that thing off.

Her being pregnant at 21 wouldn't be a problem as long as she were married. It would be laudable, in fact. The idea in most Western cultures that one's late teens or early 20s is too early to be having children is a significant part of the problem.
Also, the profligation of hormonal birth control and the fact it's routinely pushed on adolescent girls who've no business even thinking about having sex yet is it's own monster and has caused it's own problems via knock-on effects and unforseen consequences.
Frankly, the pill should be tightly restricted to short-term use based on particular circumstances. It should never have been approved for general consumption, let alone allowed to become a cultural institution.
Many of our current social woes have their root in the Enlightenment, the Industrial Revolution or both, but the reliable decoupling of sex from pregnancy in the '60s really kicked the decline into high gear.

I understand traditional rules, sure. My mother got married at 20 to my dad and is still married. I was born 2 years after my parents got married. So my mother was 22 when i was born.
There may be some downsides to birth control but in a individualistic society, you need the pill. Most women are not going to get married at 20-23 years old even if they have a great man available.
So the least women can do is get on the damn pill.

@woodsmoke My theory is that it wasn't only the pill, but also the notion of women no longer considering marriage to be an imperative in their 20's to focus on "having a career" or "waiting for the right man" to approach and game her. I lost my virginity to a corporate nun virgin who was 10 years my senior (she was 31). Most Awkward Sex Ever yet quite memorable.
The great selling point of feminism was the notion they could do what "men" (namely, top 5% men, or "real men") did and have sex only with hot people. It wasn't only The Pill but also this notion of entitlement that they didn't "need" men so they could just make demands of men without any gratitude or reciprocity.
Up to the end of The Golden Era of feminism, say, 1990, it was possible for a Gen Xer girl to find a plentiful supply of Boomer men to marry up into while they got affirmative action jobs and affordable housing, education, healthcare, and cars. You name it. It was like Pax Romana. They'd slut it up in high school or college and then go out with a beta male who asked them out at work.
Then the 1990's happened: The gradual collapse economically, Anita Hill and 20 years later, MeToo, and the hyper LGBT that kicked in.
MAGA seems to have elements that finally are in tune with what the real problem is versus the Reagan conservatives and Libertarians whose heads are in the ground like ostriches. Is it too late though?

At worst it gave rise to social changes with predictable friction. But, it spared humanity from a devastating population bomb from modern medicine at last making it normal for two of 6 children to survive to reproductive age. Before this, several pregnancies per woman was a survival imperative for the human race. With modern medicine, limiting it to average slightly below two per woman is the new species survival imperative.

My paternal grandmother was amazing. She only had 2 pregnancies, but she was amazing. She ran a church charity, raised 2 kids, and supported a husband with a stroke due to a hard life back in 1950.
I knew many people from that generation. What a generation! I had a former member of The Hitler Youth at my Vegas wedding (with her Jewish husband).
Such wonderful women. I have high standards for women and I hold my wife and daughter to their standards. I need to call two of them that are down and out due to medical issues.

I would love to have seen what happened with the population boom without the pill. I think there would have been more famine but people have managed to regulate their reproduction in the past. When a culture gets decadent, its a bit like mouse utopia. The females go off sex, some of the males stop trying for sex.
A good example is the Roman ius trium liberorum instituted by Augustus the first emperor (before Rome's power had even peaked). By then things were already so bad in the upper classes who were failing to reproduce that he was offering any woman who had three children the right to be freed from her husband's guardianship. It didn't work, the old glorious families died out because they just stopped having children.

And that's the reason that Rome lasted so long: nobody followed the "Lex Augustii". Since Rome was a massively unequal society and would be against advancement and ambition, without elite replacement it would quickly fall to peasant rebellion. But the elites refused to reproduce (no matter how much Augustus threatened and complained) while the poor multiplied, allowing for significant advancement of the ambitious poor to become the new elites. Rome had an inherent escape clause for everyone (at least in theory) and therefore maintained stability for centuries.
Right now there has never been such low social mobility in the civilized world since the rich and poor both have the same low birth rates. Except as of the recent few years we're starting to go back to the old effects of poor people having more children. Call it the "idiocracy effect" if you want, but the only people having children now are the very stupid and the very religious (who are usually the same people). As such, we are going to have a new social mobility for the stupid and/or religious who will dominate the elite classes for the next century.
Idiocracy, here we come!

Broke ass single mom wants the luxury life from a RICH man who is looking for a package deal. She's never traveled before, because if she did, she'd know the nightmare of the logistics when it comes to traveling with children.
Her 2 kids are black and she don't want any questions.

This is the type of woman who's children will abandon her when gets old and frail, leaving her all alone, and the day they discover their mother was found with her cats having eaten half her face off, will have her cremated, her ashes flung in a ditch somewhere, and happy to split any inheritance they may or may not have.
