Why doesn't this woman (many women, in fact) realize that men get to have standards? Furthermore, the kind of men she's swiping on get lots of swipes from lots of women, and they are only going to bother putting effort into the best ones.
She should be grateful that she got to Step 2 (verifying that she's not a bot and will actually respond). Most men don't even get that... including from her. Perhaps she should swipe right on those guys instead of guys who have better options than a chubby frump with an overinflated ego.

Since time immemorial, women have been conflating "I'd fuck you" with "I'd seriously date you."
That's the reason we have so many women who are trainwrecks - they get plenty of offers for dick, so the feedback loop never fully closes. The difference is that men have immediate and brutal feedback loops. Women do not.
If a man is doing something wrong, he can go MONTHS without sex. The feedback loop is there: "you failed to do X, therefore you don't fuck." Some men are unable to understand what they are doing wrong, but the consequences are immediate and there is no gray area.
If a woman is doing something wrong, there are no mechanisms that will change her behavior. Worse, there are mechanisms that reinforce it - hot girl summer, Yas qween slay, boss bitch energy, etc - all tell women that it is success to run through a bunch of men without securing commitment. It isn't until a woman's sexual power fades that she enters into the epiphany phase and starts trying to become what she should have been all those years (and cocks) ago.

Nearly all women want to get married so there is competition amongst women for marraige. So short fat accountants with bad hair can marry younger hotter women.
Nearly all men want lots of sex but there is stiff competition in the market for sex. Average looking women go home with really hot guys from the club. You have to chadly to smash in the market for sex.
The markets for sex and relationships are totally different and stupid women don't understand this. They think that because they have been updating that thay are something special.
Heres another way to illustrate this: men sleep with really average women that they would never dream of marrying. Women marry men that they would never dream of having a one night stand with.

You're conflating SMV and RMV/MMV. A woman can have an SMV of 9 but MMV of 2.

You beat me to it: MMV =/= SMV.
Although SMV is one component of MMV, the two can be wildly different for the same person, or between fhe two people who constitute a couple. Although everyone wants to get the most they can get, winning the mating lottery by getting someone far above you is rare. Low SMV guys rarely get high SMV women for hookups, and low MMV women don't often marry high MMV men.

I can't speak about your situation because I don't want to presume... I have no idea how chadly you are!! (wealth, looks, body, height etc) Maybe you got married young?
So, I can only talk about the average or general situation.
When you see an eligible dude that has his shit together and has money, what kind of woman does he marry? Its going to be a younger and much more attractive woman. On average, the women that men marry are much more attractive than they are. Because the market for marriage is the reverse of the market for hook ups.
This is much more apparent as men get older and have more success, more experience and are more red pilled, and are less likely to put up with women's nonsense and societies expectations about romance. You see it more easily in the second marriage. When I go to high end hotels, resorts or when I fly business or go to expensive restaurants in central London or NY and you observe couples in their 40s and up.... the guys area all married to women that are much, much hotter than they are.
I remember when I was 30 I was working in Switzerland with a woman colleague who was 40 and a bit overweight and not a looker. We were on a work visit, doing consultancy for a swiss bank, so every night after work we'd have dinner in the hotel, which was a 5 star in the Alps. And the waiter, would approach me and let me order my meal, and would then say 'And for your mother?' It happened nearly every night. It really depressed my colleague. And she would ask me,
"I don't look old enough to be your mother, do I? I'm only 10 years older than you!"
I thought about it for a while, and looked around the room. And I pointed out to her that every single man was with a much younger, much hotter woman. There was this one guy who was with a woman who was quite average and had those fat ham like arms, but it was obvious that she was his daughter.
The waiter simply could not imagine that there was any other possible explanation for an eligible guy bringing out an less attractive woman other than that it was his mother.

I was just hitting my stride as a player at 24, then went all monogamous with my favorite plate from my harem. She was older than me and divorced, but she was really hot, the best sex I ever had (by miles), and she treated me better than anyone else. I wasn't doing great financially at the time, but I had potential.
18 years later, and her looks are mostly gone, but mine are still good (I catch women from teens through 50s, 60s checking me out). I have a great career in a skilled trade union. I could replace her with younger and hotter if I were so inclined, but she continues to add real value to my life beyond just sex.
When we got together, my MMV was slightly higher than hers, but our SMVs were roughly equal. Now, my MMV and SMV are both significantly higher than hers.

I'm 52 and my wife is 44. I see all those younger women, but tbh, I am really not interested at all. I know what young women are like. Or, I should say, I know what young women were like 25 years ago and the vast majority of them insufferable. The hot ones were even worse.
They were disasterous. They took the worst from feminism and just evolved into lazy self entitled self absorbed slobs. And slobs is the really puzzling thing. I can recall a few times 'getting lucky' and going back to a girls house (this would have been 25 years ago) and being horrified at how disgusting her place was. At least two times I had to decline the offer of action because the bed was actually just too disgusting to get into (Imagine white sheets smeared with orange fake tan and various other forms of make up, in a room littered with clothes and shoes everwhere. No thanks. Taxi please). Women 'broke free' from the patriarchy and evolved into literal slobs.
When I look at the average 'hot young thing' all I see is narcissim and mental illness. And women have no idea how unattractive mental illness is. Stands to reason - sex is all about reproduction, and if you're nuts, we don't want to have sex with you, because we want our offspring to be sane. But the plastic surgery, fish lips and weird eyebrows of young women these days has me retching.
