This shows the danger of testing a woman's love. Women often fail when tested and when tempted.
Women since they have got the vote, have campaigned for and got a world in which they can succumb to temptation without loss and in which they are rarely tested by life. They are protected by the great daddy state. However they remain as ever the weaker vessel and protecting them is much better for them and you than testing them. However this is very risky to do when it creates a huge asymetry in resource allocation -what is yours is theirs, what is theirs is theirs. They can take what is yours almost at will.
Try to avoid any situations in which women are tested. When a woman fails a test, a man almost always loses something. Try to avoid getting invested in a woman where you will be hurt if she fails.

This is a very good question for me to make a point.
Some women are of the mindset that their husbands - and specifically their husbands - are the enemy that represses them and must be challenged and fought against.
This woman took the persuasion of a stranger over the internet and fought against her husband. She believed marriage was oppression.
My ex-wife was of the same mindset. I would say that __ is the principle. She would respond with disagreement. Then after talking with her mother/siblings/friends, she'd come back and say that, after hearing the explanation from someone else, she now understood and agreed.
I don't know if this mindset can be fixed. I do know that this is something to watch for, identified, and perhaps avoided.

Unfortunately, in my limited personal experience, it appears, that more "educated" a woman is, more "against" her husband or partner she would be.
It is almost like they fight the only place that is supposed to be peace.

Sure, it can be "fixed" in the sense of fixing hypergamy - it's possible, but conditions must be created in which a woman following her baser instincts is simply not possible or extremely stupid (not worth it in any sense).
In this case, you can either:
It's a question of authority. My wife brings me questions daily to get my opinion on, because I am her primary source of "running ideas by". Sometimes these are spiritual/biblical things, sometimes approval for making plans, or even things like "should I try this recipe". She might talk to her friends, but I have carefully curated those too. Her extended family is closely watched, and several of them are off limits because I do not approve of their influence. She doesn't have her own phone because that's stupid.
This kind of thing doesn't just happen, takes many years to set up, but it is possible given the right conditions - pseudo-separation from culture, unquestioned male authority that is himself under authority, and maybe some wise counsel along the way.

My username (from German) has two meanings in that language: 1.) someone who is solitary and 2.) someone who is creampying someone. You can also say "einsamer (solitary, adjective) Einsamer (noun, creampier)" which basically combines both.

There's a classic Polish film comedy based on a similar premise: "What will you do if you catch me?" or "Co mi zrobisz, jak mnie złapiesz?"
An upper-class man in Polish society, a director of a plant, discovers he's going to lose his position but he discovers a way out: On a business trip a half year ago, he slept with a girl at a business conference and knocked her up. She's the daughter of a Communist Party Official. If he could arrange for a 'shotgun wedding' to marry her, the father would save him.
But he'd need to get rid of his (quite lovely, actually) wife.
So the rest of the film is a series of schemes and vignettes of Polish society of him trying to find ways to get his wife to cheat on him and have a hired photographer catch her in the act.
Even though it's Polish centric, I think the comedy is gold and relevant to our own dysfunctional USA society.

I just shake my head when I hear stories of people putting so much value of virtual relationships over the internet. I don't understand why internet romance "scams" are a thing. She is just giving excuses that she believes people will accept and reverb as a narrative of abuse by men.
This is a woman whom was incredibly distant and hateful to her husband. Consider that for this fake relationship to occur, she and her husband would had to been so disconnected. She didn't engage her husband for relationship with openness for intimacy. As we all know, women are the masters of communication and relationships (/s); did she not perceive her husbands emotional disconnection and not try to draw him in? No, she thought, "where you won't, another man will!" My ex-wife said this to me too. Like a lot of women, these women got the divorce they wanted.
