This post reminds me of social darwinism we often read about on this forum. I hypothesize that prior to civilization, humans rutted much like this woman because intelligence wasn't a significant factor up to then. There's an argument that women 'picked' the alpha male but in reality, the alpha male simply dictated whom the female mated with. I contend that Briffault's law is flawed in terms of human evolution. It works for animals, slowly, hence why they are useful at surviving (since over millions of years, the males that survive will push evolution in a particular direction) but hyper intelligence and civilization was determined by MEN'S choices.
In answer to Beers4cheer's question: We ended up with this normalization due to the west's welfare state and hyperchivalry that sucks resources away from society to empower such women and wound up pushing western civilization to the verge of collapse.
I chuckle when feminists claim, through association, that women's rights are synonymous with western civilization when western civilization is going through an existential crisis both destroying itself and importing cheap labor from non-western nations to stay afloat.

It's all fun and games until men withdraw protection from women. Kevin Samuels brought this up on a show. It didn't really register in the mainstream until some woman got beat up by a guy on a NYC subway and nobody stopped him. Talk to any MGTOW and they have no plans to rescue damsels in distress.
I can't remember who said it but there used to be what's called "polite society". It was more or less an agreement between the sexes that we would treat each other respectfully. If you asked a woman out and she wasn't interested she'd politely refuse and you'd politely go away. If some guy violated the agreement other men would keep him in line.
Taken to the extreme, removal of polite society sees women being dragged off by their hair in front of everyone and nobody even bats an eye. You see it in red light districts in 3rd world countries. This is basically where things are heading in the West. Don't need no man? OK, good luck with that.

Back in the 1980's, there were women rebelling against "polite society" and the expectation that "ladies" should have a special set of manners to offset "gentlemen". We think of gentlemen manners largely as something only for men: holding open doors, pulling back chairs, and paying for meals. But "ladies" were expected to be even more well mannered than gentlemen in certain ways such as being supportive in addition to mere politeness, to volunteer to help the hostess clean the table, to express kindness and empathy more readily. Feminists bragged about being in touch with their "inner bitch" and scowling in public. Yes, modern women thought it was a huge imposition to just appear to be HAPPY in public.
I can appreciate their viewpoint in that I found in certain harsh workplaces that being kind, empathetic, and helpful would be viewed as "feminine" or "weak" and regarded as servile. Everything needs balance, of course, but in most environments men are better off coming across as tough rather than kind. Women wanted equality with men, then they griped about how oppressive actual equality was (hence, equality via special treatment) and now they are equal to the most brutish of masculine behavior.
Another factor is simple expectations and desire. Around 1988, a woman friend of ours said it was popular in her friend circle to express a reluctance to marry as sort of a way of showing more value. The man should want to marry and offer more goodies to change her mind while before then, girls were expected, and even rewarded, with being obsessed about marriage and family and play with dolls, etc. But then the feminists wanted the girls to play with science toys and such. Expressing interesting in marriage and family was viewed as "submissive" by her girl clique.
Of course, if a man expresses interest in marriage too soon (as I found out), we're viewed as weak and that's unattractive to them. Hence, the hook up culture that the women helped create.
