has anyone here taken adderall short-term, without being diagnosed with a mental disease, for the purposes of boosting their cognitive capabilities? i heard that a lot of college students take it come exam time, and supposedly it is very effective - what do you say? i also heard that side-effects are brutal and often permanent, which makes it not worth it in my book.

do you know of any other medication that helps with cognitive function, but isn't as dangerous? also, what are your favorite ways to boost cognition or help neuroplasticity, other than keeping healthy via physical exercise, a balanced diet, and getting adequate sleep?

edit: intelligence is definitely my bottle-neck, and i'm looking for ways to increase my focus when learning new concepts
