This only happens when I push myself, but I only make progress if I push myself.

My form is good, at least at the beginning. I can’t say that my form is 100% perfect at the end but I’m not doing any reckless movements that I know of.

It’s discouraging because I just got to where I can squat 240 for reps. What happens when I push myself is that this area in my left, lower back ends up getting to where it feels like I’m pinching a nerve in a disc when I’m moving. This doesn’t happen during the squat but days later I start to feel it and it gets worse throughout normal activities such as walking. Then it goes away. I went to the chiropractor recently and they didn’t see any big issues. They did say that I have scoliosis but from what I’ve read, it’s not worth worrying about if it’s less than 18° curved. Also, I feel like I may have just not been standing straight because they didn’t have foot markers or anything and kept making me move my feet to where I just ended up probably not standing straight.

Now I guess I have to take a week off from squats, and in my experience one week off makes me lose reps when I go back (if I go back lifting the same weight.)

This lifting shit isn’t working. I think maybe I should switch to a hypertrophy program, because trying to lift for 5 reps in squats sucks balls since I’m lifting my 5RM and having to take like 10 breaths in between reps by the end, or else I’ll fail.

What the fuck guys?

Also, as for the scoliosis, I don’t have the money to have them crack my back four times a month and take X-rays while nothing changes. They told my brother he had scoliosis at age 12 and he did so many X-rays and adjustments and then they told me that I have it at around the same age, so even back then they said that. I thought it was bullshit and didn’t pursue treatment and recently, a chiropractor told my brother that he does have a curve in his spine but that it doesn’t look like scoliosis. I think scoliosis is diagnosed to everyone.

If you guys think that I should switch to a hypertrophy program, please suggest programs. All I want is a muscular physique that I can post on tinder and go to the beach with. It doesn’t look like I’ll hit 315 squat and 225 bench anytime soon anyway. I don’t care about numbers, I just want to look muscular and aesthetic.
