Just for devil's advocate sake, is there a frequent voicing of the opinion that an 18 year old girl landing a successful 26 y/o is something to be applauded in that sub? I only see one comment that says anything like that.

And, to be fair, that isn't a great comparison, and doesn't contrast hypergamy. It may try to represent how we view hypergamy, but doesn't address how THEY view hypergamy. The question posed sounds like more hook up culture, and more sex focused than relationship focused. Since there's no mention of him being in a relationship with someone already, I don't see hypergamy coming into play.

A better contrasting question would be telling a story of a guy in a stable, possibly married relationship with a woman, and struggling to deal with this new woman who completely demolishes him like his current woman never did; how he feels his current relationship may have been a mistake because this new girl feels like more a soul-mate than his wife ever did. Does he trod on with a life time of regret with his current wife, or do the honest thing and end the marriage? He knows he doesn't love his wife, now that he knows what love feels like. Add in sprinkles of how attractive she is, leads an exciting life, comes from a great family, etc, and that'd be hypergamy in a nutshell from a woman's point of view.

When I was 16, I got friendzoned by all the 16 year old girls, 10-14 yr old girls were chasing me and I was creeped out by them not being sexy to me.

Older guy/Younger girl has been the default coupling for... forever. The only reason 18 year old girls are with 18 year old guys today and both are considered immature are because of locking boys and girls of the same age in close contact with each other from k-12, separated from the rest of the normal adult world.

I've noticed this before and it still kinda confuses me. If things like this benefit men in anyway it's seen as odd or creepy by women. It's innocent if a woman dates a older man but if a older man shows interest in a younger woman it's creepy.
