Hello, my name is Ryan Grey, a stage name of course, or, more apropos, a glorious sobriquet devised from the world's greatest novel, and before I tread on the verbose, I would like to inform new readers of my position and and outlook:
I have spent the past 8 years working as a Bouncer, Security Guard, vip security, personal security, and now doorman for everything from college divebars to high end nightclubs.
I paid for college(along with crippling loans) with this gig and learned more from it than any classroom. I'm also a total fucking Caveman so if you're here looking for data and research and smart guy shit, GayLubeOil or Rollo or Illimitable are far superior to my drivel.
Anywho, on to my purpose.
99% of my job is stereotyping and cold reading; being able to figure out who needs what, who can take what, who is willing to pay, what girls are down to fuck, what girls are classy, what guys are drunk or looking to cause trouble, you name it, I can pick them out with remarkable accuracy.
If you want to know what girl is most likely to fuck I got you. If you're looking for a decent girl to date and make a life with I've got you. You want to find the guy with the Coke or Weed I got you. You looking for the girl who is down to just let you and your friends turn her face into a Toaster Streudel I got you.
In the world of high end security there are two "best" positions: The guys they put in the vip area and the guys they put at the door. You can train anybody to be vigilant or be physical, but you can't teach someone(without great effort for such a basic job) how to interact and cold read human beings.
Working both spots requires you to know how to handle everyone from Billionaires to sluts to wannabe famous people to average joes.
I've spent quite a bit of time doing both because, frankly, it's something I'm great at. Everyone's got to be good at something and people just happen to be my thing. Working these positions as long as I have I've come up with a lifetime's worth of experiences, empirical evidence that I put ahead of all else.
It's led me to what I call the Tiger Theory: If you're walking down the street and you see a tiger do you wait and see if it's one of the good tigers or do you just fucking run?
The answer is always Run. The question is why do you run? You've never met a tiger before but you have the collective experience from thousands of years of human trial and error to tell you that tiger is going to fuck you up.
I merely translate that people. I stereotype for a living and none of the people I stereotype know, and they love me for it.
-
28-50 year old white ladies love that I flirt with them recklessly and always tell them they look 8 years younger than I KNOW they are. I know they're single or married to someone they probably don't respect. I'm not subtle at all here. I make them feel so good that they don't notice how long I made them wait in line for hotter girls.
-
Young hot girls LOVE that I let them cut and make them feel special by pulling them to the front. They love that they get to sit at a table with a free bottle. Little do they know I'm just sending them in for free with rich white dudes who paid big money for a table. Their sole purpose is those guys entertainment, to make me look good.
-
British dudes LOVE that I know soccer. I merely figure out what city they're from, call out the local club, and boom fucking tips galore.
- Black guys love feeling cool so I always make them feel like Ballers as long as they cough up that cash.
5.White guys love feeling powerful and showing off in front of women so I make sure to tell the ladies how fucking cool James or Stephen are and then charge them fucking double what I normally would.
I could go on and on but I think you get the point. The modern world we live in consists of a bunch of people pretending to be special and unique and the secret is NONE OF THEM ARE. They are all just covering up for the fact that the most interesting thing about them is their Instagram Account.
Most people fit their stereotypes. If a girl's butt cheeks are hanging out beneath her shorts or skirt she's probably a slut. Tattooed up chicks are not good decision makers. Black guys that look hood as fuck are the fight starters 95% of the time----I've actually got a topic on statistics tomorrow that goes into depth here.
This doesn't mean don't ever get to know people, the opposite in fact: it's the people who break the stereotypes who usually end up making the biggest impression.
But when a tiger appears you don't have time to get to know it, you have to act immediately. Learn to spot tigers and life gets much more simple.
While I hate doing this I do enjoy talking to people outside of Reddit so follow me @TheeRyanGrey on Twitter

what's the stereotype/cold-read for asians, Mexicans or other europeans?
Rommel0502 9y ago
Two things regarding the expensive nightclub
1) Sex is so easy to get I never understood the need for dudes to spend gobs of money to get it.
2) If the idea is "just to be seen," my advice to you is perform better in your job so you dont feel the need to front to compensate for a perceived inadequacy,

Clubs provide a variety of things
NaughtyFred 9y ago
Chris Rock ends a particular joke with "He ain't old, just a little too old to be in the club"
So in your industry opinion...how old is too old to be in the club?
[deleted] 9y ago
Depends on the club. Hip hop clubs stop at 33
For high end clubs there's no limit

Great post Ryan. Any stereotypes of Pakistani guys?
[deleted] 9y ago
rarely meet any young ones
we get older middle eastern guys but honestly i can't tell the difference between a lot of them.
I can do the difference between japanese and chinese and filipino but a lot of asia is foreign to me
ShallITinder 9y ago
Huh, Indian guys somehow have it the worst according to you yet you can't make a call on Pakistani guys. Something's up.
[deleted] 9y ago
Indian Men and Pakistani men look the same
Sorry man
ShallITinder 9y ago
Lemme make it clear to all then. You said Indian men have it the worst and look the same as Pakistani men, then you said you have rarely met the young ones, isn't it somewhat asinine for you to say Indian guys have it really bad when you hardly have that much of a sample size to compare?

Question: some say Tinder is killing night clubs. True? Not true?
[deleted] 9y ago
Not true.
not true at all.
rap culture is all about the clubs and rap culture is now pop culture.
clubs are everywhere

[deleted] 9y ago
my girl told me last week the reason she got birth control last year was so she could be my twinkie and not my toaster streudel
someone made it a meme and we saw it recently and we both laughed at it

Any tips to a college kid who will be starting a bouncing gig in a month? Major city at the on campus bar. Thanks!
[deleted] 9y ago
holy fuck yes
College kids don't tip so what you're looking for is experience in cold reading and being fucking cool.
3.LEVERAGE YOUR pOWER. Women give stupid magical powers to bouncers. We're like Djs. It's dumb. Fuck sluts until you're sick of it.
Try and never fight because then people will come looking to fight you. But if you have to put a muthafucka down do it swiftly so people never fuck with you again.
HAVE FUN. people think we have to be mean and nasty. don't. sing the songs, dance a little, enjoy yourself.
imthereal6godboy 9y ago
Question related man, would you advise working as a barback as well? Also, how big do you think I'd need to be to be considered seriously for bouncer/doorstaff (is there a difference between these two? Some of the places I've looked at have them listed separately). I'm about 6'1-6'2" and around 200 lbs for reference.
One more I just thought of actually, I don't really have connections, so my plan was to just go in and ask for the manager and let him know i was interested in a position, that sound good? Any need to bring a resume or anything?
Thanks a lot man.

shadyindividual 9y ago
What is your height/weight? How does it compare to the rest of the security guys?
[deleted] 9y ago
nah
i mean you want taller bigger guys, but one of our best guys is like 5'10 and kinda scrawny, he's just VERY attentive and good at his job which is most of it.
vagbutters 9y ago
Stereotypes have only been shunned the Blue-Pill PC retard crowd, otherwise they're incredibly useful indicators of who you're dealing with.
As always though, you should be perspicacious with whom you're dealing with. You never know who the exception to the rule is, and as such your measures to deal with any person shouldn't always be too extreme.
[deleted] 9y ago
they're shunned because they accurately represent them as the losers they know they are deep down
and even though they proudly state how much they love being weird it's all a facade.
slay_it_forward 9y ago
What was the point of this post? That stereotypes exist for a reason? That a chick that looks like a slut and a black dude who looks like a thug are those things? Well no shit.
A more interesting and helpful post would be about the behind the scenes shit you get to witness. Like, the types of guys you see the girls fucking, what kind of game they're running, how they behave with you a guy of authority, etc.

High-end nightclub worker here:
listen to this guy.
Stereotypes exist for a reason, and if a full tattooed up mini skirt wearing hoe pretends she isn't a slut and tells you all about "wanting a relationship", be amused that you know better and escalate anyway.
That shy girl in your college class you dream about? Last thursday I saw her going home with a dude in his 40's who bought several bottles of Vodka. That cute nerdy girl at the library you thought about having a fulfilling conversation with? yeah... let me tell you, I overheard her telling her friends she's in a relationship with a disgusting guy in his 50's who's racking stacks of cash, you wouldn't believe it.
Nightclub is all about status and money. You better have some serious game if you want to pull 8's out of a high end nightclub.
So, disregard females, acquire currency and don't work in the nightlife except as a bartender.
throwupz 9y ago
So...fuck bitches, get money?
_the_shape_ 9y ago
And having been there myself, even in that department, eghh. Yes, money can be nice (and fast!), but usually the busier the bar, the more 'shit' you're going to have to deal with to get that $$$ (ex. raging asshole/micromanaging bar owner, drunk and rowdy asshole patrons that will occasionally tempt you to jump over the bar and stab them repeatedly, co-worker drama, having to close - meaning, getting home at anywhere from 2 to 6 A.M.)
Great gig to help pay for school or the bills as you get your side-hustle going, also something nice to fall back on if times get a little rough, but generally speaking, I wouldn't advise it as a career move.
penis_butter_n_jelly 9y ago
A high-end nightclub attracts rich men and gold digging women? You don't say.
[deleted]
slay_it_forward 9y ago
You're advocating the highest degree of beta providership. Simple recipe to get fucked over by women. How about be the alpha with very little money that women beg to fuck because there's "just something about him".
[deleted] 9y ago
wtf are you even talking about.
Get money so you can spend your time as you want, with whom you want.
I know several "alphas who women beg to fuck" and to put it bluntly, they have nothing going on. One guy wants to quit his bouncer gig, but doesn't want to work with regular times, so he is stuck, and it sucks ass for him. He fucks 6 different plates regularly though, but is he happy? He tells me all the time how he would rather spend his time doing other things, money gets you that time.
[deleted] 9y ago
[deleted]
[deleted] 9y ago
it's about who you know. Either you hustle and ask the bar manager directly, or you know someone, no other way.
Make sure to look sharp, age doesn't really matter as long as you come across as very grounded and look like you could make them a lot of money.
[deleted] 9y ago
I believe it. Women are women. They're predictable. When they try to be UNpredictable, they're even more predictable.
I have dated right wing "christian" girls to (I shit you not, including a Mormon) to Paris Hilton wannabes. They're all the same.
I taught statistics for two semesters. Small private university. I never expected 18 year old girls to come onto me. They do. I'm younger and better looking than most profs but Jesus... I wonder how many parents who shell $30,000/yr know what their little princesses are up to?
No, I didn't bang them left and right...
grass_cutter 9y ago
And you want us to trust your instincts on girls?
You guys flew way off the handle. Stereotypes are useful but you went too far in the other direction. Not every girl is a massive, massive slut who wants to be pounded by the football team, which is what you're (sorta cynically) saying. She has tattoos and looks rought Dude, total slut! She's a sweet doe-eyed shy nerd girl with glasses? TOTALLY wants to be savagely gorilla fucked on the first date, broseph. She's a club-footed transexual with a lazy eye who works at the DMV? Man, POUND TOWN homey!
Yeah .... no.
I don't have the same madonna-whore complex most guys here have (i.e. ... I really don't give a fuck how promiscous, or not, a woman is or has been ... as long as she doesn't have diseases). Nevertheless, girls are very different when it comes to:
their sex drive
how much they like making out/ fooling around in public view
discretion
sexual experience
whether they have rules / wait x time before having sex
what they are looking for (casual sex/ relationship/ sugar daddy)
So I think you're way off. And the stereotypes are nonsense. Not every "geeky librarian chick" has the same sex drive or experience. Same with a chick who looks like a biker. Best way is to size them up in person, see how they react. You deal with someone for about 10 minutes - an hour you find out some things, but you can be surprised.
To pretend like a person can never surprise you, is asking for trouble. Bouncer OP should know that. It's good to cold read and stereotype, but realize you can be wrong sometimes. The biggest scammers and fuck-bags and violent psycopaths I've met were not dressed in slick suits or tatted-up bikers. They looked like Ned Flanders. And that was specifically to get your guard down. Seacrest out.
PrinceofSpades 9y ago
Except not all girls go to night clubs. OP is correct as far as women showing up to night clubs at all. I always make a point of chatting up the bouncer first and foremost. I get him to understand that I see the people just like he does, and that I also get the big picture. Then I tell him why I'm there for the night, and ask him where I can find what I'm looking for. Since I'm the first guy all night who's actually befriended him and gotten to know him, he's always more than willing to help me out, point me in the right direction, and vouch for me on the way out the door.
Girls at clubs are easy to stereotype because they are the type of girl who even bothers going to a club. A real marriage material girl probably has little experience with any kind of night life. Something to keep in mind before saying stereotyping doesn't always work.
[deleted] 9y ago
No.
I think you're misunderstanding. One is supposed to use stereotypes ad a guide not the gospel. We had someone show up in our showroom looking like he spent the night on the street. He ended up buying a $70,000 GL-class. Turns out he was the CEO of an alloy company. When he took delivery he wore a suit.
However I saw a girl with a 4.0 GPA (I taught statistics for two semesters last year) drop out of college to be with her biker boyfriend. She was pre-med, only had two more semesters to go. She brought the guy to my class. I kicked him out. I gave her a piece of my mind after class that day. "Don't you ever bring somebody unauthorized on campus again. Do you understand me?" I was enraged. The rest of the class wrote in their evaluations they were glad I did that. 18-21 year old kids write the damnedest things on those evaluations.
GunsGermsAndSteel 9y ago
I find myself agreeing with you.
I've never minded much if my girls have fucked a bunch of dudes, because I know what's gonna happen: I'm gonna fuck them the way they wanted to be fucked all along. The big reason they bounced from one cock to another is that they quickly grew bored with selfish premature ejaculators who couldn't find the clitoris with both hands and a map.
Now, there is something to be said for the idea that promiscuity in females is a sign of other issues. And I suspect that the higher a girls partner count is, the more difficult it may be for her to form long-term, reliable bonds with a partner.
But I think most of the guys here aren't concerned that she's had a lot of dicks... They're concerned she might have had better dicks.
Try not being a lame loser in bed, you might be able to keep a bitch around for a while.
sharp7 9y ago
Oh man its nice to see confirmation that my ned-flanders theory is right. Back in HS in my rebellious days I used to shoplift from big stores for the thrill. The ned-flanders look made it a joke. You could do it infront of someone and people would just assume they saw incorrectly. Its crazy.
I saw a similar thing in the show The Americans where the soviet spies would often wear disguises making them look very nerdy and would have fake loser backstories even with fake stutters and shit. That shit is scary.
I always wondered if other people use the ned-flanders approach. I often feel like the nerdy/sad/fragile people are the most manipulative. Sometimes I wonder if I'm doing it as well subconsciously. Its nice to see confirmation that this really is a thing and my suspicions aren't completely crazy.

Your_Coke_Dealer 9y ago
Of course. AWALT is not to say all women are literally the same in behavior or morality; they just have the same underlying tendencies. How to unlock this tendency varies based on the individual woman, and the stereotypes mentioned are how you determine what strategy to follow to unlock the sexual tendency.
I.e. The shy girl you don't usually appeal to with a 'bad boy' persona, you discuss common interests a bit and get her guard down. The party girl meanwhile you can be direct and just look like a guy who has fun a lot. Either way some things like confidence apply of course
grass_cutter 9y ago
I disagree; you always want to seem like a cool, sexy guy with some edge to him, no matter what the target.
You should usually talk/ reveal as little as possible once you get the initial ball rolling; this lets you cast a wider net and fuck more chicks who might rule you out for X reason.
Your_Coke_Dealer 9y ago
I guess it's a sliding scale. I won't consciously add 'edge' to my persona for a shy girl. I've made the mistake before, and some girls are innocent enough even in college to find it off-putting. But perhaps I'm interesting enough as-is to not need to emphasize it with a shy girl, while for a slut, implying [that my username checks out] makes me stand out just enough.
But as for the revealing as little as possible; always. Better to ask questions and let the girl talk

I had one thing to say to parents dropping off their freshman daughters on campus: "thank you for your daughters"
[deleted] 9y ago
I'd say the same thing, if I hadn't been teaching at that time.
I made the mistake of saying I'm available if somebody god drunk and needed a ride home. I ended up as the academic Uber for drunk girls. I had frozen vomit on the right side of my car to prove it.
Zachar1a 9y ago
I assume this was before swallowing the Red Pill. What a Blue Pill thing to do.
[deleted] 9y ago
I swallowed half the red pill. I might need a booster. It was on the outside of the car during Winter hence it froze.

Mate... Kill that niceness inside of you. That made me twitch a bit. Especially since I imagine you weren't collecting money for your time.
[deleted] 9y ago
I'm working on it. I live close to the campus so I made the offer and that was that. The university wanted me for another year, but I'm too busy to keep teaching for now.
Sdom1 9y ago
Remember that a professor who fucks students basically hangs the sword of Damocles over his head. That thread is going to snap, it's just a matter of when. It's not like the movies, that shit can fuck up your career.
PrinceofSpades 9y ago
I wasn't encouraging him to fuck his students. I was telling him to stop being a bitch who gives drunk college girls rides home for free like the ultimate beta orbiter.
Hence, kill your kindness.
Sdom1 9y ago
Oh, yeah that is retarded AND it makes you look like you're looking for an opportunity to fuck them anyway. So at that point you might as well indulge.
[deleted] 9y ago
I advise EVERYONE to work in nightclubs or bars for one year.
Do it overseas, do it in another state, whatever, but do it. You need to see how people really are when they're after the one thing we're all after: Sex.
Bartending is obviously the dopest but if you're getting into sales and marketing then be a Host. Security is dope if you want to practice being a dominant person and cold reading.

[deleted] 9y ago
For 3 years max. Shit's a dead end and a shit show. Nightwork will be detrimental to your aging, no matter what and if you're not the owner of the nightclub, or making bank as a bartender, don't do nightlife for a long period of time.

Unrelated question: why do you bouncers have to be such arseholes to us with smiles on our faces, completely sober and even worse when I arrive with my girlfriend? I've heard it's to do with the training vs the pay you get for it, but come on.
a_nus 9y ago
Despite the bouncer brown nosing going on in this thread, there are many bouncers who are merely meatheads power tripping on the only source of power they'll get in their entire lives.
Not to say all bouncers are like this. Evidently the ones posting here are not. But a big chunk of them are.
GaiusScaevolus 9y ago
You might be being too friendly. If I don't know you and you waste my time blathering about whatever subject you think I might care about, you're distracting me from the people I actually like talking to.
AFCdood 9y ago
Normal guy here, never had this problem. You're probably doing something wrong.
[deleted] 9y ago
i dunno how it where you're from but in my city bouncers are nice as fuck because we can make tips
I get told I'm the nicest bouncer people have ever met daily because I'm not some fake tough guy who took the job to beat up drunks. I do it because I like people and hate my degree lol
Xen626 9y ago
You tell us to stereotype, then tell us you're an exception... typical or?
Clapboom 9y ago
I mean he did say this in the OP. I would imagine he'd make an effort to be different for personal gain.
[deleted] 9y ago
I'm telling you if yiu see me to stereotype me
I'm not an exception
If you give me time I'll prove your expectations wrong but if you don't have the time that's ok
[deleted] 9y ago
He said trust your stereotype short term because it's probably true. Stereotype him as a typical bouncer, but once you actually have time to get to know him all bets are off
PowerVitamin 9y ago
maybe you are the problem? Just a thought. I've been a bouncer and I rarely have problems at all. And I get payed very well.
30fretibanezguy 9y ago
Are you British? There's a very strong stigma against people in the profession here. Being patronising is the biggest crime you're guilty of, to be fair, but it does grind people's gears a lot.
PowerVitamin 9y ago

Not always, but the smaller you are the better you have to be at everything. The vision, the frame, the intimidation, sometimes fighting. But, most of all you just have to be smart.

I valeted at a night club in Dallas while in college and also valeted at Las Vegas casinos/nightclubs after graduating.
Money talks.
We didn't care who you were, if you want preferential treatment, show us the money. One time Michael Crabtree came in and expected us to put his car up front. But since he didn't tip us we parked him in the garage with the rest. He comes out and throws a tantrum like a 5 year old... "DO YOU NOT KNOW WHO THE FUCK I AM??!?!". We knew who he was, but he didn't tip us up front. We also remembered faces. If you didn't tip us last time you came in, and you came back, we'd park you so deep in the garage it takes forever to retrieve your car. Some guys I work with would even do stuff like park the car and turn the front tire all the way to the left and jam it against the parking block to throw off the alignment. NOTE: TIP EVERYBODY WHO WORKS FOR TIPS IN LAS VEGAS. Bouncers, hosts, valets, bellman, servers, bartenders. It's a tipping based economy and they will find discreet ways to make you pay for not tipping.
Anyway I agree that there is no better place to observe AWALT than at a nightclub. The nightclub I worked at in Dallas, so many girls I went to school with who you would expect to be sweet, innocent women who are not tramps... would go in, get hammered, and leave with a Chad to fuck. Every weekend, with a different Chad. Women I went to Church with, Women who were high achievers at school and looked to as role models, didn't matter. AWALT.
candyman420 9y ago
Jesus fucking Christ, the limits of scumbag douchebaggerry in the human race never cease to astound me. I'm not ever using valet again.
RedditAdminsSuck_88 9y ago
I never did it, most guys I worked with didn't, but that is Las Vegas for you. Don't worry about it at other places with valet, but in Las Vegas its a tipping based economy and shit happens to you if you don't tip. If you go to Las Vegas and don't tip you are a jackass. Not saying you deserve to have your car fucked with, but what goes around comes around. Tip people who work for tips and you have nothing to worry about...
candyman420 9y ago
What goes around comes around?
So the off chance that the valet driver has a bad day, or he feels that you didn't tip him "enough" - you think that it's totally justified to fuck that person's car up.
And I bet there's no recourse for a complaint, either.
Sorry sir, you do deserve $20 for driving my car into a fucking parking space and back, my mistake.
NietzscheExplosion 9y ago
I stopped when I wasn't sure the going rate, not taking the chance. Since 15% became expected minimum, I've avoided all places expecting tips.
Last Vegas trip I jumped out of the cab, head down saying "we're good, we're good" loudly to the vampires as I rushed in the doors.
candyman420 9y ago
Do the valets and door men really expect you to tip them for getting out of a cab and walking into the venue?

RedditAdminsSuck_88 9y ago
Try telling that to the poster giving me a hard time for revealing to him the truth about what can happen in Las Vegas if you don't tip
I never went out of my way to get revenge on stiffers/bad tippers, but others will.

And how would working in a nightclub give you much more of a different viewpoint of the crowd that being a patron? Seriously. Sure, you see a lot of back-bar shit that no one else does, but eh. You are probably THERE more often. You are usually sober. This can be accomplished without a night job.
I've seen poonhounds. And I have my own experience. Meh.
[deleted] 9y ago
Being there is NOTHING. Being there you're drunk, you're seeing YOUR section, your friends, the girl you're after. You're there one night and then boom, gone.
Working there you see EVERYTHING. You see the way girls hit on you because you have power in there eyes. You see the more power you have, like let's say you're working security for Leonardo Dicaprio, what women will do for you.
You see the men who fail and the ones who succeed. You see what girls are really like when no one is watching. You see how crooked and cutthroat the business world is. You see what money does to people.
It's like Game of Thrones but in real fucking life. It's great.

I worked in a regular bar for professionals and in a bar with a bigger student clientele. Did this for about 2 years a decade or so ago. This is in the UK.
Absolutely agree with what you said. In fact what's interesting was comparing stories with the door staff. They would see something then I'd be able to relate what that person did somewhere inside.
I also worked day shifts where people would come in for lunch. It pays to learn as much about your regulars. I had business owners and judges alike.

Let's say I'm a white guy who wants to get a job at the local bar/nightclub. Let's say I want to get hired by you and your crew.
What do bosses look for in a completely new guy? Experience of sales? Quick thinking? Sobriety? What do I need to do or show to my potential boss? What needs to be done or seen in me, that they know that I'm not a waste of time time or waste of money?
[deleted] 9y ago
Depends on what you're going for and what kinda bar.
High end bars or popular downtown bars want good looking people with experience for any staff job.
If you're looking to host they want good looking people with degrees in marketing or sales or a shit ton of experience.
For security they want experience, size, and most importantly the customer service. Most of your job is dealing with petty shit.
_the_shape_ 9y ago
The busier the venue (meaning, the more money it brings in), the choosier they get to be as far as who they hire. Margin of error drops considerably the more established and successful the bar may be. I can't speak for security, but I can say a thing or two about front of house (waiting/bar tending) - broadly speaking, the more successful the bar, the less they will be inclined to train. They strongly prefer people to take off running, with very few exceptions (ex. very good looking [pertains more to women]). This industry is fickle (one month/year you're hot, then that spot is no longer "the place to be"), so they (management) wants to capitalize on that as much as possible. Hiring people who don't know what the fuck they're doing compromises that.
If you can manage to slip into one of these busy spots, good, you can learn a lot, but always keep in mind that inexperience/incompetence/unreliability spreads like wildfire in these settings if you start fucking up. If you want to learn and start padding your resume without the constant stress of living up to steep expectations, seek a less known spot that has the sort of position you're looking to get into. This way, you'll have more room for
errorslearning sans punitive repurcussions.ColdEiric 9y ago
Opportunistic thinking, thinking on one's feet, ability to learn 'forbidden knowledge', ability to 'get/feel' fashion/trends and its ebb and tide.
Thank you for your quick reply.

experience, ability to show up when scheduled, in shape and dress well if its a nice place. the standards are not that high.

Interestingly enough a lot of the models he's spotted with are employed through their agencies.

oh of course it's a way to get the models exposure
but that's even MORE baller, he's so famous he makes models famous by proxy

I'm a naturally intimidating dude and can pick-up on people's vibes like a billboard overhang on a bridge. At 5'9 180lbs cut would that make for a decent bouncer? Also did you learn to socially vet people overtime like the old chicks you mentioned above or is it a natural on the job progression?
[deleted] 9y ago
i've always been pretty good at it
but the job is really helpful. seeing the same type of people do the same type of shit day after day really defeats the whole
"people are different don't judge them" theory.
people surprise me 1/40 times. it's so rare that I can actually remember specific incidents
AnewAccount98 9y ago
I don't at all mean to sound like a dick, and hopefully others with experience can say otherwise, but you're probably too short for high-end places.
To be able to pick up anything out of a crowd, you need to be able to look over the crowd. Being cut doesn't mean much in the industry. Sure, they don't want a chubby or "bear-mode" guy, but I bet they'd be much more likely to say "yes" if you were 200lbs with a small gut than 180 cut.
Again, I don't mean to come off sounding like a dick - just not trying to beat around the bush.
GaiusScaevolus 9y ago
Granted, I'm not in Vegas, but my place is fairly high end for the area and we've had security guys ranging from 5'5" to 7', and 150lbs to 320lbs. I myself am 5'9". My experience generally has been that owners would rather have someone smart/observant enough to prevent a fight from happening than someone who can beat up everybody. They should have enough size to handle themselves for a while (or dissuade an altercation), but generally you have 5 other guys coming to back you up.
StoicCrane 9y ago
No reason to apologize. This is exactly the type of answer I was looking for. Pulling punches would do no favors.
[deleted] 9y ago
Hi do you think a short thin guy can get into VIP security ? Not bouncer I mean with a gun and protecting high end clients .
icecow 9y ago
Short thin guys gravitate jobs like bouncers because they associate bouncers with being big, and having authority. Why not just get big and decide then if you want to be a bouncer. I recently heard a girl on youtube talking about not liking thin guys because hugging a thin guy just felt like she was hugging another girl. She said she wanted to feel the masculinity of size and actually said she wanted to feel like he could protect her.
Gain some productive weight and the confidence and job opportunities will come. Be what girls want then walk up and grab a girl that guys want.
[deleted] 9y ago
Hi thanks for answering I'm unable to lift weights due to having a hernia , They said its best I lose weight thus I want to become thin. If I start weight lifting it would affect the hernia .im thinking maybe a police officer ? Thin police officer ? Or would that be bad as well as I still wouldn't be seen as having authority due to size ?
icecow 9y ago
Ask if it's okay to work out your arms, and chest (probably it's not?). I'd think you could do exercises that were lower weight/more reps. I'm not a doctor. Ask him.
I don't know enough about law enforcement to comment extensively. All I can tell you is it's better to get a career that is congruent with your looks/build and personality.
What comes to mind is a book called, "What EVERY BODY is saying". It's on audible.com if you want to listen to it instead of read. It's about body language written by a former FBI agent. You'll learn how to read people's body language to a degree, and be more aware of the body language you are sending. Great if you aren't or are in law enforcement, and if you were it would be even more valuable.
[deleted] 9y ago
Thanks buddy . Il check out the book ,seems helpful. Il speak to my doctor. I just really want a job such as escorting VIPs or Cash in transit security or bodyguard or police officer heck even the armed response the guys who respond when house alarms go off is even fine to me.
abdada 9y ago
When I was in the nightclub industry 20 years ago as a co-owner, we would spend about an hour every night after closing looking for our whales and printing photos of them to show the bouncers and staff so they always recognized potential income streams.
Hot young chicks always. Dudes who tipped bouncers always. Guys who never stopped bottle service at just 1 bottle always.
The club scene is a great place to learn about real alphadom versus fake alpha theater. There are rarely alphas buying alcohol, they're just guys who want to feel powerful and the people owning and managing the place know exactly what buttons to push to make every man feel special.
Chicks were all disposable and were only invited in because of what you said: the rich dudes dropping stacks have to see a few dark light hotties around. When last call comes around and the lights go to 100%, most of those hotties looked like winter potholed pavement.
[deleted] 9y ago
That's why I like to make friends in "low" places! I'm in the car biz (not sales) and we have a very wide range of people working in this industry.
grass_cutter 9y ago
Nothing you said is surprising to an outsider, or even secret knowledge, to be honest.
the nightclub business, like literally every business, optimizes for profit. IE; all concerns are subservient to the almighty dollar. Color me shocked. I guess the $20 paint-thinner vodka shot wasn't enough of a clue to this philosophy.
I don't think you learn much about 'alphadom' in the club setting. More like primate behavior when under extreme doses of alcohol. The real alpha game in society is done through social skills and achievement and personality, not puffing up your chest in a club or being able to toss people out of your place of business (a McDonald's manager can do that).
penis_butter_n_jelly 9y ago
Honestly, I know a lot of people that go to "high end clubs" and I know a lot of rich people. There is no carryover. High end clubs are filled with middle/low-middle class people pretending--the 30,000 dollar millionaire. The only exception I've seen are rich guys that go to places like this and straight proposition girls for arrangements. Any way you slice it, there's nothing alpha about any of it. Unless you consider bartenders alpha for smashing concha that didn't get find a wealthy man that night.
prodigy2throw 9y ago
Funniest part of when I was in the club industry was when hot girls get in the club or VIP for free they get all hyped and feel important.
Little do they know they aren't the customer, they're the product, just like the bottles of vodka. Once they run dry, they're out waiting in line and paying cover like everyone else.
eccentricrealist 9y ago
That's what I always told my ex when she wondered why I didn't let her go to nightclubs. "You don't like being objectified? In those clubs, men pay and you're the product."
abdada 9y ago
Yep, very true. I own a business that sells step-and-repeats for nightclub events and the profit margin on those is over 800% -- and the companies paying for them pay a bonus to the promoter who hires us if he gets hot women to snap photos in front of them.
Most people are goons, but that's one great way to make money.
For a few years we've been selling "instagram frames" to nightclub promoters. Gangbuster product for goons. I also sell cardboard cutouts of famous actors (lol) and the promoters eat them up.
[deleted] 9y ago

abdada 9y ago
All it takes is one solid photo in a socialite magazine of something you make to get everyone clawing for the same.
[deleted] 9y ago
I've been wondering for a little while now, why printing? Between t-shirts, labels, step-and-repeats, and cardboard cutouts, you seem to be in the business of all things printed. Was it something that interested you or was it always purely profit driven? Printing machines and space to put the machines are expensive.
abdada 9y ago
I got into the print industry in 1995 actually -- I used to publish a small magazine/newsletter and wanted to see why it cost so much to print them so I bought into a small print shop and just monitored things for a summer. I ended up hating that style of printing but the technology impressed me so I started looking for industries to connect with.
My first print shop was 100% Christian churches and that business is still alive today, although I am only a 10% owner so my income isn't all that fabulous. But we invented some new marketing/consumer products for the Christian megachurch industry and I profited well from it.
Around 2007 or so (can't recall exactly) I started my retirement process and decided to get back into the business as a mentorship program for guys who wanted to get out of the cubicles. I've had a lot of successes and even more failures -- 2 out of 3 of these guys fail, and some of them rob me of assets or capital in the process. At first hit hurt my reputation but then I realized that all PR is good PR. The mess with the 3 Bitcoin assholes in 2012 still haunts me from time to time but if anything it's still PR and the mentor businesses keep growing although I have almost nothing to do with them other than being a figurehead.
Right now I am actively involved in 7 different print shops, again mostly as a figurehead, but in the next 3 years I plan on helping dudes open up to 50 of them worldwide and then I'll hopefully get enough residual income to retire. If I am still working my regular consulting gig at 45 you are welcome to shoot me in the face and run off with the women.
If I raise enough funds to buy a bigger boat this Christmas, I am definitely putting a small t-shirt printer in there. Can you imagine how awesome it would be to anchor off of Saba and print shirts for fun and profit? The gears spin with my ideas for active retirement income, lol. I don't do well with passive income streams, they're so boring.
[deleted]
Scottyzredhead 9y ago
I'm looking to get into professional printing. When you started your first print shop, did you buy your own printers, rent them, source some of them out, etc?
abdada 9y ago
I always buy my hardware up front. I usually buy used equipment that is outdated and have it hacked to be better than modern equipment.
My step and repeat printer is from 2003 and makes more money per square foot than anything else on the market.
[deleted] 9y ago
The industry hasn't changed at ALL. AT ALL. Same thing, just more finely tuned.
It's real life in a microcosm, a stark amalgamation of how things work behind the scenes:
Fat and ugly women are useless. Fat and ugly guys are fine if they pay. Hot girls get special privleges but only because they serve the interests of the real important people: Rich men in suits.
If Rich men in suits liked fat ugly men we would let in a ton of fat and ugly men for free and give them free drinks.
icecow 9y ago
How do attractive or semi-attractive males fit in this mix?
[deleted] 9y ago
attractive guys mean very little to us.
you guys are like affirmative acton: if it's a tie between you and an ugly or fat dude, you win the tie.
[deleted] 9y ago
People haven't changed at all. You're in the people business.
I'm in the car biz like I said in the other post. People are the same today as they were 40 years ago. They all want cars they can't afford. Second rate real estate jackasses with a credit score of 400 want to test drive this over the weekend:

[deleted] 9y ago
had a R230 amg when I got my business working many years ago.
I cannot appreciate the current edition's design, it lacks of sl-series' spirit.
Question is, how are the sales in dealer and what do you guys think about it?
[deleted] 9y ago
Definitely more aggressive styling which is new territory for Mercedes. The problem with most of MB's customers is they're older. way older. They need to appeal to younger (less old?) customers. I like the new styling.
[deleted] 9y ago
Interesting observation. Thank you for the information.
abdada 9y ago
Fat ugly dudes are usually beer drinkers and there's an entire industry for them -- concerts and fests. Not nightclubs. The gastropub was mostly designed for dadbods -- beer and burgers and bad rock music. Now they have video games gastropubs called Barcades, again for the fat ugly dudes.
I twitch often to get back into the bar business, but I prefer to be on the supply side of things. It's just so much more fun extracting wealth from addicts but I know I don't have the time to manage a bar anymore.
The most alpha thing a fat ugly dude can do is go and work minimum wage as a barback. Lifting beer boxes and climbing stairs for 8 hours is a quick way to get fit and ripped, and you end up seeing red pill truths nightly. Plus even ugly barbacks get pussy at 2am when all the Chads have picked their mates for the night.
pisspoordecisions 9y ago
Okay, I worked as a bar back and bar tender at a pretty upscale and popular bar. I don't get how any bar back can get pussy after a shift...everyone is kicked out and you have to clean the place up and close out, which typically takes an hour. Bartenders yeah I've seen that. But bar backs are literally the bitches of the industry. Even the waitresses treat you like scum - at least where I worked.
abdada 9y ago
After-hours. At least in my market we have 3am bars and 5am clubs.
huowushi 9y ago
"it's just so fun extracting wealth from addicts." Really though?
abdada 9y ago
Yes, really.
Ever been on stage singing to a crowd of drunks and drug abusers knowing you're getting paid around $1500 an hour just to be there for 4 hours?
Ever been on a TV screen where millions of junk food addicts will cry and laugh and hang on a cliff to see what happens next with your character?
Ever been an athlete throwing a leather ball wearing pink shoes collecting $150,000 for 3 hours of work while millions of morons chug canned piss and semi-meat "brats" fantasizing you are their hero from their city?
I love extracting wealth from morons.
AdonisHera 9y ago
I agree completely. working on shifting from a consumer to a producer.
[deleted] 9y ago
May I ask how you got into the supply side of things?
Because of how good I am with people and taking care of rich guys, I get offered sales and marketing jobs often, but I'm always weary of bullshitters, ya know?
GunsGermsAndSteel 9y ago
Wary.
You are wary. Not weary.
[deleted] 9y ago

abdada 9y ago
I got out of the nightclub in less than 2 years from when I bought in -- my partner-in-crime and I had a dreadful Thursday where we couldn't get anyone in the club so we started a night focused on a particularly popular musician and 3 months later people were flying in from out of the country and out of state to attend the weekly parties. That musician then hired my partner to work full time and I went into marketing other clubs.
A few years later, I realized that marketing was too much work for too little payout so I switched to ancillary support industries and got into boutique bottles (labeling, glass design, boxing, etc) and have mostly been there for over a decade. So my supply-side financials are about ancillary goods in the bar industry.
One popular nightclub retains me just to produce custom bottles for their biggest whales. Every 3 months they'll want to spend some crazy money on custom making 100 unique bottles targetting their big spenders for their seasonal event. These are people who will drop $5000 a bottle without a second thought and they might buy 20 bottles in a night ($100,000 on the Amex).
I'm probably 3 years from retirement, though, so I'm trying to pass on the business to someone who has worked for me but he just doesn't get it. Maybe in 3 years he will, you just can't teach someone how to be successful, it has to come from experience.
[deleted] 9y ago
That's pretty fucking cool, man.
I work with a lot of people stuck in their position and I'm a lot younger than them so I see the pitfalls.
Pinkmistiscool 9y ago
Why does this seem to be so hard? I was a mobile DJ in a steel town area with dives, high ends, in between bars, and whatnot. Made a very successful name for myself and started expanding... Even being meticulous about hires the expansion crashed and burned because they couldn't be me... And definitely didn't care too much about it... I guess just wanting some paycheck... They really never got a clue as to what an opportunity they had and how big we could've gotten. Just a shame...
abdada 9y ago
People want a stable weekly paycheck because they can't put money in savings to weather the unstable periods. One of my main incomes is billed NET730. Imagine that for a minute: the world I did today won't get paid for 2 years, and possibly not at all.
I have maybe 30 competitors worldwide and we all work on net 2 year payouts. The reason no one else enters the market is they can't afford to. I'm thinking of taking jobs at NET1000 to kick some of my competitors in the balls financially, lol.
[deleted]
bebestman 9y ago
What kind of business is that? NET730 is just extreme.
abdada 9y ago
It's a consulting deal in a very niche international market with minimal exposure but incredible financial weight.
NET730 is extreme but it pays much better than NET30 or NET7. More risk = higher rewards.
bebestman 9y ago
Thank you for answering, although of course I'd love to hear more details.
Since I am just starting out in the vast world: Is your payment schedule something absurdly unusual or does it appear in other markets and industries as well? With payment so far in the future, it seems that in effect this is more of a credit line to the customers. (Which could be potential business idea, that is to provide services to facilitate this kind of payment schedule)
dking168 9y ago
You dont talk about anything about asians. Im assuming you are going to say that the bulk of them are timid who have no game and scrap for the bottom of the barrel. Obviously, not all are like that but what can I do make an impression to the bouncer and staff that im above that. I know social proof is key in a bar and I want your thoughts on making a better impression to both the staff and hoes in da club.
[deleted] 9y ago
Asian guys FUCK in 2016.
No one is talking about it because white guys aren't jealous of you guys so they don't hate you, but Asian guys fuck white girls at a tremendous rate.

I am surprised body language isn't talked about more here. It is quite a learning experience if you know what to look for and you just sit in the back and just watch people you can pick up on things that people do unknowingly, Placement of feet, movement of there hands to the direction of the crouch if they want to get lucky with the person they are talking to, quick glances and playing with hair.
[deleted] 9y ago
All that shit.
Eye Contact is God. I can tell a drunk or high person through it. I can see if a woman is flirting across the room. I can tell if a girl wants to fuck by how long she looks.

I'm in the car biz, someone like you would do well in sales. Forget the stereotypes of car salesmen, things are different. One of our salesmen made $320,000 last year.
[deleted] 9y ago
[deleted]
[deleted] 9y ago
Mercedes, BMW, Ford/Lincoln, Mazda and Mitsubishi. I'm in the US, so I can run North American Monroney stickers and factory features for those makes.
And I can do carfaxes for all makes. We pay a flat rate so it doesn't matter how many we run.
[deleted] 9y ago
I don't know jack shit about cars and couldn't even pretend to
but the guys who do it are fucking ballers to me, just pushing that dream on people.
[deleted] 9y ago
Confession: neither do our salespeople. You are not just tossed into a showroom. We sell Mercedes, BMW, Ford/Lincoln, Mazda and Mitsu. We put new sales hires through a two month training routine - so they understand titles, laws, credit applications etc. Then for Mercedes and BMW, there's another two months of training to get familiar with zee deutsche produkt. I think Mercedes sends them to Germany.
Car sales is unique. I wouldn't try it either. I'm too technical. Customers don't want to know how the car works or how Mercedes' collision prevention system does exactly that. So I'm basically in marketing
[deleted] 9y ago

i make music and am SO BAD at marketing myself

[deleted] 9y ago
This is great education you've got yourself. You got a lot of example, all of them a little bit singleway since you see people mostly in clubs. But experience is experience.
I'd recommend you to gradually drift away from bouncer job and learn . If you like to analyze people you can go to the business analysis kind of job (grow till the CEO) or you can be a psychotherapist which unfortunately require additional education where you live.
Now if you sit and read books - starting from the sidebar and gradually moving to advanced topics like strategy and psychology (which is really business is about) or even put advanced psychology in a mix you would be able to learn extremely fast since you'd map this ideas or statements on your bouncer job experience.
I don't understand btw why people are rush to get title or position. Clearly now you have a great advantage comparing with typical MBA student.
Grow and learn.
[deleted] 9y ago
i already have a degree lol
it's a useless one though so I'm gonna go back and do something general like "business" or "marketing"
TheRedStoic 9y ago
Have a business admin degree, and a marketing one, plus a philosophy one.
Skip the business one and go marketing, you'll learn business along the way just fine. Besides, selling yourself and product trumps in all ways. Especially if you're leaning towards entrepreneurship. After all, life is a string of self promotion. Most people don't understand this, and the ones who do often can't apply it correctly.
Edit: definitely marketing if your half good at music. You'll thank yourself. Pick up some entrepreneurship on the side. Thanks for an amazing thread, not just the original post, but taking the time to expand for each comment. More info there than in the post itself and the post itself (if brash and a little awkward in exposition) was excellent.
[deleted]
Sdom1 9y ago
Unless you are going back to an Ivy or close, stay the hell away from general degrees, especially business. It will be a waste of your time and money. Even for a focused program (more on this below) the rep of the school and program is everything - don't just go to some shit local no-name school.
Think of it this way, you're taking on a massive investment. You want ROI, and you need to do a lot of research to decide how much reward there is to justify that large risk. My recommendation is to go for something very focused and useful to whatever business/brand you're building, AND has a robust, high paying market for the skills and knowledge you acquire. This decreases your downside risk since it offers you multiple ways to monetize. So, if you're in music, maybe a focused marketing degree from a great program.
Those white guys in suits? Figure out which ones work on the business side of entertainment or whatever you want to do, and build connections with them. Those connections will be 20 times better than a degree, but they will also know what they look for in new hires and can probably guide you.
I'm sure you know most of this, but my main point stands.
[deleted] 9y ago
thanks, man.
I've going to do my research this time around but marketing looks like where i'm headed.
[deleted] 9y ago
Hey Ryan. How much money does it take to start a night club?
[deleted] 9y ago
depends what city and the area
I live in Vegas so you need fuck you money and investors.
RedditAdminsSuck_88 9y ago
And likely connections to the mob.
[deleted] 9y ago
I'm planning on becoming a furniture designer and property developer. I assume clubs buy furniture and stuff. Any idea how I can get into that?
[deleted] 9y ago
oh man you have to get to the club while they're in the process of building and planning
that's out of my wheelhouse
[deleted] 9y ago
Note to self: Analyze real estate markets.
[deleted] 9y ago
look for areas that are gentrifying, turning shitty areas into nicer ones.
go in there and RAMpAGE. go nuts.
[deleted] 9y ago
How will I go about doing that?
[deleted] 9y ago
read local news and local developments
entrepreneurship is a tough game
[deleted] 9y ago
Should I be looking for things like new real estate developments, new restaurants opening, etc. etc.?
[deleted] 9y ago
when they gentrify an area they usually do it en masse
it's like that South park episode where they fix Kenny's neighborhood. it's EXACTLY like that.
leftenant_t 9y ago
That's probably true in US but in European clubs you just get in and dance without too much drama.
beginner_ 9y ago
I don't know where you live but if you just get in, then it's not a high-end night-club.
leftenant_t 9y ago
You need to buy tickets online actually.
[deleted] 9y ago
i prefer euro clubs to be honest
other than the shit music of course
leftenant_t 9y ago
Shit music? Come on, best electro DJs are European.
[deleted] 9y ago
bruh ask anyone who works in a nightclub: that shit is AWFUL night after night.
it's why everyone is switching back to rap.
I prefer the techno crowd the rap crowd though, better tippers.
[deleted] 9y ago

[deleted] 9y ago
that's what I love about Vegas
there's no racism here, we just care about money and that's it.
techno people have baller money
Force0fWill 9y ago
Rap in an European disco? lol..
[deleted] 9y ago
The European disco traveled to America almost 20 years ago
2010-2015 they played mostly EDM with some trap and pop rap.
Now it's back to mostly rap
[deleted] 9y ago
Just reading this theory I probably gained three months experiences as a doorman in 15 minutes.
Question, how can someone identify if a nightclub is high-end enough for this type for wealth individual shop often?
[deleted] 9y ago
Look at the neighborhood it's in.
Look at how the staff is dressed.
Look at the line outside.
Do the bouncers look professional?
Look at the quality of women. Look at the decor. The signs are there.
[deleted] 9y ago
thanks a lot, those are good indicators to begin with.

Swoledinger 9y ago
Question for all who work at nightclubs/bars/stripclubs. How open to bribes/tips is everyone? I've started hanging out with old divorcees with lots of their ex-husbands money. We will go into a crowded spot, and they always seem to be able to "buy" us a table. These places will be nuts to butts. Maybe 10-12 people at a table. I'll be ordering a drink at the bar when I'll get a tap on the shoulder, turn around, and it's the bouncer. "Are you Swoledinger?" "Yeah" "A blonde lady got you a table over there". All of the sudden 5 of us are at a table that he just kicked 10 people out of.
I've never asked how much cash they are dropping on this, I'm just kind of curious in the event I want to try it. I'm not talking Vegas or LA clubs. More mid sized city. Say I wanted to jump the line or get a table, how much cash should I flow?
Side note. Older divorcees can make some amazing wing women.

I've just got a hunch here but something tells me you're Hispanic. I like to gamble so tell me if I'm right on.
Apart from that, you're post really interested me at the start. I profess myself to be good at reading people. Living in a though neighborhood, going to a shit school- makes it mandatory. You're experience is invaluable for the inexperienced guy and the people person alike.
So on to what you said
Could you share the entire list of indicators/stereo types and the fitting behavior. I'd love to cross check it with my own mental list. Thanks.

i'm black and german.
most high end security is black or samoan
most armed security or personal security is white because they look for those with military or police background and most rich white guys are just comfortable with white guys
questionthis 9y ago
This makes it really hard for me to continue reading your post. I feel like someone who would say this has no valuable advice to give.
EDIT: Read the post because you can't judge a book by it's cover. This post is entirely some self promoting Chad who needed a place to brag about his superhuman ability to attract drunk women as a bouncer and play guys for extra cash. This "Tiger" metaphor is just a BS afterthought.
[deleted]
imadazhell 9y ago
Attracting women, and playing blue pills for cash is acceptable subject matter for TRP. Might be some humble bragging coming from 3RG, but it's relevant.
Here, suck on my downvote
questionthis 9y ago
It's bragging with a half-baked point thrown in there to legitimize it. This isn't advice.
reigorius 9y ago
Exactly my feeling. A big, grandiose opening and honestly, meager content.
But hey, he is an endorsed contributor and ECs words are gospel.
Tinder is the culmination of judging books by their covers. So really nothing fundamentally new in this topic. I believe the gist of his topic is people claim a lot of things and pretend a whole lot more. To counter that is either to judge them as they stand or alternatively, pour alcohol in them and then see them as they are.
I think.
epixs 9y ago
Very good post man. Started working as a bouncer when I was 20 in college, 22 now. I never got a chance to work door since I didn't have the experience(also most of them were either older men or even partners/professionals) but I worked inside in multiple upscale nightclubs with bottle service and VIP areas, taught me so much.
I would read a lot of good TRP theory and then watch it being applied in the real life setting when alchohal made all actions primal. I would and still do test out theories I read and apply a lot of the theory when I work.
Sadly I leave for medschool soon, so I never will get to work as a doorman but damn did i learn a shit ton working nights their as a 20 year old .
[deleted] 9y ago
good man, the experience is everything
good luck at med school
ex_addict_bro 9y ago
Fuck, this is exactly the thought I had yesterday night. Got back from a cafe with my FWB. I thought we're one of thousands people who probably live very similar life, but shit, we want to live it. We want to experience it. Our egos, our brains make this feel unique for us -- but, we're a small sample of thousands or millions people who do the same thing.
Also, if you consider addiction, all addicts' stories sound the same - because, as every disease affects our bodies in the same way and addiction is a disease, you will have the same effects - in thoughts and behavior patterns.
Thanks for sharing!
[deleted] 9y ago
There are, in general, like 5 people in the world, and everyone is just a slightly varied copy of that
Sdom1 9y ago
If you are actually different, you'll know it because you will make people uncomfortable as their subconscious struggles to slot you.
What would you consider a hidden tell you've come across that even most people who can read people don't see? Something unique to your experience?
[deleted] 9y ago
there's little shit
like I always know when a girl's ID is fake because she'll say
"It's me I promise"
Bitch, my girlfriend lies to me to avoid getting scolded and she loves the shit outta me, you'll lie to me for fucking fun

Ever look at Miss Universe page. Go do so now?
Notice how all the women kinda look the same, just different colors?
RedEyesBlueShades 9y ago
Makes me think of a funny experience... went to a restaurant and saw three girls. All the same.
Same outfit, all summer white with skirt and top. Same haircut, straight blonde hair with curls at the front. Same attitude and mannerism, drinking with the pinky finger lifted and such. Same drink, white wine. Same pretty much everything.
And I distinctly remember thinking "How am I to pick one of the them... flip a coin, roll a die??"
[deleted] 9y ago
Women HAVE to fit in. They have to. They can not survive without society's help. They, like weak men and children, are completely dependent on their social circles and the societies around them.
ex_addict_bro 9y ago
Neg the shit out of them and choose the one that handles them best. Somehow I bet that all of them would be shitty at it.
RedEyesBlueShades 9y ago
Lol.... Was a rethorical question. Had a gf at the time, and I even pointed to her these exact same thoughts.
But yeah, I hear you. Just game them all and get the least bad.
ex_addict_bro 9y ago
I'm thinking about negs as a way to shit-test women, you can easily cut off all those BPD bitches with toxic shame. They don't have distance to themselves. At least this is what I believe.
HollowJoe 9y ago
TheeRyanGrey, who are some of the people who broke out of your stereotypes? As a guy who is a walking stereotype, I'm pretty interested in what sets those people apart.
[deleted] 9y ago
I'm a poor overweight black guy who preaches republican ideals, hates modern black culture, and likes the National and whose rap name is a play on a book by Oscar Wilde.
The reason I know stereotypes work is because I break all the ones about me and I know how rare I am. I rarely meet people like me.
Most people aren't me. I'm average in every way except that.
reigorius 9y ago
So, do I get it right: you're average in every aspect of life, but you are unique...?
I thought your post is about judging books on their covers. But your cover however is special? Sounds pretty much like double standard.
[deleted] 9y ago
Nah I'm completely average
I'm just different than my stereotype

Just curious...how do you deal with the different types of Asians. Just curious. If you could answer that would be very much appreciated.
[deleted] 9y ago
Asians are, other than Canadians, the single most docile, friendly, law abiding people I've ever dealt with.
The girls get too drunk all the fucking time but other than that they're fucking easy to deal with.

[deleted] 9y ago
Am 1.5 gen Asian American. Up until recently I had no idea why this was. Coming back from my home country, I can say why. First of all our culture is very collective. Everyone pitches in and the only thing they expect in return is respect and love.
But that same collectivist attitude makes them fucking horrible with money and so my old world remains a place of constant poverty and stagnation.
These two forces are the main reason for our middle-income success. 1) A strong desire to find harmony, i.e.: not rock the boat, and 2) We appreciate how much better it is here than in our old country.
Sdom1 9y ago
There are also biological factors at work that I think produce some of the qualities you mention:
High average IQ: East Asians range about 105 in average IQ, higher in some countries. IQ is inversely correlated with violent behavior for the most part. It also produces better career and health outcomes, raising your social class and further lowering violent behavior.
[deleted] 9y ago
[deleted]
Sdom1 9y ago
I'm guessing you didn't read my whole post, so let me quote part of it:
I understand Asia has produced successful warrior cultures. I was talking about random violence and crime. Warrior cultures are not so much about the individual fighter as the group working together. If that weren't true, blacks would rule the world.
The Mongols were a great example of this. Their dominance was mostly due to their mobility and tactics, not because they were incredible one on one. In fact, that's not how they fought at all; they were all mounted archers basically, which made them extremely mobile and capable of striking from a distance.
[deleted] 9y ago
Asians assimilate and join communities and THRIVE here in America. Love the people and culture.
Your women are going the way of white women though
[deleted] 9y ago
I think that's just a visibility issue. The Asian girls that throw themselves out there will leave the most lasting impression on you.
The ones you don't see are the ones in med school spending their nights in hospitals. (Sometimes in the same bed as me)
[deleted] 9y ago
One of my favorite clients is an Asian girl in med school. Asian girls have 2 forms
Hard working career girl or white girl ratchet mode
never seen a moderation there

How many Indians look like this? Usually the average Indian guy has moustache, huge belly, high pitched voice, bad personal hygiene and wears flipflops.
We have maybe 30 different nationalities in our uni and everybody seems to keep away from Indians. Reason is simple. Everybody else wears business casual while Indians wear flipflops on bare feet.

Yeah. They manage to spend a fortune studying here, yet when it comes to spending 30 bucks on clothes, it's suddenly too much.
bobawet 9y ago
Just a tip for anyone new to nightclubs...stop going to nightclubs and expecting to score if you aren't throwing serious money around. I do allot of work in Vegas clubs and most of the sluts there are atmosphere models and are paid to be there and are not going out on the dance floor waiting for your greasy ass to grind up on them. They don't give a fuck about anything but money, fame or power.
[deleted] 9y ago
Either throw money around or SEEM like you can throw money around.
Nice suit and dress shoes. No exceptions. Have a good haircut.
Also obey my 5 minute rule: Touching within 30 seconds, kissing within 5 minutes. If not you're wasting time.
bobawet 9y ago
Yes I agree with those points but think it's important to not be outcome dependent on the evening. Go out and have fun, if you don't get your dick wet don't sweat it. I see too many guys with desperation in their eyes..just wish more people went out to actually have fun.
[deleted] 9y ago
If you go to a nightclub you're spending alot of money to get in
You are very outcome dependent at that point
[deleted] 9y ago
Hi a bit off topic but can you tell me can a skinny guy get into VIP security ? I'm not talking a bouncer , I mean with a gun and protecting high profile clients etc.
[deleted] 9y ago
Armed Security is a different animal.
they're looking for police and military backgrounds
[deleted] 9y ago
Thanks for answering this ,Would a thin short guy be accepted as a police officer ?
[deleted] 9y ago
you'd have to ask a police officer

Loved it. Been clubbing for more than a decade and I can only relate to what you are saying.
Guys: clubs are the worst place to pick up girls. Just go there enjoy the music and have a good time.
[deleted] 9y ago
and fuck bitches
if you just want music buy speakers and chill at home. don't pay 15 dollars for a cocktail that some 25 year old hot chick made like shit.
go to clubs with one goal: fucking sluts as quick as possible
Laimbrane 9y ago
Of course nightclubs are an accurate reflection of society as a whole. /s
[deleted] 9y ago
Very much so
I love seeing the precious little girl next door you obsess over rubbing some buff dudes cock while yiu watch and fantasize and call him a dumb jock
When the lights are off and liquor and sex is in the air people are who they really are.
The women and men you see at work or behind your computer screen are who they pretend to be
Laimbrane 9y ago
You're missing what I'm saying. There are two types of people - those that go to nightclubs and those that don't. You're using your experience with the first group to generalize about both, when in fact the two are likely very different.
[deleted] 9y ago
What I'm telling you is more people go to bars and clubs than you realize
I get every type from all across the globe
I met one of smartest dates of life, a charming little brunette from mit at one of my clubs.
People who never go to nightclubs telling me my clientele always makes me laugh.
It's not you personally I just laugh at all unearned opinions
[deleted] 9y ago

[deleted] 9y ago
I like both of your perspectives, and I've always got the same vibe as you did. Young people who throw around money like $800 is nothing go to dress up and play pretend D list celebrity. The women, as the OP stated, don't even realize they're a commodity.
I always liked hearing the stories of the clubs inviting a real athlete/celeb to come party for an hour, and they pay him about $2000 just to show up and have a good time on the house. They also give him tables filled with bottles and women, all so the young crowd thinks that's how celebs live their life at these places. Great marketing!
Now guess who drops 4k a night every time they go clubbing because he thinks he's the next MLB sensation a year away from a real contract? Some amateur on a minor league team that's blowing through their signing bonus on bottles of Vodka that cost the club $50 each. He'll wash out like the majority of them and the signing bonus eaten up by the businessmen who run the night life. What a rake.
[deleted] 9y ago
I don't understand the tiger part please explain. How do you recognize a tiger and why should you run from them?
Grimsterr 9y ago
I think the gist is, if it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's a duck.
[deleted] 9y ago
Take a LITERAL tiger. You're walking down the street and you see a LITERAL tiger. Do you
A.Stop and see if it's one of the nice tigers
B. FUCKING RUN
Its an analogy based around the idea that enough experience about a certain object or person or idea can lead you to making quick decisions based on said experience.
I.E: If you see a woman in shorts with her butt cheeks hanging out she's not wifey material and never will be.
reigorius 9y ago

I live in Vegas and Vegas is like alcohol:
people use it to be EXACTLY who they are.
If a girl comes to my city and fucks 8 guys in a week, it's not her being "outside" herself, it's her being exactly who she is but isn't allowed to be because she knows the consequences.
I told the story a long time ago about a keg of non-alcoholic beer and watching a bunch of women lose their shit and act drunk and get nasty.
[deleted] 9y ago
Makes sense. I'm a clown when I drink. I juggle. The thing is, I can't juggle when I'm sober.
[deleted] 9y ago
this made me laugh for a good 10 seconds
a GOOD 10 seconds
[deleted] 9y ago
Yeah, no shit. I don't understand. I think its because I'm relaxed and not rigid I can compensate for the unexpected movements of whatever I'm juggling.
You can see I'm an accountant. Previously I was IT and computer science in undergrad. Areas that generally don't have the most personable people. I don't get the chance to "shine" as much as I'd like. Hell, I've posed nude for art classes for the past eight years. Made so many friends that way. Now two photographers want to use me. Between studying for the CPA and this, I'm beat.
[deleted] 9y ago
dude i don't know why but I can't stop laughing
just picturing you and juggling and being unable to do it
i'm fucking dying
[deleted] 9y ago
Its like Popeye and Spinach, except with Jäger. I'm not a big guy, so after two of those I can do it.
CornyHoosier 9y ago
Story time!
I've been hooking up lately with this GM of one of the nicer clubs here (she was brought out here from New York to run the thing and get it up and operational). She is like a Madam in regards to her establishment, looking like a viper at everything until she needs to crack a smile and rub some elbows.
Now I'm pretty much the most anti-club person you've ever met, but a buddy of mine was having a birthday and wanted to go to this place. I agreed and love a good party, so was getting weird with a bottle of whiskey & started pouring some random-woman-beside-me drinks. Later I got a text from her around 4:00am asking "what I was doing" and found out the next morning she was the GM.
Anyway ... so I decide to go check this place out again the next weekend because she promises me more free booze. That's when I really start watching how she operated. Almost to a T, she was directing her VIP staff, bar manager and front door security like it was a fucking process (which seeing now, it is).
I asked her about it later and she alluded to the what OP was talking about. She said something along the lines of, "It's just people wanting to get fucked up and fuck, and we're here to take their money to help them do it". It's a crazy world that I'm content watching from the outside. I'm okay with having a woman who will just text me asking to come over later in the evening/morning for sex. I don't have to do a damn thing! Besides, she'll probably be back in NYC in a few months, so fun and done.
From TRP side of things ... her male staff look better than I do, but she literally calls them her "kids", so she clearly doesn't respect them. Doesn't matter how pretty you look; if you don't have frame, you aren't getting anywhere.
[deleted] 9y ago

Antidote here, be of certain types, have limits, boundaries, and the ability to walk away. Make a million for her and her boss, and she will. They might create drama for the sake of it, but so do eager and hardheaded bosses.
Thank you very much for sharing and you are absolutely right about club and it's reflection of a powerful part of societies. Also about reading stereotypes and treat them accordingly to however one chooses. Never visits clubs unless work requires. Some pretty crazy ones the larger and richer the cities. Got redirected from /DataBeauty.
[deleted] 9y ago
they'll take credit for it somehow
every female boss i've ever worked with passed the blame and took the credit
geo_gan 9y ago
must watch out for this. i'd say it's even worse with the middle managers taking your good work and telling her boss how well the project went with her in charge and getting bonuses from a bonus pool while the person who actually did the work gets nothing
BlackJ1 9y ago
I'm really glad you make this post because a lot of times we always get this "Don't judge a book by it's cover" bullshit. The reality of it is that you can tell A LOT about a book from it's cover.
I'm young and only worked in a few fast foods jobs and after awhile with dealing with people you can just kind of tell what you are going to expect from their facial features, posture, and movement.
It's really not that hard.
J_AsapGem 9y ago
the thing is not everyone is conscious in the moment so however they are as a person if you pay close attention it will be revealed to you and as you said, you can read a book by it's cover or atleast get an idea of how that person may be.
[deleted] 9y ago
why? the title and author and pictures are all on the cover
books are rarely more intriguing than their cover
h-jay 9y ago
You still need to know what to look for on the cover :) Perhaps the graphic was done by a famous designer, whose cousin is your bro in law, so obviously you drank quite a bit together. Perhaps the font used for the title comes from a foundry you were obsessing about as a geeky kid who's into typography. You have a letter from the foundry's then-retired and now deceased co-founder - who certainly was happy to reply to a kid with such unusual interests. Perhaps the cover is embossed with a holographic sparkly film that your business supplied half of the production line for. See, the information might be out there on the cover, but it can take quite a bit of knowledge to understand what it means. And then some life experience to know how to act on that meaning.
[deleted] 9y ago
i don't need to know any of that shit to do basic cold reading
bleomasters 9y ago
I know its mostly groups, but What about a Average looking Single guy? If he walks in, buys bottle service and Just plunks himself down in the VIP area? How do you guys handle that? What all does he get?
[deleted] 9y ago
If you buy a table we will pamper you, especially if yiu tip security
It's amazing how we magically find hot girls for you and all your friends
bleomasters 9y ago
Hahahhaha, I guess I framed the question wrong. A solo guy walks in, buys bottle, does the security look at him like he is weirdo or the above courtesy is extended to him anyway. I wanna do it and just want to make sure, I dont look like a weird psychopath.
Clint_Redwood 9y ago
Going to compound on this.
Redpill is here to teach you how to become your own man. It's fine to mimic the successful because that is what the innital phase is here, faking it till you make it. But the long con of the redpill is you need to become your own man.
If you can build yourself into someone that doesn't fit a stereotype because you are the one that created you, by following your own path and didn't do what everyone else told you to do, you will stand out socially, sexually and financially.

"archetype" is the word you're looking for.... follow that rabbit hole for a while and you will understand a lot about human consciousness and behavior, and why "unclassifiable" can be useful.
TheRedStoic 9y ago
Oh that's simple. The mind likes heuristics. Throwing a wrench in the archetypes bothers it, and people will focus on it. (you'll be memorable).

7 years bouncer, for years bartender and 3 years DJ. I spent most of my youth in Clubs and Bars.
Now I'm working as VIP security guy but that's all I can tell.
Cold reading is inborn - I don't believe ot can be learned. I was doorman in almost all of the clubs. I loved the job very much. Too bad it doesn't pay the best anymore and also at least in Europe things are risky today and clubs are mixture of toughs, drug dealers, refugees, far right and other risky groups. Girls are very clear about who they will fuck and that created lot or competitiveness between guys.
If any lesson related to women is to exist, that I could give to you it would be: approach. Regardless of status and everything, if you saw what kind of incredible low status suckers, losers, bums, ugly stinky stupid guys with literally nothing going on on their life manage to pull big quantities of quality pussy you wouldn't fucking believe.
After so many years of bouncering and game it's still a mistery for me. But lot of times forget everything you've read here and remember: SHE WANTS THE DICK. At the end of the day that's all she wants. And you have it.
[deleted] 9y ago
man i can't imagine being in europe right now with this refugee nonsense
i feel so bad for european men and women
[deleted] 9y ago
I was working in Balkan night clubs which was fairly good. Still dangerous but 99% of problems was due to much alcohol consumption. And drunk dudes are easier to predict and to handle. There wasn't any real hate.
Unlike in Germany where I worked recently, where in any international city you have clubs full of guys who wants to jump on each other without any alcohol. Dancefloor is filled with few groups: white betas, white alphas, jacked black dudes, refugee like black dudes, arab dudes which feel they are entitled to everyone inside. Put in some alcohol, drugs, aggressive music and CRAZY bitches and working as a bouncer nowadays is not so good anymore.
Streets in Germany are also more tensed due to refugees and honestly other black (even Indian dudes) those motherfuckers are walking around feeling entitled and just in few months I can recall at least ten times I saw predatory groups looking for a prey. I almost got attacked few days ago because I didn't want to break eye contact..but two dudes estimated (rightly) that I'm better to avoid. Otherwise I would really break some refugees ass.
Things are shitty so I choosed to work as VIP security which I was able to accomplish due to some connections and multilinguality and of course experience.
It's not going to be nice. There WILL be a moment where right oriented people will raise...and then boom we're going 100 years back to Street wars.
An_All-Beef_Engineer 9y ago
What on earth does that look like? Captain Phillip?
[deleted] 9y ago
Ugh it's hard to explain. What is for sure is that many guys are WAY too jacked for refugees.
An_All-Beef_Engineer 9y ago
That's beyond strange. You have any pics? Is there some sort of widespread steroid usage?
[deleted] 9y ago
There is nothing strange about it..guys are not eating shitty foods and are lifting... = jacked. It doesn't take science fiction.
I want to say that if they were real refugees they wouldn't have time / wish / place for lifting. I was a refugee as a kid and I know very well.
[deleted] 9y ago

Great post.
Question: Fight breaks out, it's over by the time you get there. Do you even question what happened?... or immediately toss the guy that's standing there saying "he started it man."
[deleted] 9y ago
nah, we grab both parties, ask questions while another guy asks the men in the crowd what happened
worse comes to worse we check the cameras
NietzscheExplosion 9y ago
I see, thanks. Upscale clubs for me now then...
Trouble tends to come at me, especially when I have a few and let my guard down. I'm a happy /extremely funny drunk, usually with my girl and hot friends and guys get jealous and get the idea they can knock me down a peg. Getting too old for that shit, I look young for my age so that doesn't help, not that some punks respect their elders.
Always thought high end clubs were too snobby for me, but perhaps its the best way to give the girls a good night out.
[deleted] 9y ago
Never go out with your girl and her friends. Ever. Ever.
Get male friends.
NietzscheExplosion 9y ago
uhhh no way, that is boring. Almost always a sausagefest, with the girls, more girls come dance and slut it up on the dance floor with each other, like my own near strip show.
I'm not gonna go find some bar bros to club with and play games with them. I realise that's fun for younger guys but I'm way past it and over it.
I think we just figured out and very untapped market of club patron..?
I'll take your first three words. Never go out...
[deleted] 9y ago
how is going out with girls and watching them slut it up while young alpha males come try and knock you down fun?
i don't understand?
if you want a strip show go to a strip club with your guy friends.
If you're too old for all this nonsense than why go out with girls while they do nonsense?
like i'm trying to follow here
NietzscheExplosion 9y ago
Have fun? Usually a pretty fun night if no one fucks with us too seriously.
If security is tight, sounds like my usual problem (if I have it) is not a worry. Guys who try shit are never alpha males, always jealous losers. It's just tedious.

security's job is not to stop guys from hitting on the girls you're with
I'm just trying to understand how going out with your girlfriend and her friends is fun.
Like, do you guys have 3somes and shit? Do you get to watch them fuck each other? Is your wife down for freaky shit?
I'm genuinely trying to understand here, please don't think I'm insulting you
NietzscheExplosion 9y ago
heh, I don't care if they hit on the women (or take them home even...or the parking lot, though I wish I didn't see that lol). Just don't want them attacking me without any provocation.
My woman maneuvers girls around to avoid guys, kinda funny to watch. I won't get into our personal life too much, but she doesn't do other guys (but never know right), certainly doesn't seem to be interested at all in dancing with guys other than me. Pretty sure she just wants to get drunk and have some laughs.
[deleted] 9y ago
but they have provocation
you have a bunch of girls with you

I'm a born buddhist. I'm into equality, social and otherwise. I'm multiethnic and egalitarian.
Stereotypes are useful as fuck. Never ignore them. Let people prove otherwise, but the way they come off and present themselves are the byproduct of decisions, conscious and subconscious. If you can read them, use 'em.
[deleted] 9y ago
you are who you pretend to be
so be careful who you pretend to be
fortuneandfameinc 9y ago
Never run from large, predatory cats. You'll trigger their pursuit instincts and end up dead.
Also, the TL;DR: is basically: People conduct themselves in a manner that corresponds with the way that they present themselves. Super insightful.
chris_sydney 9y ago
Never run from large women? But whyyyyyyyy? I can run faster then they can roll.
[deleted] 9y ago
man don't ruin the theory by making it literal lol

Good post. Reading everybody in any environment is crucial!
[deleted] 9y ago
I don't bring handcuffs or any of that shit to work. Never need it.
If you can read people you can avoid 99% of problems.
Whenever I wanted a slut I knew where to look. When I wanted something dateable I knew where to look.
When I didn't feel like fighting I knew who to avoid.
I can guess people's ages, tell who is drunk or on drugs, who is super feminists, who is urban, who is educated, all that Mentalist shit, all thanks to practice and diligence.
If you can't walk into a room and identify the people in it you need to practice more.
Stythe 9y ago
Have you considered doing a post on signs that people fit into certain demographics? I did cold sales on the street for a while and started to subconsciously be able to place people, but I'm not where I want to be. Something like that from someone who can consciouslt identify these signs would be an awesome read. Or is that the statistic post you're alluding to?
[deleted] 9y ago
man it'd be easier to just ask me about certain things and have me answer them, ya know?
Stythe 9y ago
I'm basically wondering what it is you see that gives people away. You know, clothing, posture, speech mannerisms, etc. Things to look for. There's not one in particular I'm interested in, I was just curious about anything standout I might find interesting.
h-jay 9y ago
It's not easy to explain such things in the form of a decision tree. Our brains are great at picking out patterns and internalizing them an implicit form. We don't really know how exactly do we acquire speech just by listening to other people speak, yet we do just that in spite of not understanding the process. People reading skills are similar: they are mostly about implicit knowledge that's not easy to transcribe into an explicit method. We attempt to explain our decision process, under the incorrect assumption that we themselves understand our decision process. Such explanations are, to a large extent, after-the-fact rationalizations and don't capture the hidden, implicit process that our mind has learned. We can't read our own minds very well in that respect.
We have enough trouble explaining how to solve math problems, where the decision-making process is seemingly rather well understood, or at least the rules you're bound to are. Yet most of us won't be able to describe all the choices of the methods, tricks and techniques we had available, and then choosing the one to solve a problem. We sure can describe how we solved the problem, but not really all possible ways of solving it we had available, and how we narrowed their choice. People reading is not all that different: you might be able to explain how you figured out a particular person, but the steps you took to do it might be very specific and themselves a result of a selection done based on implicit knowledge gained from experience. If someone else then tries to apply the same process to read another person, they'll get garbage results.
Stythe 9y ago
This is true, but I think retrospectively looking back on verified confirmations on your assumptions of people can lead to good insights you can share with others. For example, it's said a lot here that tattooed girls with short dyed hair and piercings are more likely to be promiscuous. In fact, it's highly likely. When you analyze the reasoning, it makes more sense as those traits tend to coincide with attention seeking behaviour, rebelliousness, masculinity and aggressiveness so you can likely assume the girl is highly sexed.
The same example applies to guys wearing suits. You can assume they either have money, or work with people who do. Chances are they think highly of themselves. Looking closer at the quality of their suit and their ability to match clothing gives you more to read.
We may not consciously understand how we know these things, but looking back makes them clear in many cases.
h-jay 9y ago
TIL that all of people's attention, rebellion and aggression is there to get laid:/ Maybe that's true in the kind of people who go to clubs a lot - and even that is a big maybe IMHO. I guess these observations only work at a club entrance, but if you seriously applied them on the street you'd get in deep shit, at least where I live.
Stythe 9y ago
I'm not sure where you drew that conclusion from.
[deleted] 9y ago
There's obvious shit like how they dress---dudes in suits vs. dudes in baggy clothes
posture wise you can just kinda tell the guys who are going to fight and those who won't.
Once you see the same things enough times it becomes self evident
Sdom1 9y ago
Guys who start fights are probably the easiest cold-read there is. It's in the way they talk, the way they make eye contact, invade boundaries, etc. And there's always a feeling they're just waiting for that moment. Fuck those guys.
[deleted] 9y ago
Exactly.
The true killers and fighters I know are the nicest people, there is an air of confidence when you KNOW you can defend yourself.
Like Miyagi said, you learn karate so you don't have to fight
Stythe 9y ago
Yea, I guess I shouldn't have expected anything specific per sey. Nothing is 100%, I was just curious if you may have been able to hit anything that I wasn't aware of. What you say is true though. Doing face to face sales gave me the same skill to an extent, though I wasn't able to completely understand things until certain aspects of my life clicked. Now it's more amusing since I know what I'm looking for.
[deleted] 9y ago
exactly.
occasionally you're wrong but that's ok, that's the good part, when someones defies expectation.
No one ever went broke expecting people to break expectations.
Stythe 9y ago
People who defy expectation tend to be the most interesting. Or crazy. Either way they do catch your attention.
[deleted] 9y ago
exactly!
my way of life doesn't hinder them, it makes them more enjoyable.
I love when people break the mold, they just don't very often
ThumpNuts 9y ago
Despite all this stuff being over-simplified and fairly obvious... something stuck out to me.

Stereotype is everything. There is a said something like if you want to be something, then act like that something. If you want to be a skateboarder, you don't dress in a suit and skateboard.
[deleted] 9y ago
Looking at a dangerous animal and going FUCK THAT is how our ancestors got us to this point.
The world is fast and busy and we don't have time to ask every tiger if it wants to eat us. We just assume he does until rolls over and lets us pet his belly

My favorite bar that used to be the one place that I could relax as a place to discuss Red Pill topics has recently turned itself into a nightclub.
It totally sucks.
So now I really have no bar to go to anymore.
My town as a whole is going down the "Agenda 21" path so it's a bigger problem than just that bar.
[deleted] 9y ago
Yeah man I feel you
MY favorite bar got squashed between new clubs and eateries and refused to change
I love it
chris_sydney 9y ago
Keep it coming, Ryan. It's good stuff.
[deleted] 9y ago
The one I post today around 4 pm is gonna hurt the sjws feelings
It's called Statistics From The Nightclub
chris_sydney 9y ago
Are you gonna post it here?
[deleted] 9y ago
yup
SmilingWatermelon 9y ago
Looking forward to it. Any tips on getting into the club scene? Im a 6'2 guy but I currently only way around 175. I lift but would that be enough to get on security? Or would I be better as a bartender or something of the sort?
[deleted] 9y ago
Bartending is the best: insane money, hella biches, good view of the world
but you'll have to start as a porter or barback and work your way up
SmilingWatermelon 9y ago
I see. Not sure what those are but ill look it up. Thanks
Libertarian-Party 9y ago
Hey let's say a guy lives in a major city with an insane nightlife. How would a young guy get his foot in the door if he didnt have nay previous bar/security/restaurant experience? (And if he's also not a big black guy)
[deleted] 9y ago
man the service industry is all experience and who you know based. experience is so fucking important but your best bet is to go directly where you want to work and talk to a manager and SELL YOURSELF.
A little hustle and being attractive goes a long way
[deleted] 9y ago
True that contrary to what liberal teachings showed you the cover tells you all the book is about USUALLY.
However that being said sure for 90% of regular people they aren't special but there are people out there who have earned it and ARE. Difference is they actually ARE SPECIAL and have made themselves that way whether they are Billionares or certain top personnel in their niche.
Marxist we're all the same shit applies to the average person NOT the person who's strived and made something of themselves.
[deleted] 9y ago
If I told you there was a 90% chance a tool would fail and a 10% chance it would work better than you expected would you use it?
most men say no, that's a bad investment

top post was
slap his butt and tell him he looks hot.
Like...what? HUH? WHO THE FUCK DOES THS? THIS DOESN'T WORK IN REAL LIFE LIKE IT DOES INYOUR FANTASIES.
Now I'm going from hitting on your girl to knocking you out in front of her.
