Hello TRP. I am a long time lurker and this is my first ever post on Reddit, I wouldn't be posting usually, but I found this to be very interesting and how feminism is fucking up our society. Apologies if I make any mistakes.
Hello- I was about to go to sleep early tonight, when I came across a post on facebook that I’ve decided needs addressing. I am a woman who has worked in cardiology for my entire career. I have been a doctor for over 2 decades, and have worked for the American Heart Association.
The post was regarding the current go red for women’s campaign from the American Heart Association. As you may or may not be aware, this is a campaign sponsored by the government to rise awareness in women about cardiovascular health.
This post was by the official facebook page of my son’s high school, aimed at the students and raising awareness in heart disease risks in young people.
But here’s the problem- the entire program was aimed at heart disease awareness in women and girls. All the information was presented as “for girls”, and no mention was made of boys.
The post was encouraging parents and students to take note of leaflets that were to be given out in school tomorrow with heart disease prevention tips.
Now, I am a mother of 2 sons and a daughter. One of my sons is 18 >years old and in high school- the school were the leaflets were being distributed. He brought one home and asked me about it, and honestly, I was quite shocked. The leaflet only made mentions of heart disease prevention for women-and only women. In fact, the leaflets were only handed out to girls. My son wasn’t even given one!
Needless to say, I wasn’t pleased to see my son being completely excluded from such important health education. It left a very bad impression on the students-a few boys were left with the impression that men didn’t get heart attacks or heart disease, and only had to worry about cancer.
What was the absolute worst was what I noticed on the back of the leaflet- the program was sponsored by the American Heart Association.
This made me very upset. It is NOT right to leave teenage boys out of potentially life saving medical education because they happened to be born male.
However troubling this may be, it is unfortunately unsurprising. As part of my work with the American heart association (AHA), I have a first hand role in the creation of public programs, and overall association research and directive. Throughout the years, I have noticed a growing trend that has been seeping in through the cracks that I can stay silent on no longer.
Men’s heart health is being heavily restricted due to feminist influence. As unusual as it may seem, it’s the truth. Numerous national women’s lobby groups have gained significant ground in the political direction of healthcare in the government.
The go red for women campaign is intended to raise awareness in women’s heart disease. The campaign is justified by the claim that women have been left out of heart disease research, and that women’s heart health is behind that of men’s.
The truth is, heart disease was and continues to be significantly worse for men than women. There is no doubt that from the perspective of a cardiologist, it is much more advantageous to be a woman.
As a woman, I must admit that I am secretly very relieved to be female- I see first hand how much younger and more easily men die from heart disease. I can also assure you, as someone who has spent 25 years in cardiology treating patients and overseeing research, you couldn’t find a single female cardiologist who-if being completely honest- doesn’t feel the same way.
Statistics overwhelming paint a grimmer picture for men.
The average age for a first heart attack in men is about 64.
For women, the average age for first heart attack is about 73.
About 40% of men will suffer a heart attack in their lifetime.
For women, this number is 15%.
The average age of death from all heart disease is 70 for men.
For women, it’s 84.
21% of men over the age 65 have Coronary heart disease.
This number is 10% for women.
Every cardiologist on the planet will tell you- heart disease is much worse for men.
You may have seen the often quoted fact that more women die of heart disease than men, and this is true- but it isn’t as black and white as it seems.
The simple fact is that so many more men than women die before the age of 70, that there simply aren’t enough men left to die in heart disease at equal numbers with women. More women die of heart disease in old age simply because there are more women who reach old age in the first place. Men still have higher rates of heart disease at all ages, and are more likely to die of heart disease at all ages.
It is often said that the reason more attention needs to be paid to women’s heart than men’s is because historically, most cardiovascular research was conducted on men.
But this quite misleading.
More research was done on men in the past because so many more men actually did die from heart disease from women. The life expectancy was lower, so most people didn’t live enough to reach the age where women died from heart disease.
The truth is, the historical heart research that was conducted on men had an almost equal benefit for men and women. It did very little to close the gender gap, and men continue to develop and die from heart disease at a statistically significant younger age, on average.
It’s commonly known the the U.S life expectancy is around 75 for men, and 80 for women. However, life expectancy doesn’t tell the whole story. It’s an estimation based on a few murky inconsistencies in research.
Many doctors prefer to look at average age of death. This is the age where people most commonly die- the age where the majority of people die.
When average age of death (AAD) is considered, the gap is much wider.
Doctors commonly use the 65% range- the range where 65% of people will die.
65% of American men die between the ages of 68-72.
In comparison , 65% of American women will die between 83-90.
This is a 15 year difference. This means that on average, men die of “old age” 15 years younger than women do.
Currently, very little heart research is currently being done on men by the AHA. Nearly all new research is focused on women’s cardiovascular research. We are given directives to conduct research aimed exclusively at women, and for the last 2 years, 95% of research subjects have been women.
As a mother of 2 sons, I am NOT ok with this. Very few doctors are. However, if anybody tries to speak, they are immediately suppressed and silenced. They are pressured to stay quiet. Their careers are threatened.
This is because the pressure of feminism is forcing the American medical system to alter scientific truth in favor of political leverage and favoritism. Feminist groups have gained very large lobbying power and have gained substantial influence in the medical field.
There isn’t much I can do about this in my position, except for telling as many people as I possibly can. Until more people are aware of this and demand something be done, it’s only going to get worse.
Now I really am exhausted and must retire to bed.
Thank you for your time.
TL;DR : Title explains it but I'd recommend you read everything. If someone makes a better one I'll edit this. Thanks.

This makes me very very sad. I can't describe it more eloquently than that, it just makes me deeply sad. Especially considering a friend of mine's father died of heart disease If my fiance were to have heart problems later in life I want him to be cared for properly. We are 22 year olds right now and I'm hoping that by the time he reaches old age this won't be an issue anymore and more research will have been done But my heart aches for men This shit just isn't fair.. Feminists always spout their "equal rights for women" bullshit but they absolutely do not want equal rights... not without keeping their female upper hand. They want to have their cake and eat it too.
WeAreAllSheep 11y ago
It's because men deserve death according to feminists.
[deleted] 11y ago
I bet you enjoyed that affirmative action, though.
lel.
But that's besides the point. Perhaps men being beasts of burden, and having to undergo daily rigors of extreme stress also contributes to the lower life expectancy.
jacobman 11y ago
This is a really really good post. I too was disturbed when I started seeing the promoting of wear red day. I wish that this was a major topic of discussion on the reddit front page, but unfortunately it's very hard to argue against things that are good for women.

hows that democracy and hen voting treating you?

Pisses me off when the NFL does that asshattery pink month nonsense in October. The funny part about it though, is that the NFL keeps like 98% of the "charitable donations."
CouldntFindGudName 11y ago
Women are gullible fools. Every time you see a women she is the damsel in distress whom someone has to help. Yeah I don't mind spreading awareness about deadly diseases, I think it should be done but don't make it at the expense of men.
The truth is women are the majority spenders and men are the earners. We learn to save money while they learn different ways to waste money. When NFL shows this pink month shit these women will open their wallets and spend the money (which most of the times their husbands have earned with their hard work) and give for charity.
Men's protective instinct will kick in and they'll maybe donate some. The sensible people will know that for NFL this is just a PR stunt. I am all for saving people and killing diseases but let's hope it goes to the right place.

This just makes me sick.. feminism really has just fucked everything up. After reading this I really cant understand how someone could ever support something that condones this.. fucking disgusting
[deleted] 11y ago
I wish there was a reset button... to life. Just... At least when men were in control, they would push for research for heart disease regardless of sex. Women just want shit for women. Fuck what all of them say. NAWALT bullshit.
This is why I'd never vote for a woman. I don't give a fuck what they say. Politicians are bad enough, but female politicians? Especially nowadays? Let me give you an example, once there was a Sultan of the Ottoman Empire named Sultan Suleiman Han [ra]. Who fell hard for a slave girl named Roxalana. It so happened, during her time with Sultan Suleiman, she had his best friend killed and Chief Vizier Ibrahim killed for suspicion of treason. All she did was plant doubts in the heart of Suleiman, and Suleiman cut his own foot off, himself. The power of a woman is seduction through the senses. Her words, her gaze [please, every beautiful woman knows how to work it], her scent, everything about her, she puts to work on our senses.
She had Suleiman kill his own son [Mustafa was from a different mother, otherwise, he was the most preferred for succeeding Suleiman as Sultan by the soldiers. Shehzade Mustafa had the most potential]. And because of this, Suleiman got even more paranoid, started freaking the fuck out and killed two of his other sons for the same reason. On suspicion of treason.
Roxalana wanted one thing. Power. For herself. Otherwise, Sultans before Suleiman, Sultan Mehmet II [ra], I shouldn't have to tell you what he did to earn the title, The Conquerer. Sultan Selim Han [ra], Yavuz Sultan, father of Suleiman, who was so strict that he had many of his viziers killed for incompetence. Once his vizier asked Selim to tell him when he plans to kill the vizier so the vizier could have some time to get his debts settled.
Sultan Selim Han laughed and said that he was indeed thinking of killing the vizier but hadn't found anyone to replace him with. My point is, men are strict. And don't bend to the will of women. Now, I've mentioned kings, and there is lots of bloodshed. The seat of power is very strict, and ruthless. As Aurangzeb, The last Mughal Sultan said in his autobiography, "Kingship knows no Kinship."
Once a woman comes in power, it means hell for men. Men however, do things that are beneficial for everyone. The latest article that I read on ROK was, "Why the patriarchy is a good thing," or something like that. You should never obey women. Ever. Not even once. Hate me if you will, but life is very merciless about who lives, and who dies. You get caught once in the jaws of a snake, you die. Its the venom that kills you. Not the snake.
Beware of the venom that comes from women. It'll ruin you. Like it did Sultan Suleiman Han.
And if you want to keep a woman in control, keep her bent like the bone she is made from, [if you're an athiest, good for you, try to follow the analogy]. The bones of the ribs are bent, you can't straighten it by force at the risk of breaking it, nor can you bend it even more, for it will become unruly and improper to call a rib. You keep that shit like it is. A little stern will here and there, a little lax temperament every now and again. That'll do you good.

Yeah, heart disease is awful, and it's criminal that men don't get the same information access or support here that women do.
Hence why it's all the more important that men are aware of what they can do for their own chances here. We can't leech off welfare systems and productive people the way women do, so some things are up to us:
Get annual blood checkups, and don't wait until you're in your 50s to start checking on these things. Even if you're in your mid/late 20s, blood work once a year will highlight blood triglyceride and lipid profiles, high cholesterol/bad cholesterol ratios, and other warning markers that you can address early.
Hit the gym or a running/cycling track. No brainer here. Lifting is great, but cardio is good for the heart as well.
Eat sensibly. Cut out shit like processed food with tons of additives, or HFCS loaded shit. Instead of emulating the fat feminist eating ice cream out of the half gallon tub on her couch, eat fresh veggies, fresh meats, egg whites, fruit, nuts, etc.
redpillbanana 11y ago
This makes me rage, which sucks because I'm probably harming my heart health by raging.
Mainstream feminism is probably killing more men than followers of The SCUM Manifesto could ever hope to.
So they're giving it to us with both barrels - first by causing stress by attacking us with divorce law and VAWA (not to mention just pissing us off in general), then by cutting funding for heart research that could help the increasingly stressed-out men with heart disease.
CouldntFindGudName 11y ago
Yes indeed, you're so right about them trying to kill us. All they want is to find their utopia like an extremist group. "once all other religions followers are killed and only our religion will survive then we will have world peace." or "give us everything we want, and only then can the world be at peace."
They will never listen to rationalism, they will never listen to men, or even women who think that feminism in it's current state is wrong.
I too used to get raged (still do) but we need to know that we have so much in our head already and worrying/getting angry will only be bad for us.
To be honest I'd give them a whole country, all feminists who think they are better than men, all females that think their feminist sisters are right can join them too. Only redpilled women will be allowed to stay with us. I'd give them a big chunk of land, or any place they want. And then watch them fail while me and my friends laugh our asses off.
IllimitableMan 11y ago
In this hypothetical situation they'd claim oppression stomp their feet and refuse to leave. You know why? Because feminism is a parasitic ideology. They need functioning, rational, productive people to feed their cause. They need an enemy to paint to operate in the shades of grey (pun intended.) Their ideology could not maintain itself without anything to feed off. In a feminist society they couldn't take the victim position because everyones pro feminist and therefore nobody is a victim, no girls would get tingles, nothing would get done and shit would fall apart. A primitive society could not support feminism, it encourages too much inefficiency and psychological trauma. Feminism is the result of a civilization where machines replace the roles that men used to perform, thus allowing women to relegate their dependency to technology rather than men themselves. The funny thing is that its men who maintain all the tech that we have and it was men who invented the vast 99.9% majority of it to begin with.
CouldntFindGudName 11y ago
Absolutely! They want to complain, every single day of their life, the only way to control them is to be ruthless and not be a pussy whipped beta.
The rest of the paragraph is genius, I don't even have to expand on to anything else, all I can say is bravo!
boomfoom 11y ago
Truly great post. I submitted it to /r/bestof , but they have a bot stating that they don't accept submissions from this subreddit.
Either way, great post.
CouldntFindGudName 11y ago
Thank you. Reddit is a big circlejerk which consists mostly of women and massive amount of beta males. Anything you say or do which they don't like gets downvoted into oblivion because they can't face criticism and reality. You are luck, some of the members here have gotten banned from other sub reddits just because they post on/subscribe TRP. Even when their comment had nothing to do with TRP. Some get their comment history dissected and their genuine comment is thrown out just because they talk here. Truth is that people don't like change, red pill is hard to swallow. It's in contradiction to everything they have been told and that's why they'll do everything in their power to stop us.

There's no way they could get those studies approved by a rational IRB, nor would pharma companies want to take their prime target audience out of a study critical to their drug's success.
Nan_Ren 11y ago
There was a lot of pressure on me at my job to wear red yesterday and donate to this program. Fuck that.
As soon as I read the e-mail about this, my first words were, 'What the fuck is this? We're not talking about cervical cancer here. Fuck if I'm supporting or donating to it.'
I got more crap than most because I work for a company that interacts with charities... that's what we do. But for fucks sake... a male employee of this company died not three months ago from heart disease. How can people forget that so quickly?
edit: OP, please post the link. I'd to get involved in that discussion if it's still going on. That shit pissed me off.

I really want to see bluepill's take on this.
Probably something like #traitor, #all of my female friends have heart disease and #probably a man
CouldntFindGudName 11y ago
Ha ha. I guess all those accusations have already been made. Or they'll just say it's someone from TRP making this post.
It's interesting that any female who agrees with the grievances of men or says that feminism is bullshit is labelled as traitor, or she is uneducated/unaware, and the best one. "she is supporting men because of patriarchy. She is suffering but she just doesn't know it yet."
Every female who supports a man and red pill is slammed on the floor, they try to ruin her reputation, public shame her. This generation feminism is a radical movement and like all radical movements they thrive on censorship. In the end blame would somehow come towards men. She is like this because 'men did it to her.' Lol.
CptJackSwallows 11y ago
I felt like this about all the breast cancer walks etc, they are always targeted at woman and no mention is even made of the fact that men can get breast cancer thus reducing awareness in the male part of society.
On a side note, men could be more effected by heart disease because they tend to do harder work than women in more stressful environments with large amounts of pressure to earn more money etc
Dantes_Purgatory 11y ago
Men: what would be the point to living an extra fifteen years, without your wife alongside of you? What woman wants to face fifteen years without her loving husband?
This is not mere selfishness (though selfishness explains the many idiot followers); feminism is nothing but the suicide urge.
These Feminists hate men, they hate women, they hate children, they hate happiness, they hate their loneliness, and they hate company. Nothing they do or say ever benefits anybody.
They want to destroy themselves, but first they must destroy the rest of us.
What vile creatures they are.
CouldntFindGudName 11y ago
Couldn't have said better myself. They are destructive.
Clauderoughly 11y ago
Again this is feminism using human hard wiring to care about women, for their own selfish ends.
Society at large doesn't care about men, because men are the disposable gender.
You can present facts like this, but it does not good because feminism operates on the lower caveman brain (feels!) and logic operates on the higher human brain (logic)
The stats clearly state that men do worse in almost every measure of health, society, homeless, drug addiction, sexual assault, violent crime etc.. but women get all the attention.
This won't ever change.
haltingstate 11y ago
This is a legitimizing myth of gynocentralism. Humanism rejects this and would demand equality based upon gender. Marxism would say that men are a victim class (a proletariat) and are oppressed. That men need to raise "group conscienceless" and organize to represent their interests.
Feminists have demonized all attempts at raising class conscienceness. They have tied getting MRA movement declared hate speech). All man organizations are illegal, but all female organizations are legal. All male schools are banned, but all female schools are legal.
They have barred men from participating in the feminist movement because modern American feminism is gynocentralist feminism, not equailty feminism. Men in the movement are acceptable to an equality movement, but undermine objective of raising female class conscienceness in a gynocentralic feminist movement.
Women are now 60% of voters. Gynocentralists have powerful lobbiests. They have infiltrated education and our universities. They have infiltrated government and media. They direct research dollars to "science" that legitimizes gynocentric ideology. They marginalize, threaten and pressure researchers who produce results that contradict the prevailing gynocentralic ideology.
Male voting participation has steadily decreased since 1960s. The trend needs to reverse and men need to regain political representation in government.
Men need to

Usually referred to by feminists as "mansplaining".... ei. when they are too dumb to understand what you're saying so they revert to their previous, tenuously constructed ideology while never actually responding to the substance of what you said...
Mansplaining, because discussion and debate on a point-by-point basis is, like, boring.

this is just depressing. I am getting the feeling this is a massively misdirected and a badly targeted social experiment on a mass scale with its natural ending point being destruction of society and civilization as we know it
Clauderoughly 11y ago
Meh, but it's not something you have any control over, so don't waste time worrying about it. The best you can do, is be the kind of change you want to see in others.
Social change is as slow as a glacier, and I am sure in 50 years they will look back at feminism and laugh about how stupid it was that they could have thought that men and women were equal.
Look at how much society has changed in just 50 years.
50 years ago (1964) the US was only just starting to dismantle segregation.
Feminism will be relegated to the dustbin of history and society will re find it's balance.
Men will always have it harder than women, that is never going to go away but who the hell want's an easy, lazy life ?
If I had the sort of life women had, I would be a horrible person too because I would never improve because I would never face any serious hardship.

Best case scenario: We will refer to this period of our civilization as the First American Republic 1776-20xx
Sumeria, Babylon, Egypt, Persia, Rome fell and we lived on. Then the (Carolingian) Holy Roman Empire fell, and we lived on. Then the Byzantine Empire fell and we lived on. And then the (Middle Age) Holy Roman Empire fell, and we lived on...

I can understand why you feel it is depressing, I felt the same and I feel the same when sometimes I am reading about TRP and such but then I realize, we can't complain it's up to us to fix ourselves. Your feeling is right. Feminism is a massive shit test. You handle it like a shit test. What Clauderoughly said is true too, we can't worry about something we don't have any control over. The day I learned that was the day I started to lose my anxiety, to a certain extent at least.
Again, this is a massive shit test and the way to deal with it is to improve ourselves and people who are near us.
trudatness 11y ago
When all new research on heart disease is focused on women - that's a signal that certain elements of society are failing the shit test.
CouldntFindGudName 11y ago
A huge part of the society is indeed failing the shit test. Look no further than our justice system. It is so much skewed in favour of the female gender it makes me rage.
Girl hits a man? Gurrl powah! Guy hits a girl, or even defends himself? Bloody cis scum cave dweller.
Girl falsely accuses someone of rape? His name is on offender list, the society labelles him as a predator, he loses his job, school etc. The mob justice is cruel, they won't wait for the verdict whether the guy is guilty or not. Females know that they can get away with these accusations and they use it. But what's sad is that they are doing harm to the females who have really been raped. A whole generation has failed this shit test and if this continues then the next generation will too.

Anything men related is not shown much light because "lol, you're men, you don't have any problems."
If a man complains he is a pussy, with feminism around, you can't be 'nice' or diplomatic and expect to get things done for our own good but you have to be strict with them.
Man has been hammered almost everywhere. Court. Hospitals. Education. even home. and yet we are classified as the gender who is privileged.
It is amazing how we survive with all these things in our opposition.

kneeonbelly 11y ago
I know you're joking but I honestly wonder just how much men's health decline can be additionally attributed to I-don't-give-a-fuck-anymore/I'm-so-tired-of-this-shit-itis that many men experience as they segue into their "golden years" in an unfulfilling and loveless marriage. I'd be very interested to see how the statistics change for older married vs. unmarried men, or based on the length of the marriage. I don't deny the biology of it, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn that men are just that much more willing to throw in the towel by that point.
FugitiveAlpha 11y ago
I was honestly only half joking. In my experience, old people get old (fast) when they get lonely. Both my grandmothers died shortly after their friends did, and they very clearly lost their will right when that happened based on the things they were saying. It's EASY to extend this concept to men losing the will to survive because hes miserable, not to mention thousands of studies that show mental state effecting health.
Clauderoughly 11y ago
We may have been given the short end of the stick, but we know how to sharpen it and make it at deadly weapon.
Men are gifted with the sheer rat bastard cunning to SURVIVE no matter what.
We always have, and we always will.
CouldntFindGudName 11y ago
Exactly, this is what I believe. We are the hunters, men hunt women and no matter how many challenges they will throw at us, we will always find a way to go around it.
We need sex and we will get it by complex strategy or by simple solution. What feminists don't have is the constant drive and determination to reach their goal. A man will be brave/foolish enough to fight a battalion for his cause but a female cannot and will not fight alone. The only time a female will attack you is when she knows you won't be able to retaliate or when she is in a group. One female will not protect or try to save another female at her own expense. But we men, we will go to the end of the world to protect the ones we love. And this is why Females will never win this war. Ever.

charlesbukowksi 11y ago
there is no war mate. let's not make up a perceived threat, like feminists.
the reality is society is governed by sensibilities and everything we see today with regards to discrimination against males is a function of those sensibilities - which, since the broad adoption of women's suffrage, has come to be dominated by the emotionally frail.
it's not all bad though, much good came from this sensitivity. collectivization and progressivism in a large part owe their success to these empathetic voters.

Bad choice of words on my part. They aren't a threat per se, but they are definitely trying to ruin shit for men. But yeah there are better things that we all can learn from this.

Oh men are being left in the dust?... oh.. ok society.. surely there will be zero backlash.

Feminism and gay rights are bad for society.
CouldntFindGudName 11y ago
Feminism sure, but I don't really know about gay rights. Although I do think most of the feminists with an evil agenda are lesbians who despise men and then these straight females will join their "sisters" without understanding what they are getting into. Feminism is anti male. They want to strip the power off of the men and take it for themselves. Patriarchy is their own projection. Men in power don't deliberately keep women down but these feminists would and that's why they think that men do the same.
They had to lower the bar of entry for female firefighters and still very few passed. How is this even logical?!! Fire isn't going to wait for you when you are trapped in a home. Maybe they think fire will say."oh! A female firefighter is coming to save you? I'll wait here for a few minutes. Gotta give them "equal" opportunity you see. I don't want to be labelled as misogynist"
God forbid if you ever get trapped in fire pray that men who are quicker come to save you.

This is the second post about the Go Red campaign here. I'll add some facts about it for the curious.
First, it's been going on for nearly a decade:
http://blog.heart.org/go-red-for-women-timeline/
According to this AHA blog post, the impetus for the campaign was a survey about women's perceptions of heart disease:
You can read more about that survey here:
http://circ.ahajournals.org/content/109/5/573.full
and about the GoRed campaign here:
http://circ.ahajournals.org/content/111/4/383.full

Also, look here if you want to compare clinical trials on heart disease for representation of men/women.

Who else is sick of hearing all about the feminist adds for breast cancer?! Like yes that's awful that you get it but it's ridiculous how many I end up seeing! And not to mention the fact that there are rarely any adds for men's health at all...!
dudebro48 11y ago
Femenism makes me so depressed. I don't even want to be a part of this fucked society anymore.
DasWood 11y ago
Just another form of warfare. Feminist groups want to further skew the numbers more for women as much as possible. I just made a post in another thread like this. However if feminists can restrict men from getting proper treatment and die as early as possible while making sure women live as long as possible the skew towards female voters will increase allowing more and more radical agendas to become mainstream.
Suppose the voting trends stay the same but they succeed in skewing the population ratio from .97 men to women to .94 men to women, or even .9 men to women. That would make the voting men to voting women ratio would be less than .85. Women would easily win on every issue they want every time.

Yeah, the OP on /r/self doesn't write about heart disease like a doctor, and another redditor on that thread found a post from another throwaway with the same attitude about gender bias in heart disease prevention.
alt30313 11y ago
Regardless the reactions are real. The downvotes and anger the content caused is telling. Arguing that there needs to be women only issue education vs education focused on both genders shows how much they care about men.
6TLaRm4g 11y ago
There's no hope of empathy from feminists. What we have to do is deflect any feminist idea there is as much as it is in our power. Because they won't care. Those feminists could literally kill a man and still present themselves as victims, they are as messed up as you can get.

"Women live longer than men, because they aren't married to women"
Alan King
CouldntFindGudName 11y ago
Lol. And when they say women can be happier than men. It's total lie too. On an average lesbian couple divorces are two times than gay couple divorces. (I am on mobile right now so can't cite, if you want i will find the source once i get on pc.) This proves that women can't live with themselves, they aren't happy at all. On the contrary gay men are happily married. Once the same sex marriages are open everywhere these females will realize how they are unhappy and the root cause of all problems around them. Although i do think they'll just hamster and blame it on their lez partner but the point still stands.
[deleted] 11y ago
Can anyone cite this claim? If true I'm shocked
[deleted] 11y ago
It's false. You can do the math on the first chart:

The quoted post provides no citations for its claims (some of which have been debunked) and is from a brand new account -- I highly doubt this is a medical professional; I think we're dealing with an MRA extremist/troll.

Another concern I have is the fact that Women suffering from Breast Cancer have had more awareness than Men suffering from Prostate Cancer. Cancer is a killer for both genders but Breast Cancer has more media attention than prostate cancer.
Although this recent advert to raise awareness of Prostate Cancer shows a glimmer of hope for Men's Rights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yXCNKGiXoQ
Discipulus_Eruditae 11y ago
You can commercialize Breast Cancer to women unlike commercializing Prostate Cancer to men. Look at the 30 million different Buy this PINK (thing) in support of Breast Cancer Research that woman gobble up as if they are "heroes" in a "battle." Men are too intelligent to fall for such dipshit nonsense. Cancer kills, but only certain ones are going to make someone rich and therefore get the massive media exposure.
deepthrill 11y ago
It's a fair point, but I can attest from personal conversations with employees of the NIH that as long as congress is made up of primarily old men, even if there's not as much awareness, there will always be funding for prostate cancer research.
zirzo 11y ago
because breasts /end of bad joke
KafkasTrial 11y ago
Slightly more men die of prostate cancer than women die of breast cancer each year (at least in Australia) but prostate cancer is generally less lethal and strikes later in life. The difference is that by the time men hit 80 like 80% of them have some form of prostatic cancer (note that this doesn't necessarily kill them or cause any kind of loss of quality of life).
If we started from a blank slate would funding naturally go towards breast cancer over prostate cancer. The reason? When you consider population health you have to justify the cost of an intervention versus how many DALYs (disability adjusted life years) you save. In Australia the maximum you generally want to pay to save one DALY is $50,000 (think of it as how much the government thinks that one DALY will cost them in terms of public healthcare). Generally breast cancer strikes earlier and is more severe so if it costs the same to screen the population for breast cancer over prostate cancer you would do that as you are getting more DALYs for your dollar.
None of this is really an issue nowadays as breast cancer has heaps of funding that it doesn't need but I'm just trying to point out how the current system came to be.
xtr3m 11y ago
Compared to prostate cancer breast cancer is less lethal, infinitely easier to spot, and women are much more likely to visit a doctor. It's men that need the awareness, yet we spend billions painting everything pink.
KafkasTrial 11y ago

thro_way 11y ago
I think you might be thinking of testicular cancer. Prostate cancer is one of the most benign types of cancer.
boydeer 11y ago
i have heard that the reason for this is that while most men die with prostate cancer, few die from it. in other words, money would be better spent on something else, since men don't live long enough to die from prostate cancer usually. i cannot confirm the veracity of this statement without some googling.
obviously, the feminist choice is to spend the money on women, but we can probably come up with something better.
votequimby 11y ago
While that is true, prostate cancer is still the second most common cause of cancer-related death in the UK, and sixth most common cause worldwide. With the way the developed world is going with regards to the ageing population, prostate cancer is only going to increase. Plus, the treatments for advanced disease can be pretty nasty, with lots of hormonal side effects, plus the chance of erectile dysfunction and urinary retention.
Couple that with the fact that men can present late because they are less likely to visit the doctor, and the whole stigma with men seeking help etc, I find it pretty shameful the lack of awareness it receives compared to breast cancer.
Mooshaq 11y ago
If you want to help out, participate in Movember – it's supposed to be for raising prostate cancer awareness. A lot of us donate to a charity for prostate cancer research at the beginning of November. Movember is a fun thing to do, especially to see the negative reactions of certain women (mainly feminists) around you. You'll get shamed for growing a mustache (even though it's for cancer awareness) by at least a few feminists.
Sure it's nowhere near as publicized as female breast cancer is, but it's gaining some public interest finally.
CouldntFindGudName 11y ago
ha ha ha, only a sick person like a feminist would get angry when someone is raising awareness for something as serious as Cancer. They are sick in their head.
Typical feminists. Trying to shame men for being men. All the while their sisters are screaming "where have all the good men gone?"
They died you entitled cunts! and you killed them!
fuckeh 11y ago
Wow I don't know how I would react if someone tried to shame me for participating in Movember. Sure, my mustache looks silly, but the cause is important. Both my grandfathers had prostate cancer, I have had 0 family members with breast cancer, in fact I only know one person personally who has breast cancer.
I just hate all forms of cancer really, and breast cancer gets loads of attention already.
Froztwolf 11y ago
It's been picking up a lot in the last few years, which is great to see. :)
[deleted] 11y ago
I thought you were joking about feminists hating on Movember, but nope: http://alagarconniere.wordpress.com/2011/11/30/expecting-a-bit-mo-from-movember/
Apparently it's offensive to those who can't grow virile facial hair, and the focus on prostate cancer is offensive because "not all men have prostates". What the fucking fuck.
Mooshaq 11y ago
I wish I were. Every November without fail, I get at least a few telling me the mustache looks stupid (it doesn't hit its full glory until week 3) and that Movember is a stupid cause. Apparently it's very childish, and I should find more mature ways that don't oppress women and strengthen the patriarchy by excluding women (most women cannot grow mustaches) from this event.
God damn this author is such a cunt. I stopped reading once I saw "cisnormative" and "heteronormative." Listen, I respect that some people are transgender and they should not be thought of as freaks, or attacked, berated, whatever. But the point is that they are such an immensely small percent of the population, that they don't need to be taken into consideration in every fucking thing that the average person does. If they can't grow a mustache, just donate $5 to a cancer charity, buy a Movember shirt or just shut the fuck up and support a guy that does grow a mustache. There's no reason to cry oppression because your genitalia and your brain are not on the same page.

I literally sell out of pink toolboxes every time I get them in stock. The only difference from the cheapest toolbox is that Susan Komen for the Cure gets a cut of the increased markup.
mbr902000 11y ago
Komen is a fraud. 43% of 2011 revenue was spent on "education" while a mere 15% was actually spent on breast cancer research. Not only that, they put a trademark on the phrase "for the cure" and actively used litigation to shut down anyone else that used that phrase in a charity that may have actually donated to research.
RedBigMan 11y ago
I can't help but be grateful when we see stories of women realizing how fucked men are. I have a feeling though if she wasn't a cardiologist or had 2 teenage boys we might not even be hearing about this.
Also you want to know why men die of heart disease so much sooner? The constant fucking stress they have to deal with that's why.
PS: Thank god for Movember.
[deleted] 11y ago
The candle that burns twice as bright, burns half as long.
votequimby 11y ago
Oestrogen is also cardioprotective which is why incidence of heart disease increases after menopause for women. Meanwhile, men who are hammered with stress throughout life as well as not having the same cardioprotective benefit that oestrogen confers are afflicted with heart disease much sooner and much more often. It would clearly make sense to aim awareness and research at the men who are at a much greater risk throughout their life from heart disease, but sometimes we live in a world that doesn't makes any sense at all.
[deleted] 11y ago
Such a stupid comment. Women deal with stress just as much as men, dude. That has literally nothing to do with why men have more heart problems than women and saying so is ignorant.
The OP had a great article but when you drown it down with worthless comments like that it spreads misinformation to all the members here, especially because your endorsed.
CouldntFindGudName 11y ago
Yep, you're right. I am happy that she at least realized it, even if it was due to her own kids being innocent victims.
You are absolutely correct. Women claim they are mentally stronger, but I am willing to bet one of my balls that if a woman had to go through the daily stress of a guy for a few months, she'll turn mental.
I have read the comments on the original post. They are hammering this female for just telling everyone that there should be equal awareness and her children(who happen to be boys) should not be left out.
Massive downvotes going her way.
Look at this.
93 upvotes and 85 downvotes. Why? because she used logic? Or did she say something that the females and mass circle jerk of the world doesn't like? This is really sad.
IllimitableMan 11y ago
Meet lesbian journalist Norah Vincent who did exactly that, she convincingly posted and lived as a man named "Ned" for months, the experience of living like a man traumatised her so much she ended up in a mental hospital.
No shit, it's easier, she should know. She lived 18 months without the pussy pass. For science. Good on her, she made the effort.
CouldntFindGudName 11y ago
Oh yeah I remember the thread about her. I haven't read the book but I certainly read her excerpts. She said men swear to each other with love. Entering a group of men was easier than making a place for herself in a group of women. Men helped her when she/he wasn't able to perform. They had fun passed jokes. She tried to pickup girls and was surprised to see what a man has to go through just to get a number. Or how no women would give a second look to guys. She experienced the difficulties for 18 months which we men face all our lifetime. She can go cry on a shoulder, but men are supposed to 'man up'
I haven't read much about her recent book "Voluntary Madness" but I am sure going to have a good look at it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Ip7kP_dd6LU
9:30 to 11:30 - This shows how difficult it is for a guy to pickup girls. Notice how the female changes her tone as soon as she is told Ned is Norah.
15:30 - 17:44 - This is where the breakdown really starts.
What she missed tho is that she thinks men's sexuality is pure physical. I can count several times when I would not pursue a girl despite her being pretty. Also she missed that guys can't talk about emotions to other guys. Well I have my best friend and we talk about almost anything, it's just that men only share their problems with a rare number of people instead of broadcasting them all over the world.
Her last sentence says it all, "Being woman is a privilege."

She has horrible grammar for someone so educated.
alt30313 11y ago
You are not wrong but I think it's foolhardy to assume that good grammar indicates intelligence. Some of the smartest people I know have poor grammar. Lots of average people have superior grammar.
I think focusing on the grammar and syntax takes away from the lessons that can be drawn from the post. The reactions are real. The downvotes and anger the content caused is telling. Arguing that there needs to be women only issue education vs education focused on both genders shows how much they care about men. As another poster pointed out one of her comments received 93 upvotes and 85 downvotes. It's clear reddit is split on the issue into two different ideological camps.

Feminists are pointing fingers telling us to stop pointing fingers, the irony is palpable.

If by present differently you mean a lack of chest pain, the same thing happens with diabetics and the elderly (male and female). All of those populations can not know they have experienced a heart attack, but it would still become part of statistics once diagnosed.
Women are protected from heart disease for a large proportion of their lives due to oestrogen, so in this case it would make sense for the majority of public awareness and research to go towards men who are at a much greater risk from heart disease for a much larger proportion of their lives. In addition, the research would benefit post-menopausal women anyway once the protective benefits of oestrogen lessen. I honestly find the present situation pretty sad and ridiculous. Research and awareness should be aimed at whichever population is most at-risk from a certain condition, regardless of if they are male, female, elderly, child, diabetic etc.
[deleted] 11y ago
Remember, the claim of disparate funding most likely applies to private funding of basic and some clinical research. This doesn't take into account the main source of research funding: government funding through the NIH.
Basic science research is undoubtedly important, but what will really drive improved outcomes in the short term is new drugs and clinical trials to evaluate the effectiveness of different therapies compared to established standards of care.
Who is funding that? Pharmaceutical companies, who could care less about anything else other than the bottom line. Men suffer from heart disease more than women? Great, let's target drugs for them. More money for us.
