Sure, there are many obstacles and moving abroad is not a smooth transition for anyone. However it is still a goal that is achievable for many if not most especially if they are still young. Older men who are single are also prime candidates as they'll have more resources at their disposal and can even retire early in a low-cost country.
Working overseas is a goal that can be achieved. If you work for a large multinational then there will probably be plenty of opportunities to work abroad, from a short stint to a permanent assignment. They may even give you a great package for housing and "hardship" pay on top.
