so i googled this and apparently acute testosterone secretion is supposed to increase after resistance training, but whenever i exercise before going out on a weekend i feel much more sluggish and passive than if i don't. just a small thing i noticed, but i do wonder if i should stop working out right before a date or when i go out out meet women; does anyone have the same issue?

Here is the correct answer.
Yes, working out can lower testosterone because testosterone is a function of many factors that working out hard negatively impacts acutely. But, testosterone is not your issue because libido is not only a function of testosterone.
Libido is mainly a function of neurotransmitters and one of them is dopamine. Dopamine is depleted during a hard workout, so is noradrenaline.
Think about it like this: your mental energy is limited and a hard workout has a draining effect on your CNS. That’s supposed to be like that because a workout induces all kinds of adaptations depending on your hormonal, neurological and immune system. Adapting is very energy consuming for your body, so your CNS has a developed mechanism to get you the rest that you need. Why do you think bodybuilders only sleep, eat, train and repeat?
So. Manage your training load, length and days if you want to have energy for a specific event. Don’t go deadlift on a Saturday morning when you want to party it up at night. You’ll make no gains, you’ll potentially get a cold and youlll have no fun at the party.
Managing training load and intensity and adapting it to your lifestyle will help you make the most gains that you can without impacting your social life negatively. Since we are not competitive bodybuilders here, we need to train to ENHANCE our life, remember that.

More of your energy being depleted after an intense workout, causing sluggish and passiveness. As nother person has stated, its also a crash from caffeine.
Strategize your workouts/supplementation to fit your priorities if the gym isn't #1.
I still workout before a date. My workout is way more important than any person besides emergency family concerns or close brothers. Better to meditate before a date.
It'll also keep you in that chill state where you can observe the woman, ask more questions & get her talking.
Think about it. Does an apex boss try to impress the people he's trying to hire? Or does he let them impress him?

I don’t consume caffeine ever
Meditation or maybe some cardio seems like a better idea

Working out too long causes a kind of toxicity from cortisol. Workouts should be 40 mins or less
It's possible you are also working out too hard/eating huge meals after. Huge meals will make sluggish as will working out to hard
If any of this applies to you

It can be a burnout problem, get cold shower afterwards and add creatine for ATP.
Going out pumped up is the shit.

I'd bet money there is something he is doing during or after his workout that is not good for his energy. Pumps before dates are always king for me. Damn certain OP is doing something counterproductive that he's not even aware of

The only thing that comes to my mind is overtraining. I used to do that, around 3 hours 6 days a week, sometimes twice a day. The burnout was real, but I was making mad gains at the beginning. Tone it down to 2 hrs.

Long-term, working out increases those things. Just make sure you're getting good nutrition and sufficient rest.

Do you take any pre-workout?
AbusiveFather1 2y ago
Nope, don’t even drink coffee or tea
