So rn diet is mainly:
Eggs, yogurt, canned tuna, ground chicken/turkey breast, + x1 4oz serving of flank steak/filet mignon/tenderloin etc etc (basically leaner steaks; more protein less fat), scallops, and veggies w every meal + a green smoothie in the am.
Always hear ppl say oh it’s bad to eat red meat every day; I’m kinda assuming that mainly refers to ppl eating McDonald’s burgers daily.
All of my food is like organic/wild caught/grass fed and locally sourced (I shop at farmers market).
Am I gonna get cancer or is having a little bit of steak every day sustainable?
Goingthedistance 1y ago
Let it go with the canned tuna brother. Tuna is full of mercury and once you get mercury poisoning it's not gonna be a fun month for you.
I doubt that red meat is gonna cause you any health issues as long as you keep the fat on the low. However, I would advise you to have some diversity in your diet and get as much meat as you can get vegetables into your died to not fuck up your system.
I don't trust vegan stuff and I refuse to eat it out of spite.
financehardo420 Should i (x1) 1y ago
Wild caught skipjack; lowest dose of mercury
Goingthedistance 1y ago
Ah, that one. Then it's alright.

Disclaimer: I’m not a doctor, this is not medical advice.
The evidence pointing to red meat being carcinogenic isn’t concrete; oftentimes the population being researched is already at-risk groups who are not fit nor eat a healthy, balanced, organic diet. This is if we’re talking about steaks, ground beef - unprocessed meat; processed meat (deli) definitely seems to be much more dangerous (because of added carcinogenic chemicals), and a lot of times processed and unprocessed red meat are bunched up together when they say that red meat causes (gastrointestinal) cancer.
Red meat (cow, deer, bison, etc) is probably one of the most nutrient-rich foods you can eat, but you can still avoid it and thrive, if you want to stay on the safe side: fish, poultry, rabbit meat, etc.
It could be argued that humans have eaten red meat for tens of thousands of years just fine, but then we didn’t know about cancer; people could’ve been developing GI cancer and the cause of their deaths could’ve been misdiagnosed.
Personally, I eat red meat a lot (every other day at least). I too get worried, and what I can suggest you do is get regular colonoscopies and blood screenings.

P.S. Animal fat is actually very important from a nutritional standpoint; I would actually strive to have more of it, whilst raising the amount of fruits and vegetables I get (for fiber), and decreasing the amount of grains. Currently, most of my carbs come from fruits, I don't really bother with veggies.
financehardo420 Should i (x1) 1y ago
I used to basically be 100% grain free diet and got all my carbs from fruits n veggies. Fuckin hate most veggies (hence why the green smoothie) however I’d get pretty pooped in the gym eventually. Starting to incorporate brown rice/sweet potato but just 1 serving a day.
I started out w way more fruits than veggies but sugar content can get too high so now it’s more of a balance. Also got this thing called “chop wizard”; slices and dices veggies. I just throw in a green and red bell pepper, a cucumber, and a red onion + cilantro + sum feta cheese n basalmic vinegar shits delicious. Throw some in my scrambled eggs and have a bit w each of my protein meals.
AbusiveFather1 1y ago
keep in mind, fructose from fruits is not the same as consuming cane sugar. what kind of fruits do you eat usually?
financehardo420 Should i (x1) 1y ago
Yea not the same but like if you only eat fruit instead of veggies for fiber you’re lookin at like 50-60g of sugar; fruit sugar or cane sugar that’s still kinda a lot haha.
I usually just throw in an apple and a banana in my smoothie; plus have like some raspberries/blueberries whenever I find a good deal
EurasianChad 1 1y ago
Literally anything can cause cancer, even breathing air. You can never fully prevent it.
Even if red meat caused cancer down the line, I still would keep eating it. I cba getting protein from only fish & chicken or God forbid...vegan sources.
You'll be fine.
financehardo420 Should i (x1) 1y ago
Meh fuck vegan shit lol.
Idk im eastern European and both sides of my fam die in like early 90s to early 100s. They all chainsmoke cigs but their diets are all like gmo free/organic cause pesticides n shit not really a thing there.
I’m paying the premium for organic shit/grass fed beef/etc bc I wanna live long as fucc lol
Lone_Ranger 3 1y ago
I personally would not bother eating red meat. It cost more than chicken, and its higher in fat. So what is the point?
I guess you're prob asking on the wrong forum. I'd be asking on a forum that is 100% focused on nutrition for athletes. I'd be interested in hearing what they eat - but my guess is that its protein about 4 times a day. something like that.
financehardo420 Should i (x1) 1y ago
The point is it tastes fuuuuucking delicious and as dongking mentioned it’s gr8 for test
Lone_Ranger 3 1y ago
You're probably correct!
Far as i can tell, the advice has changed on fats. High quality fats (such as you would find in good beef) is probably useful for you.
Your brain is something like 90% fat, apart from the water.
financehardo420 Should i (x1) 1y ago
The only kind of truly bad fats are the processed ones as far as I can tell; and mainly just the shit from stuff like potato chips. Deep fried fats not so good
Lone_Ranger 3 1y ago
I think the golden rule is that complex fats are fine, as long as they are not heat treated. That is why you should only have virgin olive oil (cold press).
dongking 1y ago
The point? Well, red meat is way, way more nutritious than chicken. Better/more amino acids, much higher in vitamins and so on.
FYI fat isn't bad for you nor what makes you fat. On the contrary, it is actually necessary for hormones like testosterone.
Personally I rarely, or almost never, eat chicken. It has almost 0 nutrients apart from protein.
Google Stan Efferding The Vertical Diet. He's coached some of the worlds best athletes, strong men, football players, MMA fighters etc. with beef as the prime source of protein. It's pretty much the optimal diet if you're looking to improve your physique and hormones etc. as a man.
financehardo420 Should i (x1) 1y ago
In hs I used to want to be an Olympic swimmer like Phelps lmfao so I ate about 2lb of chicken breast daily. Got to a point where I never wanted to fuciin eat chicken again lol.
However: ground chicken titties + the right seasoning is absolutely fuckin delicious big fan
Lone_Ranger 3 1y ago
I guess ultimately the golden rule is to eat chicken and red meat, fish and fruit and veg. And the totally avoid the following;
bread, sugar, alcohol. Those three are the undoing of any athlete. They ruin everything.

I fucking love booze but I’ve been cutting back. Realistically just waiting till I’m back to 10% bodyfat and then I’m back to boozing (but trying to keep it casual @ 4-5 drinks in a night instead of binge drinking).
Never thought I’d live to see the day where I admit pot is the real enemy lol
Lone_Ranger 3 1y ago
If you could get pot and booze out of your life forever, you'd be amazed at the man you would become.
Sobriety is the superpower.
financehardo420 Should i (x1) 1y ago
No booze sounds awfully boring
Lone_Ranger 3 1y ago
It's actually the reverse. When I'm at a party and I see the guys boozing, getting smashed, I see how boring it is. It's the same experience over and over, on repeat. Every session is the exact same as the last one. They even tell each other the same stories and jokes, over and over.
My life only got interesting when I canned the booze.
Acela_nextel 1y ago
I’m just curious as to how much this costs per week $$$. Is this intended for a lean bulk or just maintenance?
financehardo420 Should i (x1) 1y ago
Average spend ranges from like $150-$200 or so a week; not that bad tbh. It’s for lifestyle I’d eat the same way whether bulking, cutting, or maintaining just adjusting cals/macros
Lone_Ranger 3 1y ago
I'd rather spend $200 a week on a great diet than booze and pot.
There are loads of dudes spending $200 a week on booze (its hard to spend less than $100 in a single night, esp if you're very unwise and buying sluts drinks ).
You can eat very high quality food for $150 a week. Throw in $20 for gym membership and you're on the right path.
financehardo420 Should i (x1) 1y ago
I mean true; big fan of healthy clean eating. I prolly spend $150-$200 a week on my diet and I think that’s pretty reasonable.
At this point only point I see in going to the bars/drinking is getting laid/finding new sluts lol.
Pot is nice to mellow out with but it’s a very very fine line between being a productive man with a slight vice vs becoming a pothead slob.

As with a lot of things, some times there is not a definitive answer
This meta analysis of 25 studies says the magnitude of the data is not sufficient to determine risk
This meta analysis of 148 studies says there is an association of more cancer risk
paywall removed version of the above ^ article
This meta analysis of 36 randomized-control trials says switching from red meat to plant diets results in favorable blood fat changes but not switching from red meat to other meats. Randomized control trials are probably more likely to include general population versus people that got studied in a hospital etc.

I wish there was a feature where you could award 'most useful answer'. Cause I would click it for that one.
Any mods reading - how hard would it be to have a 'most useful answer' feature, that people could click?
Vermillion-Rx Admin 1y ago
That's generally what upvotes serve as, but ask all developer questions to @redpillschool, no other mods/admins have any access to our dev or ways to suggest it

Yea I mean I lowkey am kinda sus of a lot of info these days; esp if it’s government sponsored.
Like same gov that told us oh go get the COVID vax/quercitine isn’t a valid treatment ends up admitting the vax was bad and the quercrtine worked lol
Lone_Ranger 3 1y ago
the evidence that the vax and lockdowns were a pile of shit is mounting by the day.
My favourite quote about the vax;
"A vaccine for a disease so mild that you have to test to see if you have it, that is so great that they have to force you to take it, so effective that you have to take anotehr one 5 months later, and so safe that they have to exempt the Pharma company from liability? No thanks"

from my research i think meat from ruminants, like beef and lamb is the best meat.
Personally i eat beef or lamb EVERY day, also a bunch of eggs like around 10 EVERYDAY. Fish a few times a week, lots of fruits, some veggies but not that much, raw honey and some nuts like almonds/walnuts but not a big quantity. Use several types of seasonings for different meals for their antioxidant properties.
I meet all vitamin/mineral daily requirements just from whole foods, no oils at all, nothing processed except boiling my eggs and dry frying my steaks, if that counts as processing.
I like to believe i have a very healthy diet.
aweawea_ 1y ago
I am not worried about eating too much meat/red meat or eggs/egg yolks AT ALL.
I think its all bs and more of a wrong correlation and science hasn't actually concretely pin pointed the main causes of disease and the main boosters of health yet.
or its being actively hidden on purpose.
I think the key to health is - whole natural foods/no processed foods - this is what matters, not whether its vegan or its red meat or how much veggies or how much fruits or anything like that, there have been multiple "blue longevity zones (places with abonormal amount of centenarians) and overall way higher avarage life expectancy" in different parts of the world and they have had many different diets, some were vegan, some were omnivores, some eat a lot of meat, some moderately, some even eat a lot of cheese or oils...so to me this means that its more so about the QUALITY and NATURALITY of the food that matters and also other lifestyle factors, like stress, sleep, social life, exercise and NOT STUFFING YOURSELF 24/7, so doing frequent fasts.
financehardo420 Should i (x1) 1y ago
Fasting is actually so slept on I try to get it in at least once a week

I grew up eating meat at every meal. Steak a few times per week, pork chops, chicken. A meal wasn't a meal unless it had some meat with it. I also ate tons of pizza and cheese/dairy, my favorite foods. I was so constipated all of the time in High School. Sometimes it would feel like tearing. Hemorrhoids, etc. Very similar bathroom issues to my father. I'd shit like once or twice a week, sometimes not even good ones. I got into martial arts and became vegetarian for 12 years and constipation was a thing of the past. I still ate lots of pizza, extra cheese, dairy. Now I take 3-4 (or more) shits a day, which can get inconvenient. My dad still suffers many of the problems but my mom helps him with smoothies and stuff. I haven't been constipated in years. Also, every time I eat a meal, the old meal is ready to come out. I shit after every meal basically. Lots of women who get to the sleeping over and breakfast stage complain that I am so regular compared to them. My most recent FWB said I was just like her vegetarian room mate, who also enjoys shitting like clockwork. Meanwhile she can't hardly shit and celebrates a shit as a victory. YMMV because I have meat friends who pound the toilet too.
edit: forgot to add that I recently added canned sardines in water, canned cod liver, and canned oysters into my diet. Been on that for like a year and a half and it helps me keep a nice layer of fat over my muscles which I believe is my optimal energy state (not shredded). no difference in regularity. I'm 6'3" 220.
financehardo420 Should i (x1) 1y ago
That’s wild that’s gotta be a genetic thing haha I have always had plenty of meat but I always have like a daily morning shit. lately since I’ve been eating a lot more veggies than normal I might have 2 poops a day now haha

Too much red meat is not good for your heart.
dongking 1y ago
That has been debunked ages ago. It's nonsense.
Great video(s) on the topic: https://youtu.be/T7OQT1SHf9w?si=2p8BgLVzclmJB0ZB
User4566 1y ago
One video with 8k subscribers vs countless studies that say otherwise. I know what I’m choosing, you do you.
dongking 1y ago
Show me some of those countless studies please.
As mentioned in the above video (and many others) those studies are paid off and manipulated.
How did you find your way to TRP if you believe in woke propaganda anyways?
User4566 1y ago
Look it up yourself, red meat is proven to raise cholesterol. Not to mention, even if I did link any sources, you would claim it to be liberal propaganda anyway since it doesn’t fit your narrative.
dongking 1y ago
Lmao.
If you want to be a soyboy, I ain't stopping you. Good luck.
