Everyone seems to talk about how easy it is for musicians to get laid (I think even Rollo said that being in a band when he was young scored him hot chicks).
I'm an amateur musician - I play guitar and sing. I don't write originals (anymore) but I cover pop/rock stuff from the 70s-90s. I'm actually pretty good - not professional but I can hold my own on stage in a bar. However it's never gotten me laid.
Up until this stage I've mostly just practiced at home + jam with friends, but I am planning to start doing more performances. So obviously getting out there more will help expose me to more women. But I want to hear from other amateur musicians - how do you guys get laid?
- What type of venues/gigs should I focus on - open mics, busking, markets, or try and get Fri/Sat night gigs at bars?
- Is it worth building up a social media presence (posting performance videos, etc).
P.S. music is just a hobby/passion of mine, I'm not doing it just to get laid but it seems like I should leverage the skills I have.

Dont have much specific advice. But the fact that you have exciting hobbies and passions is a key element of being a high value guy that women find interesting. You might not be able to leverage the music alone for consistent pulls, but complete yourself through other areas and you will find success.
It also gives you several good date ideas. You can go to concerts/venues and maybe know people there. Maybe you perform yourself. Or just talk about playing some music for her as a good reason for getting her back to your place.

Do regular gigs, possibly with other bands.
Not done it, but ideally you want to socialise with people before and after, and know some of the regulars.

I had an acquaintance that was in an amateur band that played gigs and released an album. I'm saying it was a good album, that's just where they were at with it.
I think the guitarist just hit it off with girls after gigs by inviting them backstage etc. Made them feel like they were getting VIP access.
Also, if you show up to play somewhere and kill it on stage, cold approaching any girl should boost you more than had they not seen you play songs on stage. You become higher SMV by doing that confidently
Like Matty, I've not done any of that before besides playing an original song on stage on guitar. I didn't try to approach though but a bunch of guys treated me like a rockstar. I assume women may have if I had bothered to cold approach after

Yep it's about demonstrating social status in that situation. thanks for the tips

You're welcome man, best of luck if you try to leverage it in the future
Above all, just have fun with music. Women like guys who are having fun
