Nope. That's a blue pill strategy. Makes her think that you're a "gentleman" who "respects her space" and is "a nice guy". You gotta put some skin in the game. Push-pull and stuff. Girls are more reactive to guys who are willing to take a risk, even if it means failure. Even if she doesn't like you, she'll respect the fact that like "a real man" you go for what you want.

I've hat dates with kisses and then the chicks stop anwering followup texts after the date, one even went ahead and blocked me, so not kissing on a first date might not be all that bad I guess

Depends on the date. I usually do not kiss at the first date if it's for coffee or some other daytime activity where i do not take a girl home. I find the tension is high for the 2nd date then. As long as you kino escalate and lead you dont strictly need to put your mouth on hers for things to happen.
