Can’t help but feel like it’s destroying my social skills. I was always a little on the shy side, I want to change but I spend most of my days in my living room working (job pays well at least.). Does anybody have any advice?

Yes. It's pretty bad.
Higher ups want to be aristocrats that jealousy guard their social connections by denying access to the peasants.
Bean counters want to move the cost of office space onto employees.
Political conteol people like that you have nothing to do but consume their propaganda.
People with families like staying at home.
But you get screwed, socially isolated. You can't learn from other people at your same job. It's the same thing over and over, the older generation is throwing the younger one under the bus for their own benefit.

Horrible.
In my situation it's pretty obvious, as my offices are in the city centre. I can easily do a handful of cold approaches every weekday without extra travel. Couple that with all the socializing of a normal office environment.

I work from home but not limited to home. My job is deadline based, so I'm not forced to sit in front of the screen from 8-5
Pros:
Cons:
It's all about adapting, nothing is by itself good or bad, you take it as it is and make the best of it.

I absolutely disagree with the nerds in this thread. I have only spent 1 day of my life in the office and I will never look back. Offices are a waste of time and money (also from the perspective of a founder). "Free nuts and fruit in the office", are you kidding me?
Here is what I am doing:
These are just some of the perks. Get some hobbies. You do not usually make friends at work. I have always met more interesting people, also for the "network", outside of work. I think this is all overrated. Maybe your city has some founder/business meetups, coworking spaces etc. that would be a start. If you are US based consider checking out Mexico for some fun time, too many of you here already anyway.
So, I will pass by Germany to visit my mom and some friends, then continue to the Balkans this summer. As a teen, I was always in love with Balkan chicks. Then I will come back to Latin America and continue my journey here. All this with a fat US salary and some side hustles. In the last two years while you were all stuck at home I learnt to dance Salsa and Bachata and made some significant progress in my boxing. Also perfected my Spanish, of course. I have been to 10 countries while you were being told it is not possible. The world is my "office".

This is the way to do it.
But if you're currently working some nine-to-five corporate job and only have the option of clocking into the office or clocking in from home, with regular check ins, not being able to travel, etc. Then go out. Dont rot at home. And work towards a better situation like outlined in the comment above.

If you are currently working in a 9-to-5 there are still ways. Like using a VPN to hide your location. And you should always be on the lookout for something better anyway.

If you have no online social skills as well - then yeah.
However unlike 6 years ago - your case isn't that rare. There's plenty of people that do real life meetups. It's not wierd anymore to gather around with strangers and play TTRPGs or go to cooking courses or skydiving - you can even tell yourself you're just doing it for the gram and clout if you are like me and not a pathological Extrovert that can't sit at home alone during a weekday evening.

Work is for work, and most of the colleagues are not fun to hang out with. Homeoffice frees up a lot of time and money.

If it's a good job: do other things to be more sociable.
