When I first got introduced to TRP, I hated it. Like the Matrix, people don't want to be saved, they want to feel good and safe. I was like that, until it started to make sense. I wasn't one of the many who got scorned in a relationship and carried all the hate and abuse to here as an outlet, I just read more submissions with an open mind and my past experience along with many other peoples'.
The problem begins when you become a sponge. I read through all the top posts, the sidebar, and kept up daily with hot new posts. It becomes like porn in a sense. Things that prove AWALT or some demonizing post about a woman doing horrific things no longer give you a grim reaffirmation in thought. Instead, they give you a pleasure in reading, like an emotionally/mentally pleasing pat on the back for being right.
But this is toxic. If you simply peruse the forum all day, vigorously nodding to yourself at things like hypergamy, or hamstering, or Chad ThunderCock, you're getting absolutely jack shit done in life. Sure, more knowledge never hurts. But you could be spending your time actually applying and practicing the things you read, not bookmarking for future use and then binge reading some more. Take a break from your keyboard.
Another problem that I faced, and I don't know if anyone else does/did, was misogyny. We constantly proclaim the fact that we aren't misogynists. We accept women for who they are, and work with it to the best of our benefit. Or some of us go to the extreme corner inside of MGTOW, and cut them off completely. What we need to keep in mind is that this subreddit mainly focuses on the worst of women. When I say this, I talk about the constant posts that are upvoted daily about women doing terrible things. The problem is, all women tend to have characteristics of these women, to a lesser degree or even more. That is why sometimes in our mind, we interpret this daily input of women doing bad as all women are equally bad, and this ruins any chance of having a good time with women in general. The main issue was that while sucking in all these horror stories of divorce rape and life-ruining by women, I failed to keep in mind this was not an example of all women. Not all women in my daily life would go this far, AS LONG as I didn't give them that chance. Which brings me to the next part.
We are men. We don't make excuses for ourselves when we mess up, or blame others. At least, that's the goal. A lot of people on here complain daily of women doing this, women doing that. We've been over this, it isn't their fault. It is their nature and you as a Red-Piller know better than anyone you are playing with fire. If you get burned, suck it up, tell your story if you want to help others, and learn from the experience. But don't complain to everyone about how women are evil and it's all their fault. With the knowledge TRP has given you, chances are you share some of the blame for letting it happen. Also, saying things like that gives this community a bad rep. It's impossible to have a logical, idea stimulating conversation about TRP anywhere on Reddit. And this is our fault. Too many people here are stuck being angry, writing shit posts, and basically giving everyone the idea that we are all fat neckbeards in our mom's basements who can't get women, and so turn to complaining about alphas and whatnot. I don't give a fuck what other communities think about us, until it gets to the point that the things they say are actually true about many members here. Then we know there's a problem in the sub.
To put it simply, don't spend all your time on TRP all day. It can warp your mindset for many. Taking a break is good, use it to apply those many posts you have bookmarked, to actually get experience with all sorts of women and understand their nature instead of reading it on a screen. Text can only help you so far. Also, bonus: In my opinion, you can't say you've moved beyond women or have put them beneath you unless you have the option to get them. Too many times people say extreme MGTOW's and MRA's can't get women, and so say they've gone their own way without them. The sad thing is, it is getting true for quite a few. Just my two cents, but if you don't have a choice in the matter, as in you couldn't get a girl even if you wanted to, then don't spout off about it on the web.
Tl;Dr: Get off TRP every now and then and actually experience the world before learning it off a screen.
auosie 7y ago
Well if people continue and read only bad stuff and believe it and read about it all the time they will Believe it 100% it's like brainwash
MaverickWolfSigma 7y ago
Being RP means basically to experience the world and the intersexual dynamics at play for what they really are, raw and uncensored. What you're actually trying to suggest is to sporadically escape from reality every once in a while to provide some stress relief and ameliorate an unhealty surplus of cynicism. If escaping momentarily from reality is your goal, booze seems to be the prefered route for many. Psychedelics and video games would be my pick.
oldrunnerguy 7y ago
I understand what your saying and I know as a man that I have made some mistakes. But whereas, a great deal of news and social media have been put forth to highlight women's "gripes", it is good to know that there is place for us men to share our feelings and ideas. Too often we have seen double standards, fairness issues, as well as men taken to the cleaners, etc. etc. etc. with the "assumed" conclusion that the woman is always right.
Why shouldn't we have our own space?
Maybe we just need to connect with other guys, voice our feelings, and affirm to the fact we are not always wrong. The fact that many of us have been in relationships that we knew deep down in our heart were unfair, but we had to play the game. Like many of the men here, our wives left us, and it wasn't due to abuse, infidelity or abandonment or substance abuse. Many of us have been great fathers, stable providers and committed husbands.
When you go through a marriage for 20 years, and your bored, frigid, unpleasable wife leaves you, one who is always comparing what you earn financially to what her girlfriend's husband's make. When she can quit a job at any time because she dislikes her job and does so without having another job lined up and ends up leaving you with numerous debts to still pay off for stuff that she insisted that was needed. It tends to give a man a great deal of frustration and resentment.
About fifty years ago, a number of females spoke up about fairness. They wanted go out and work, they wanted to have careers, they wanted to be like men. But then again they didn't. It has created a financial dynamic whereas the economy has adjusted itself with the assumption that there are two providers in the family. Even if a woman wanted to be a homemaker in this day and age, the economics work against it. She better find a great wage earner if she does. A man that can pay a mortgage, provide both her and him with a good vehicle along with the insurance that goes with it. One that can provide her and him as well as the family with adequate health insurance. This does not even get into food, clothing and other necessities that women generally spend more on than the man himself. Even my folks did not have a dynamic like this.
My mom worked, but she understood her responsibilities in making the marriage work and that having a joint bank account goes along with being responsible for the bills and the debts incurred. They have been married for 59 years.
In closing, my wife complained that I wanted a woman just like my mother. At this point, that was probably the smartest thing she ever said.

i remember a vanguard once saying about trp that it is a hospital for broken men.
you cure, regain strenght, then step back out into the real world.
don't stay in hospital for the rest of your life.
Fox-SAF 7y ago
That's a really nice way to view it. Hospital for broken men, just genius.
hawkeaglejesus 7y ago
Which is why I hate these meta-bitching posts which themselves are becoming more frequent. The OP may not need this medicine but there are plenty of guys who do. If you're not satisifed with the content make your own instead of bitching about how you don't like the content that others created.
Physio_Tool 7y ago
To be fair, these posts are needed because the general indoctrination and ideology of TRP is "once you swallow the pill and accept the new reality there's no going back." This makes it appear as though TRP is not just a useful tool for someone based on the period of the life they are in but rather a religion and permanent way of life. This is dangerous and leads to people just blindly following the rage posts as a way of life.
redpillschool Admin 7y ago
Hey, this is bad for business. Stop trying to send away my subscribers!
But in all seriousness, you really need to get in the field and take a break for perspective. Then come back and reread the sidebar and see how your new perspective sheds light on what you know.
Obviously doing too much of anything will burn you out eventually.
Stay in touch with the community itself though, it's a good network of guys, even if the raw theory itself becomes a little repetitive. There are some really cool guys on the IRC and on trp.red.

It's too common for people today not to take the time to digest what they consume. For one reason or another, they're quick to react and those same people double down on said reaction. "Measure twice, cut once" is an adage that everyone should keep in mind in their everyday lives. Taking the time to process information is an art that we've slowly lost. I'm glad this concept is something that men here, from mods to regular contributors to regular members, are preaching.
thestruggled 7y ago
It's good to keep up with this sub, I just refer to the whole "mental masturbation" thing where TRP becomes almost entertainment, like refreshing twitter or whatnot. At that point you either have too much free time, or aren't using your time wisely.
clonegreen 7y ago
Men need a sense of community, and there's nothing wrong in making it an online one. If anything, you're allowed to log in and log off at your own pace.
I don't know many people who actually give much of a fuck anymore. I get a sense for lukewarm decision making, and a loss of identity from the potent male essence that grounds us, and makes us more likely to succeed and feel self actualized.
Also, red pill gives us the psychological framework to better understand others and to succeed. So many stories get repeated where we create archetypes like "Beta Bucks", "Alpha Widow", etc. It's potential landmines you'll likely detonate from if you're unaware of the common mistakes and blueprint so many have fallen prey to.
It's amazing this all exists, but just like anything else, theory without effort is mental masturbation. No matter how potent the knowledge is, it's only active if we implement.
Bitcoin-FTW 7y ago
That's one the ironic parts of theredpill. You have to fail in bluepill ways, or at least have enough experience in the field otherwise, to be able to see the truths we tell.
You have to be broken or awoken before you will be willing to accept it. Makes me happy every time I see someone awoken before they get completely broken.
IIlllIllIIIllIl 7y ago
Another ironic thing about the pill, and this post touches on it, I noticed the more I internalize the pill the less I feel the need to constantly come back here to reinternalize the concepts. I've heard this mentioned by others, and while there are times I may feel like I'm not giving back to the community that bred me, in reality I am living red out there and I'm able to show other men what masculinity can and should look like.

You should check out the rules page/irccloud. There are hostname patterns/nick patterns/ISPs/countries on the ban list too. Had to do lots of cleanup.
IIlllIllIIIllIl 7y ago
Speaking of ISPs, how secure is the IRC? I understand plenty of people use it, and plenty who could get in worse trouble than me, but I am curious.

As described in the rules page, It is a public forum. Also your IP is publicly shown unless you use some obfuscation like irccloud or host masking which is also described on the rules page.

Gotcha. I think I'll be fine this time, but from now on I'll set something up.
Thizzlebot 7y ago
I really agree with this post. You can tell when people just parrot what they heard because a lot of this shit needs to be calibrated for real life. I think it's best to just understand the core values and then just visit here occasionally.
Swallowed_the_pill 7y ago
The quality posts are getting further and further apart from each other. There's too many "women are stupid, evil, abusive etc..." posts. This is exactly how the feminists we despice argue. "The world around me is the problem, not me."
Adapt and work hard. If you want to point your finger, point it at yourself. Improve your strengths, wash out your weaknesses or wear them like armor. Channel your hate towards lifting the weights in the gym.
Improve your social skills and watch the world dance around your little finger. Improve your physique and be proud of looking yourself in the mirror. Stop dreaming and start doing.
[deleted] 7y ago
Probably the best mantra I've lived by, well put. The day I started looking in the mirror instead of being angry with society/everyone else is the day I started living.
Potatoman5556 7y ago
Hating women is stupid because why hate something you cannot change. Thats just wasting energy.
Instead hate the people that taught you and instilled lies about women and their nature while building our now dysfuntional society. You can change laws, culture, society in many ways so men dont get screwed over.
But you cant change women. Women just like men will always be the same. The laws of man rarely last more than a century before they are changed completely. The laws of nature are eternal and never changing.

I've noticed this trend also. There are too many negative /reactive posts and too few positive /constructive posts. Ultra sjws/feminists are not very loud/common IRL. Their presence is far overrepressented here. Same with false rape, evil XX, etc. I think we should restrict those posts to one or two days per week.
FishHeadBucket 7y ago
Way to put the blame on the little guy.
Rebikhan 7y ago
Those posts have value depending on the stage you're in. If you've been reading for years, the fact that women can do bad and manipulative things is like being told the sky is blue. But if you're new, getting some perspective on the things women are capable doing to a good man can hold value.
thestruggled 7y ago
That is true. However, many people are like clay when they first come, most come with anger or sadness. This makes them susceptible to almost anything negative about women, and will create a sense of distrust (different form wariness/caution) and hate, which makes any relationship impossible.
Of course I'm sure there are plenty of people who can separate their feelings well, too, but I speak of those who can't/didn't.
[deleted]
PrimaxAUS 7y ago
I think we need a subreddit for stages past anger then, because this place is a cesspit for the people actually trying to improve rather than just rant or jerk off to themselves.
Swallowed_the_pill 7y ago
I'm not saying it's completely wrong. My problem with it is that it's posted too frequently.
There's also a difference between realizing and acknowlegding that women are different than men and degradring the front page with pure hate posts.

It's Dunning Kruger effect. Once you obtain some knowlegde, some degree of skill or get into something, that's when you believe you are an expert. The more knowlegde you obtain, the more skilled you get or the deeper you get into something, the less you think you know. True experts know about everything they don't know.

The fuck is TRP's obsession with lifting? Look, no one should argue against physical fitness, but Jesus tapdancing Christ, lifting is not the singular answer to all of life's problems. "Girl left you? Go lift." "Got fired? Go lift." "Self-esteem problems? Go lift." "Existential anxiety? Go lift." For fuck's sake. There are other things in life than lifting and getting dem massive gainz.
[deleted]
warjesus420 7y ago
Healthy release of dopamine without substances, helps you to have better sleep, feeling of accomplishment, gain to confidence, look better, healthier in general, etc...
For the average man it is a VERY good thing to do, not saying it's the cure-all but you can't argue that it has a LOT of positives.
thestruggled 7y ago
Lifting helps focus your mind on self-improvement, raises your testosterone, and benefits your body through hard work and consistency. All things to help you forget the girl and work on yourself to get others, if wanted.
Lifting never hurts. It may not help you with getting a job, but lifting builds confidence which in turn can help job interviews.
Dude lifting will increase self esteem by a shit ton.
[deleted] 7y ago
Reading books is more important
Swallowed_the_pill 7y ago
You probably haven't tried lifting. It's not just about physique and "dem gainz bro". It's about the mental aspect aswell. About goal setting, self improvement, good routines. Your hormone balance changes, you feel energized, alive and your ability to focus improves. Your bone density increases and you are less likely to get injuries, both acute and long term, from everyday activities.
You are doing exactly what I was talking about. Your finger is pointed towards lifting and people who do it, people who reap the benefits of a better physique and body. Lifting isn't a chore. It's a necessity for our stone age bodies and minds. We no longer get the physical stimulus our body requires.
[deleted] 7y ago
Hold the phone. Who said I don't lift? I certainly didn't. I do lift. I just have other hobbies and interests in my life that aren't lifting. I'm not condemning people who lift, believe it or not. I'm proposing moderation in all things. Yes, that old coconut! Doing any one thing in excess, even if you consider it to be a net positive, is not a good or healthy practice.
But I get that TRP has become a bit of a self-parody lately and there's a lot of shitposting and trolling going around, so I thought I'd clarify my position.
warjesus420 7y ago
Fair enough but I really think(on a forum at least) it's not a bad thing to advise to almost all people.
RPFlame 7y ago
Did anyone ever in this sub advised someone to go lift the whole day or even skip resting days? What the fuck is this strawman?
If only you did your self-reflection in notepad, not in comments...
sd4c 7y ago
Lifting is one of the few things that clearly and definitively distinguishes us from females. It is trivially easy for an average man to surpass competitive standards of female lifts of the same age group.
Fucking is another one, they don't have the equipment for it. But one leads to the other. Lift heavy and often, shun cardio for the most part. Sleep well, nap often, meditate often because it makes sleep more effective. Eat the way you would feed a prized $10 million dollar Siberian tiger you received as a gift from Vladmir Putin. Lots of fresh, organic meat, a few greens, some fish, plenty of filtered water. No grains, no sugar, no alcohol, no drugs. You are worth $50 billion dollars (to yourself). Act like it
[deleted] 7y ago
Don't shun cardio. That's absolutely stupid. Cardio keeps you young, makes you look good, provides endless health benefits (CV disease is a top killer for men), and gives an awesome runners high. Plus endurance for sex and mental stamina
sd4c 7y ago
Cardio done at all-out sprints is legit. Everything else is garbage
[deleted] 7y ago
That's a lie. For some goals sprints are better/more efficient than medium/long cardio. That doesn't make other cardio garbage

FWIW, I dont get the "its so painful to swallow the pill" notion that gets bantered about here sometimes. When I stumbled on this site, I felt like I found the Rosetta Stone of SMV. Ive always had a very evolutionary mindset of sexual relationships, but this place pulled everything together coherently in one spot. Was enlightening, not painful.

OMG OP I think I love you! I'm not even a regular here but it was such good advice for me in so many ways. And I'm female and married!
But the bit about getting off the internets, not getting too caught up in negativity, not seeing all genders/people as the same - WOW. Your post is so awesome! Such a breath of fresh air!!!

Exactly. Maybe 20% of the guys on here lift. Then of that maybe 20% approach. There's a reason in life why there's a top 1% ... only 1% ACT. The rest talk or, in the case of trp, type.

This is where men learn to be men. If we have to encourage you to practice the wisdom here you don't deserve the benefits thereof.
[deleted] 7y ago
Many of us have overdosed on TRP and suffered the ill effects, I went crazy reading and reinforcing all my anger towards women. I was pretty mean to some girls who really did nothing that bad. Overdosing can make you blind to women who will enrich your life. I have a viscious cold at the moment and the waitress at my local cafe made me hot water with lemon and honey because she heard my cough, she just put it in front of me because she is a sweet girl. Not coz Im alpha, not coz she is AWALT, because she is a sweetie. Too much TRP can make you blind to some of the great women out there. Just because many women act like total cunts does not mean they all will. Good post OP
empatheticapathetic 7y ago
I hate cynicism (but ironically spent a lot of time on TRP) but do you think she would have done that if you were unattractive? You could be a great assertive guy and that waitress might not have done you that favour because you were unattractive and she doesn't value you.
Your point goes against a huge staple on this forum, people (or women) are nice to attractive people, ignore unattractive people. Their values are different to ours. The reason TRP works for most people is that the truths stated here actually work and make sense.
Hakametal 7y ago
When was the last time someone posted something about how wonderful and beautiful women can be? Sad thing is, I'd be surprised to see that. Swallowing the red pill will take you so far. You need to digest it. That means being happy; happy about hypergamy, happy about shit-tests, happy about having an untouchable Frame, happy about having a bad experience because it's made you who you are today, happy about being YOU.
Give love back to the world and don't expect anything in return. That is the ultimate goal for all of us.
empatheticapathetic 7y ago
I agree with this post but there's a part of me which wants to say "yes! I can relax about all this shit. It doesn't ALWAYS apply". But it's better to be ON guard than off. Balance is key.
For me personally, despite the fact I've been reading a year, if I stop reading for a while, I turn quite beta. It's good to be able to chat to other 'aspiring' alphas and stay in that dialogue. I am very socially isolated at the moment so it helps to have simply a 'community' to talk to while I work on my exit plan.
Stythe 7y ago
This is true of anything you don't take a break from. Everything in moderation.
I agree with you on the women posts. While the idea of AWALT may prove true, it's not like all women are pieces of shit. More importantly, how you are treated is representative of where you are in life.
If you take everything here literally it's not good. You never know the situation of the person writing the post, you never know the situation of the women they talk about or the circumstances they describe. It's all second hand. You interpret and take what you need and apply it, but tale it with a grain of salt.
ChickenBalotelli 7y ago
Yeah, "All woman are like That" kinda ticks me off. This is a blatant logical fallacy....I mean, if you look up logical fallacies, it literally is one of them.....the idea that from a small sample, (it's impossible to meet every single one of them) you can draw a perfect conclusion about the entire population, that "every single woman is like that."
I love this community, but I'd like some harder logic applied, instead of letting these things be regurgitated thousands of times. Maybe a list of logical fallacies would be helpful in the sidebar, as this is a dvlp-ment community.
meh613 7y ago
AWALT to be represents ability not a concrete fact. All Women Are (able to be) Like That, but AWAATBLT doesn't roll off the tongue quite so easily. And really, it's all humans, but society is structured to give women less consequences for their behaviour than if I, as a male, behaved in this manner.
[deleted] 7y ago
[deleted]
ChickenBalotelli 7y ago
So, I think that by your logic, I could say "all men are like that." about men needing and desiring sex from women.
Ok, what about gay dudes? A-sexuals? Enlightened souls? Men with low testosterone? There are no variances in your model?
reverse the logic and apply to women. There are NO variances over there?
broskiatwork 7y ago
My interpretation, and something I've seen a few others mention on here, is that it's not to be taken literally. Keep in your mind that AWALT as a form of protecting yourself. It's not meant to be 100% AWALT but that you have to realize any woman could be like that. But it's more simplistic to prepare for the worst (which is a very male thing to do) in case it happens rather than t run blindly through the woods.
Like I said, that's just how I see it. Granted there seem to be a lot that believe AWALT is gospel, but I just ignore that shit and move on.
Jaereth 7y ago
Yeah. I read it basically as never trust a ho. Every heartbroken guy i've ever seen at a bar sobbing into his beer all have one thing in common "I never thought MY girlfriend/wife would do something like that!"
ChickenBalotelli 7y ago
Yeah, this mindset appears a more healthy and attune.
alisonstone 7y ago
You have to understand the dynamics of how a forum like Reddit works and how it biases the discussions going on in it. The upvote/downvote system tends to bias the discussion to fringe and controversial topics as most people are too lazy to vote either way unless it is a specific topic that they associate closely with or on subjects that are highly controversial. That is why when discussing something like finances, there are always tons of posts about bitcoin when it is really a fringe part of finance that is irrelevant to 90%+ of people.
Participation on forums are also skewed. For example, on fitness forums, you often have the 400 pound guy asking for advice to lose weight and that post is filled with tons of people giving advice, tons of people cheering him on, etc. But how many 400 pound people have you seen in real life? Not that many. It's the freak shows that attract the biggest audience and participation. It's something that is fun to read, but his experiences in the gym are probably not very relevant to you as he is very different from you. You can have some omega males talking about stuff that is very real to them, but not actually applicable to the median guy. You have to be able to spot this.
Also, certain subgroups of people post more often on forums. Kids have far more time to go on forums than adults. There are a lot of unemployed mentally ill people who ramble online all day because they have nothing else to do. You can have 100 very successful guys, but only 10 of them visits forums they post sparingly because they don't have much time. However, you can have one unemployed mentally ill guy making 100 posts a day, and even though the crazies make up a tiny percentage of the population, they can end up making the majority of posts on a forum. If he is a decent writer, then suddenly he becomes some guru type figure in the community. A lot of forums have cult-like mentalities because of this and TRP is not immune to this. There are trends where some pretty asinine ideas become popular and discussed a lot for a few weeks before fading away again.
Basically, keep in mind that the Internet is not a fair representation of the people in the real world, so take everything with a grain of salt.

Funny, I came here to write this exact post. I haven't really been reading TRP lately. I mean I come here for some tips here and there, but I've made so much progress by just swallowing the pill and forgetting about it. Today I realized that the less I've read TRP and the more I've gone out and just had fun, the more I've learned about life and women. Most of us won't really learn until we see it for ourselves. I'll still be around, but I'm not here even close to every day like I used to be. Mellow out, take a breather, enjoy life. If you've swallowed the red pill you can't throw it up. You already know. The more you live the more you'll see it as truth and just learn. Don't worry about what all these other dudes think you should do. Everyone's different and the only way your gonna learn what works for you is by experimenting IN REAL LIFE.

If you are angry then that's still novice level.
There should be no emotion other than Amused Mastery.
If a "Jerry Springer Show" makes you angry you aren't there yet.
First we "Kill the Beta"
Then we develop a strong Frame
Now, I'll have to add that in the big picture it's no laughing matter as the Globalist Tyranny is a reality that drives this whole corrupt world we are passing through, but you have to realize that this dark side of humanity has always existed and always will exist. There are limits to the dark forces because as they near absolute power they get arrogant and tend to screw up and that makes them collapse. So there is sort of a big picture versus small picture angle on all this.

Don't become obsessed with any online forum. This is just a resource for you to live a real life. This is not a substitute for whatever else you were using to avoid your life before.
IMHO, its probably healthiest to 1) buy the books on the sidebar and start reading 2) go to the gym regularly 3) stay off any addicting internet. The best posts and theories from here are already on the sidebar, you're not going to miss anything earth shattering.

Your post resonates with me and my whole experiences reading material on manosphere/PUA forums along with the redpill.
When I first stumbled onto the manosphere after a "how to get girls to like you" google search from about 5 years ago, I felt like I stumbled into a treasure trove of wisdom and knowledge on sexual dynamics that I had never known or been aware of. Like Moses receiving the 10 commandments or something. You learn this body of knowledge and everything just clicks and works when you apply it.
I was all ready a pretty sociable guy and "cool" within my social circle. But I just never had a girlfriend. I could never keep a girl interested in me. Then I started working C+F routines, pea cocking, and doing general PUA shit when I'd go out and saw positive results. I even had one week where I banged 3 different girls 3 days in a row.
But the girls never stuck around. They would lose interest after like 2-3 weeks and it would drive me into an emotional wreck. I would cut them off or get all emotional and get into an argument or tell them they're "not like the other girls and I just feel this deep connection" type shit.
Then I became bitter. Thinking all women are sluts. They're all shitty, psycho etc.. I entered an LTR with a female friend of mine for about a year. Then we broke up mainly due to the both of us being way to neurotic to handle each other. 4 months later she had a new boyfriend who was better looking, made more money, and I was bitter/jaded to hell. Also, in this time I fell out of my social circle. People stopped calling me. I became bitter, angry, alone, jaded. Nobody likes me. Nobody wants to be around me.
Then I realized, with the help of the red pill that the problem is me.
When I say that, I don't mean that my ex girlfriend or none of the girls I dated were perfect little angels. They had their faults too. No one is perfect. However, my own faults and folly were the reason I was attracting these people into my life.
I was insecure and never felt good enough, so I would get concerned about my girlfriend leaving me for other guys.. I was skinny fat and my skin wasn't great.. Not a pizza face but occasional zits. I had a shitty job and no plans/goals for the future other than fucking off drinking beer and smoking pot. I felt insecure about never having been in an LTR with a girl and being a virgin until I was 22. My parents were both addicts / absentee, I felt no connection or direction from them and they put me down a lot and only showed admiration for achievements which they could use to boost their own ego which was really the foundation for my low self-esteem..
The red pill actually helped me realize all of this.. Despite the constant revenge/outrage porn spotlighting all of the shitty women out there.
TRP helped me realize it's time to sack up and step up to the plate. That I had to play the hand I was dealt instead of wallowing deeper and deeper into this pit of negativity and psychological self-flagellance.
I started lifting. I started running. I started cycling. Exercise is truly the miracle drug. It's meditative (mind healing), makes you stronger, increases your cardiovascular health, fixes your posture, prevents debilitating/life threatening disease in some cases.
Exercise served as a foundation for boosting my self-worth with small achievements and victories every day. Running that mile 5 seconds faster than yesterday, biking a 10 mile loop and doing 100 pushups before it's even fucking 9 AM and time to go to work. Being able to do 4 sets of 12 reps each on a weight that I could not even lift 6 months ago.
EXERCISE DOES WONDERS FOR ONE'S BRAIN AND SELF ESTEEM.
I got myself educated, graduated CC and am now in a prestigious top tier university finishing my bachelor's degree doing extremely well with a high GPA. It's a goal of mine to graduate university with distinction.
Today, I am a much different man than I was my whole life. It feels as though I spent 20 something years of my life in this mental prison and have finally been released. I mean, I'm not getting laid like crazy or anything at the moment, but I'm more focused on my career goals and general self-improvement at the moment. I also now have the confidence to say I probably COULD go out and have a ONS if I wanted or get that cute girl's number at a party. I don't have to give my commitment to some thot because I know there's an LTR quality girl somewhere who would be proud to be seen with me. The Red Pill helped me evolve toward becoming a top 20% guy.
In the past, I felt like a desert wanderer thirsty for water. Desperate, supplicating, will do anything for it! However in my wandering I have stayed alive, put in the work, dedication, and persistence to keep from metaphorically dying and falling into the pit of despair, depression.. And now, I have found the rushing clean stream of water! The key to life, and with it attracts many animals I can hunt to feed myself. I will soon be able to feed others, thus attracting their admiration, loyalty and my ability to preserve this legacy.
It all begins with one having the fight to stay alive in their wandering and searching until they find the truth (the stream of clean water) and they shall be set free.
jackandjill22 7y ago
What bothers me about this is; have you seen how easy women have it? They wouldn't even understand the sentiment behind this paragraph/statement because the majority of them haven't ever even encountered this kind've struggle.
[deleted] 7y ago
That's because men and women are different. TRP is about understanding and accepting that notion and accepting the fact that bloopers and women will generally try to hamster around that with some BS about equality. While women dont understand the shit men go through, men dont put on makeup everyday, shave our legs, or give birth.
It's comparing apples to oranges at the end of the day.
Physio_Tool 7y ago
idk dude. There's women being fooled by society that they got it made and should just do you and then they can end up miserable because they never settled down and missed the chance to land a good dude. this strikes me as pretty tough cause then they gotta fight aging, loneliness, all without a family.

yeah that gets a thumbs up from me. In my case, simply put: I got out of my own way. Well told, OP
auosie 7y ago
How come there's never good posts about women why not have both?
Physio_Tool 7y ago
Youll never see "Hey guys I'm in a healthy relationship with a girl I trust a lot" because it would be downvoted into oblivion. It goes against the hivemind that all women are evil beings and that you just can't win in this game.
circlhat 7y ago
When we have a new influx of members we tend to get shit post like these, its a misrepresentation and a blue pill ideology to virtue signal to women. It seems you are trying to find balance were these is none.
Mgtow is not extreme, I'm not Mgtow because I'm unhappy without women, but to say that men shouldn't opt out the system shows you know nothing about Mgtow.
Most Mgtows are divorced in lost everything and their only crime was loving a women. Sure they weren't excited or attractive but it wasn't because of looks but because of a beta attitude.
I swear every 2 weeks we get a post saying don't hate women, you know what I been told that my entire life.
Show me? I don't see any, Alpha is the most important concept you will ever learn.
tl;dr More male bashing

I try not to read trp anymore, there's a point where you've read enough and need to go out and apply it

I'll read the occasional men's rights post, or an endorsed contributor post. Maybe field reports but I don't trust a lot of those. But most posts are just some bullshit or a variation of a thing we've seen many times before.
squidracer 7y ago
Idk about field reports.. They sound crazy, but back in my drinking days I probably had FR worthy experiences..

Did you convince yourself?
The more I see a gigantic post leading to this ridiculously obvious platitude the more I really do want to get off of and stay off of TRP.

Not being stuck to a computer screen 16 hours a day is literally part of the philosophy. Anyone who spends more than an hour here at a time is kidding themselves.

I agree with your comment on experience. My experience and that of a number of my family and friends presents a big contrast from red pill.
The observations I've had are coming from myself who has indeed been cheated on. But I've also had great healthy relationships with girls who in their past were party girls, or who still enjoyed going out. Go out and get different reference experiences without letting internet strangers dictate your life.

Nah, high cock count probably just means she has deep-seated self-esteem issues that will later manifest themselves during the course of your little relationship. While she might engage in serial monogamy, it's only one tweak away from total slutdom.
down_with_whomever 7y ago
I first started reading TRP a few years ago. It wasn't like this so much then. There were really interesting, insightful posts on the front page at any given time.
Lately, I've mostly stopped reading TRP and mostly stopped contributing (I used to write posts semi-regularly) because it seems to me the posts have gotten SO bad, the analysis SO infrequent, and so much whining, that it's stopped being interesting. I don't want thing that I couldn't stand is that it became common for new guys to start writing these grandstanding advice posts. Like people who hadn't even read the sidebar yet filling the subreddit with their advice for the rest of us. I don't want to hear about women's bad behavior without any meaningful analysis attached. This isn't the "random anecdotes about bitches" sub.
This toxicity you're describing is a result of the declined standards that came along with our increased popularity. The TRP I first subscribed to a few years ago was not like this.
PaperStreetVilla 7y ago
Funny, this isn't some individual phenominon, it's how reddit was designed, and it's effects
It's a driving force on my little part in aggressively enforcing standards. It's small, but it makes a difference.
This line here is telling, and why I found RPS post on rule 0 to be one of the best implementations on here.
Drift is a huge issue, each little justification just incrementally moves the needle. And the mod team has been awesome at pushing back (with more help from the userbase as time passes)
It's why ever ban has some buthurt kid running off at the mouth, how power trippy we are for banning for such a small digression from the rules.
Naw man, fuck you, you're the raindrop who doesn't take responsibility for the flood. If you want to do research, look into the wealth of topics on reddit as a system, you'll see most of the 'this place is turning to shit' posts follow a very predictable pattern, and a few times, have very clever solutions.
So far, askscience/historians and their like are the gold standard for growth. Almost like a Triangle, Size, Quality, Freedom... pick any two.
The red pill is pretty big right now, the needle is really pushing on the other two. Flavour posters, heavy handed moderation, and the current userbase enforcing the standards it's been held to are the big movers right now. Bots are experementing, we will see how they fare
For further reading
Seriously look at the last two, TRP made one, but not the other. Consider that when you post
down_with_whomever 7y ago
Fuck me all you want. Your analogy is backwards, by the way. The raindrops are the ones participating in fucking things up by becoming the flood. I'm not some whiney shitposter contributing to a flood of low quality. I spent my share of effort trying to uphold high standards and write really useful analytical posts every time I've written one. I wrote a couple of decent ones. I hope they helped a few guys. I don't do this shit full time, what do you really expect from me?
I don't fault the mod team. Except for you, because you don't understand how the raindrop in the flood analogy works. But the rest of the mod team, I don't fault them at all and I've always appreciated their efforts. I fault the newcomers to the community. The shift you described is real. I get that it happens.
But I show up neither as a charity nor for personal gain. I'm not linking to a blog trying to get a book deal or trying to sell t-shirts. I just came for interesting discussion and to learn, and help other guys in the process when I can. But when the conversation stopped being interesting or offering much to learn, I'm not going to come by as much. I have limited amounts of free time and a life outside of reddit as well. So yeah, fuck me indeed.
PaperStreetVilla 7y ago
Not you, I'm referring to the flood of idiots in the modmail, posting inane questions in TRP, and otherwise causing the shit storm.
Put the claws away, these aren't the droids you're looking for
case in point
down_with_whomever 7y ago
I just looked again at what you said. You were addressing it to the people who were getting banned.
Now I got you. In that case, yes. If anything, the more unforgiving you are in bans, the better for the community.
play_time_is_over 7y ago
This the most honest ppst here in ages and I completely agree. Not even sure how useful trp is these days but the ratio of angry dudes vs people actually implementimg it is way off.
anangryterrorist 7y ago
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't MGTOW start as that "extreme corner"? I thought celibacy was a corner stone of the original concept.
thestruggled 7y ago
I'm not quite sure. I saw a post a few days ago that said something along the lines of MGTOW being about seeing women as optional, although everyone sees it as Women should screw off
[deleted] 7y ago
The main problem is that most of mgtow is dudes that weren't getting sex anyway. It doesn't mean much if you are unemployed and say you're going to stop working.
These tend to be the dudes who are caught in the anger phase but aren't willing to work hard or fuck fatties.
anangryterrorist 7y ago
Yeah, sure, but it's still liberating to stop trying. It's less of a "well, fuck you, I'll stop trying (and then maybe you'll love me ;-;)" and more of a "well, I guess I should stop trying to ebter the club when I'm very clearly not old enough."
Again, this is what I understand the idea of MGTOW to be, but people can identify as MGTOW and not actually be what was originally intended, kinda like how feminism probably really wanted to level the playing field but now aren't really associated with actual female issues.

Physio_Tool 7y ago
I agree, maybe read some self-improvement posts and read Book of Pook. Don't bother with Rational male or any of the anger phase posts. Anything that advocates AWALT is retarded and fear-based
DzejSiDi 7y ago
You mistook the TRP subreddit with MGTOW one.
p00pey 7y ago
That sub is fucking ridiculous. I cant' believe people waste their time with that shit. Day and night it's just AWALT porn, with no general consensus as to how to deal with it etc. It's like they're checked out, which is fine, but now use your time on something productive, not just finding retarded stories about women acting like assholes so you can jump up and down like rabid apes yelling AWALT. It's fascinating, yet very sad...
E_Sex 7y ago
From what I've seen TRP is definitely a good thought experiment for any man, but if you're allowing internet philosophy to dictate how you live your love you're doing it wrong. For every absolutely terrible woman out there who takes advantage of men and get place in society there's an equally angelic woman.
My point being that women and men both can be despicable people, but that doesn't mean you ought to be a pessimistic recluse who only sees women as game. They are, in fact, people. You can whine and complain all you want, but once you accept the nature of women and men as imperfect and realize that that's okay, you'll find you're QoL improve a lot. Love people for who/what they are but love yourself more. This place can really be a breeding ground for hate and that hate will deep into your mindset which ultimately can cause depression and self-hate as well as hate for the world. If that is you, you might think your eyes are "opened," but really they couldn't be more closed.
BluepillProfessor 7y ago
You really think the ratio of good:bad is 1:1?
rob_holloway 7y ago
Great Post. Everything you said here resonated with me personally. Sometimes I feel like I spend too much time reading and not enough time actually applying and enjoying my life. Knowing all of this about woman can sometimes be intimidating but I definitely am going to make a point to improve over all. Great job again!
DJGammaRabbit 7y ago
Not even a break - once you've absorbed what you needed - just leave. What's nice is after a year of reading this stuff you stop caring about it anyways and you just keep being you, probably slowly but surely improving just because you're more aware. We have all of this information and its basis in reality is so eye opening that we don't feel like we want to live with it, then realizing this is the way it has always been and will be and the shock subsides to become more or less a fun challenge as if you're hitting on a girl for the fuck of it, holding no expectation. That's when you can relax, you're comfortable being yourself. We see all the time TRP saying "don't give a fuck", but completely misses the paradox of not giving a fuck about not giving a fuck, which kinda means you give a fuck. At one point it becomes too much on-paper and it isn't fun at all. Mentally it is hard work. Why waste all your time on something that could be put to better use, like having fun with real life. There's only ever been one major, upsetting factor for me that I wish were not true: women are incapable of unconditional love. If there's one TRP thing I believe where AWALT it is that. If you change, they change. If you don't change, they don't change. That's "frame". They're like a mirrors reflection and they instinctually look to us to be leaders who make decisions. They're like fucking do-do birds sometimes.

I agree so fucking hard with this, and was thinking about it today. I was an incel for 3 and a half years, prior to that I was having a good amount of sex (age 15-20). I'm turning 25 soon and just got my first 2 plates going, and going well.
It's because I stopped reading the red pill for 10 days and lived. Reflecting back on those days, I see that I've implemented the strategies used here in my life during those days. Didn't even think about it once.
And the first time I had sex after my time as an incel, I somehow performed miraculously well. Not to brag, but this girl said "I don't cum easily", and I made her cum 7 times in one go. The first words that she said after were "thanks for ruining it for every other guy".
There's no way to express the gratitude I have for this site, it's teachings, the morals it endows you with if you follow through and the committed members who helped me and countless others through the transition of blue to red. But, if you don't take a break and live, you'll never experience the life this page hopes you'll have.
Great post.
aazav 7y ago
FYI, this shouldn't be a place where you just hang out.
Once you get it, you do it. Check back in every once and a while to see if there is anything else you need to learn, but once you graduate college, you leave it and go off and live in the real world.
razormachine 7y ago
I had noticed that a lot of the guys on TRP subreddit are stuck in the anger phase, and they do not come here to progress at all. They come here to feed their toxicity.
I can't understand this mechanism. This toxic anger is eating people from inside out. It is a bad feeling. Why are guys clinging to it?
offthebeatmeoff 7y ago
Great post man. I know how you feel. I feel like one of the lucky guys on this forum who had mostly positive experience with women, before I ever started reading this stuff. Of course I've had horrible expreriences too that I rather not go too deep into, but I blame myself for most of them. I read this stuff so I could gain an edge and make myself even better at everything, and it helped. I read NMMNG which was a cool read, and helped me tweak my behavior slightly and I'm about to finish 48 laws of power which gave the hindsight to see why I drove one of my relationships to the ground. It's cool useful stuff. A lot of girls are pretty cool and nice. Like us or at least like me they're self conscious and crave acceptance and friendship from people they like or think are cool/interesting. When I need a place to stay for the night when I'm visiting a city I know 5 or 6 chicks that would give me a bed, and I only slept with 2 of them, the others are just friends. Reading this stuff too much will make you paranoid that girls are manipulative geniuses. Some of them are, but you can spot them pretty easy with experience. Go out, have a good time, be normal and don't try to make everything so black and white because it's not.
MyTrapsCauterize 7y ago
OP, did TRP replace some other addiction for you? Like porn, video games, recreational drugs, or other time wasting activities? I think your experience may be personal and more indicative of you as a person than TRP as a whole. Do you think Steven Hawking constantly reads through his copy of Relativity? Especially devout religious people constantly read the Bible or Koran, but people of the sciences don't see any need to keep a copy of PhilosophiƦ Naturalis Principia Mathematica to thumb through every night before bed. In essence, I think you're treating TRP like a religion, instead of treating it like any other knowledge you'd pick up in your life. You aren't alone in this, many people have posted things like you before.
banica24 7y ago
I've noticed 4 posts exactly like yours the past week.
You don't follow your own advice. Saying 'take a break from TRP' when you spent however long writing this and preaching things that have already been said.
thestruggled 7y ago
My bad, I don't spend as much time as you here so I didn't know. Also I spent 13 minutes on this, so I didn't waste too much time "preaching." Thanks for your concern.

The problem is, I learned it myself before I even heard of trp or pua.
