Putting a price on sex creates (at least a beginning of) a fair market for sex. Absent an oligopoly of prostitution (which is difficult to establish, because it's not legal in most places, and pretty much any attractive female can enter the market with no money down) prices will eventually depreciate to sex's fair market value.
