on tinder in my french town of 370k people, there is like 150 girls between the age of 18-23 in the stack, half of them are obese, which mean that less than 1% of girls are using tinder
why such a huge decline ?

I’m American in the NorthEast. I rank my self in the top 20-15%. Although not yet completely dead I feel it coming. The Zs just sext each other on Instagram. Algo oblivion for most dudes, and often myself included. I’m trying to figure out a next step as a live in a semi-rural area and dating apps were a life saver.

Because they treat men like worthless pay pigs, hide and shadowban them even if they are paying them money for subs, getting algorithmically deranked for no reason, and women are going out with the same 5 Chads brads, tryones, jauns, and cads in the area, leaving the other 80% of men without matches and then women leave the apps because all they get is dick and ghost because they only keep dating the top SMV guys
So the enshitificiation of the app drives away decent smv IRL men who would otherwise stay but brad and cad get better algorithm places, meanwhile Stacey and Amy keep quitting the app from pump and dump, which attracts more and more girls to the app looking for pump and dumps
It's a terrible business model. They should just give everyone an equal chance of being shown and call it a day they won't

The biggest problem is they're all owned by the Match group so they don’t give a shit if their app sucks it’ll just funnel everyone to another they control. Truly a monopoly. What happened to tinder. They could easily remove the fake bots, instagram whores, but they choose not too.

It used to be that way when I started using Hot or Not & Tinder for the first time in 2014... Nowadays it's absolute shit. I'm getting way less matches nowadays with a higher SMV profile than back then. The shadow banning is insane.

These apps are going to fall apart at some point. They are already falling apart.
These apps are just date and chill (one step above Netflix in chill) with the pretense of a date and the promise of dating. These are just glorified hookup apps and they are crumbling into dust slowly but surely
I don't think new app same shit will save them. Unlike before, when you went from tinder to hinge you had a different experience. It's all the same app now with a different fake cover slapped on to each one that makes them allegedly "unique"
They're taking the entire premise of OLD, which was making it easier and faster and more convenient to find what you want with more prospects than you otherwise may have met the traditional way and turning it into an algorithmic ban hellhole
If you're Chad with the he Best profile ever not paying a cent and getting a lot of engagement, you will be shown to everyone. If you're a guy who's paying for platinum but have a meh profile, good luck being shown much when your platinum runs out but people still won't swipe on you even with it
I used to get 10-15x as many matches with a WORSE profile three years ago, and with hotter women.
I have a better profile now and it's a fucking desert in my match box. Something seriously got fucked up, there is no conceivable way I got better results with a twice as shitty profile and actually having a good one now is fucking me

Declines bc the hot chicks would get pumped n dumped as verm said. In addition; what’s left now is as you’ve noticed: the crusty hoes nobody wants.
While there are still a few diamonds in the rough OLD is very much in the shitter. Decent in major cities like Miami/nyc/chi/la but you have to realize the hot chicks on there are gigasluts and/or crazies. It’s all the women nobody wanted to LTR. Just think about that for a bit and you’ll understand

Dating apps feed off thirst and desire for attention. Maybe dating is taking a hit generally? I hope so. Its not a long term historical phenomenon. What a huge waste to court people who you actually despise a lot of the time just want attention from and sex from.

The way to understand dating apps is this - its the dumpster. You will not find diamonds in the dumpster.
The guys that go on OLD are basically guys that can't pull IRL. And the women know this, so only the desperate women go on OLD. It's for women and guys that can't hack it in IRL.
Plus - they are talking at cross purposes - the women go on OLD looking for relationships and the guys go on OLD looking for sex. It's the undesirable being chased by the undatable.
Think of it this way - people generally don't do things that they don't want to do if they don't need to.
Chads don't go on OLD and then bring out fat average looking girls to dinner, and then drive them home (and not get any poon) because they don't need to engage in that behaviour.
Any guy that has the game to pick up girls IRL is not going to be bothering with OLD. And woman that is getting hit on by top 20% guys doesn't need to go on OLD.

Dating apps are convenient for chads, especially introverted ones, I don’t think it’s a matter of not having a chance IRL - they like the convenience of ordering off of a menu while they take a shit. I’ve used female friends’ Tinder and unless the pictures are fake, there’s plenty of guys for women to salivate over on Tinder in my city.

thats just the thing - I don't think OLD is convenient for chads at all. Because chads can laid IRL. All of my pals that have used OLD say the same thing, its a time sink. t here was a guy on this forum recently talking about 150 open threads...
What chads are finding is that the OLD Is full of time wasting chicks....that just end up flaking or catfishing.
IRL its much easier to spot and filter for time wasters. And fatties.
