Let's say, for example, that you find yourself experiencing a stroke, or you've been stabbed through the chest and are losing consciousness, or you've just been diagnosed with cancer, or you have early-onset alzheimer's and are no longer in full control of your faculties.

How do you maintain frame enough to keep the people who you've taken care of up to now, interested in taking care of you until you recover (or until you cack it, if recovery isn't possible)?

Especially, how do you do so when the parts of your brain responsible for emotional regulation and logical decision-making are actually shutting down and are no longer capable of participating in the process of 'being you'?

I wish this was theoretical.
