This is going to be an unusual post, and I'll be brief. We don't do product endorsements here and we're not activists, but since this is a place where we talk about Good Men, I want to point out that there are still a few places where masculinity is celebrated rather than condemned.
Ever since Gillette created their "Men Are Bad" commercial two years ago, I have not (knowingly) bought a single Proctor and Gamble product. It was such a public relations disaster that P&G reportedly lost around $5.24 Billion dollars in the next quarter... they took an $8B markdown from the Gillette division, which means they would have otherwise gained around $2.75B had they not gone out of their way to tell their customer base that they are "toxic." It might have been even more, since the boycott spilled over to other P&G brands.
Anyway, part of the backlash was in the form of a storm of videos criticizing the ad. A very small number of videos came out actively affirming masculinity. One of the best was by a little-known watch company named Égard , which was formed by Ilan Srulovicz as a tribute to his father.
His response to the Gillete ad is here (it's the third one down).
His tribute to his father is here (click on the link for the "Story of Egard").
Ilan also has a YouTube channel called "egardwatches" where he discusses issues surrounding masculinity. Some of those video are in-depth discussions and interviews that unabashedly celebrate the masculine. These guys are not PUAs, or woman-haters, or even MRAs... they are just Good Men, or as we used to say, "Manly men doing manly things in a manly way."
Check it out.
By the way, I am currently wearing one of these as I type.

I haven't bought gillette since either. I bought them almost exclusively before that. I'm sure I've accidentally bought a P&G product at some point, I'll have to be more vigilant.

Proctor took a Gamble they couldn't handle. I will not currently support them.

I have not purchased a single Gillette product since the ad. I had a Fusion razor. When the replaceable heads were spent, I threw away the Fusion Handle. Whatever Gillette shaving creams I had, I used up and never purchased, again. I try to not buy P&G products, if I can. I do look for the P&G logo. If I see it, I don't buy it.

You do know the woman who created the ad is from the UK and is a lesbian. You can google and see for yourself.

I just purchased an Egard watch. I don't need a watch. I certainly don't need a watch for the prices charged. But I paid it, for the sole purpose of supporting this company, because this company deserves support, and because I can.
And if any of you are able, you should purchase one of their fine chronometers as well.

Good idea. I would ask for another product next week.

Thanks. My reason for making this post was because I stumbled across Ilan's YouTube channel and watched a 45-minute interview he did with a guy who's involved in a program that helps young men. They talked mainly about rites-of-passage, which is something I have written about on this sub (check my post history). The watches are a bonus... my Egard is currently the most beautiful thing I own, though.

I fully agree on the importance of male (and father's) acceptance for young men. As an only child of a divorced mother I know this personally. Luigi Zoja made a great comment on this - motherhood is biological, but fatherhood is social - every fatherhood is adoption. I recommend his book "The Father"

Awesome response to Gillette. I have also boycotted P&G. Fuck them and their toxic feminist pandering bullshit.

Great post. I too refuse to buy any Gillette products. You reminded me that I wanted to switch away from all P&G brands, so I may work on that today - take an inventory of my consumer product brands and see what alternatives to P&G are out there.
Our work here borders on the political. I stay away from such topics because I respect my fellow mods. But I would not be averse to more weekend posts where this sort of content is given some attention.

Same here, after their ad telling me I'm toxic just for being a man I haven't bought any of their woke garbage since.

Haven't bought Gillette since. They used to run positive ads for men, then came that shit ...

That is a stunner of a watch. Bookmarked for a possible future purchase.
