"The Red Piller's Guide to Online Dating:" Word Fodder
Word Fodder (werd fod.der) n. -a conflict-adverse reflective word or words men’ll use to ‘soften’ the tone of their messages, similar to how some guys’ll add ‘lol’ or ‘ :-) ’ before/after messages to make them less blunt, brash, harsh, cold or succinct.
This post'll teach you how to tell if you're word foddering when you're texting bitches.
At the bottom you'll find a nice list of the most common Word Fodders I've noticed after months of giving RPer's Text-Game/Tinder advice.
If you're using these a lot, you're weakening your Alpha assertion in favor of PC-esque linguistics.
Without the big words? You care too much about whether the girl on the other end sees you as "overly-abrasive", "overly-aggressive", "too to-the-point" or too predatory.
But you want to be those things. Or at least seen as those things. It causes Polarization.
While I'm not a big fan of the book Models I really like that term. I'm gonna dumb this way down but:
Polarization (po.lar.ee.zay.shun) v. -an act, appearance or trait that, for those who're perceiving them, makes the process of categorization within some sub-genre (in this case either Alf or Betafish) both easy and effort-free.
Speaking/texting succinctly instead of padding you're responses. Don't decorate it. Just say it. It sounds more Alpha.
-
Ambiguous: So then, what brings are you all the way out here to L.A.?
- Alpha-esque: Why'd you move here?
Sounds like a no-brainer. But I bet my bottom bitch that if you talking to an some hot little thing compared to your run-of-the-mill Ugg-wearing Chia-drinker you're likely over-packing your sentences with Word Fodder.
How do I know? Why do you do that? Because you don't want to mess shit up. She's hot. And not wearing Uggs. You don't want her not to like you. You know if you polarize and she doesnt reciprocate, you're donezo. Being ambiguous (not leaning heavy-Red or heavy-Blue) gives you some time to work with.
But you know what? If she doesnt respond to quick polarization, the long con's moot.
If acting Red from the start puts her off then showing up Red later isn't going to change her mind. She wasn't interested before, isn't interested now. And by waiting you've wasted time gaming a dud.
I've been there. It sucks.
Chicks make their mind up fast.
If she's cute she's got options. Mr. Ambigious loses out to Clearly-Red guy because where Red guy stands on stuff is clear from the start.
Again. By padding out sentences to make your sentences "softer"...
you're weakening your Alpha assertion in favor of PC-esque linguistics.
Anyways, here's some examples of Word Fodder. Think about them for a bit.
Examples
"So what do you do for fun?"
Note: Common word fodder.
"Well what do you do for fun?"
"Yeah I love sushi."
Note: The "Yeah" is redundant. Use either "Yeah" or just "I love sushi".
"Hey, can I ask you something?"
"You should make me a sandwich."
Note: "Should" implies a suggestion and is a covert attempt at being overt. Women say "You should" to strongly suggest they want something without outright saying it. Alpha's are expected to be overt.
"Why don't we go to the bar for some drinks."
Note: Common word fodder.
"We should go to the bar for some drinks."
Note: This is also common word fodder.
"Let's go to the bar for some drinks?"
Note: Even more common.
Another Note: A better phrase to start these with would be like... I don't know, "Come with me..." "Come to..." "I'm going to..." "Meet me at..." "I'll be at..." "See you at...". Something like those I guess.
"Don't worry. I don't bite."
"I don't bite ;-)"
Note: The winky faces are the worst in my opinion.
"Lol I don't bite."
"Haha I don't bite."
"I don't bite lol"
Note: Obviously just "I don't bite" would've been the best alternative.
"What are you looking for on here?"
Note: "on here" is redundant/overly-specific. Like going to the mall at asking someone "What're you shopping for at the mall?"
"What're you looking for on Tinder?"
Note: Same deal here.
Look guys. You ain't got to be succint and stern (S&S?) and junk to text girls without word fodder.
A&A for example.
-
"Yeah, I'm the sexiest man alive. I benchpress dolphins on nude benches lol"
- "I'm the sexiest man alive. I bench press dolphins on nude beaches."
Minor change, but look at the difference it makes in tone. Just a twinge of seriousness and confidence in there that the "Yeah" and "lol" take away. Word fodder.
Lesson Learned
You're not the only one that thinks online dating/texting is annoying as hell. Shit's tough. We say "watch what they do not what they say" but that's tough when texting is nothing but saying. Length of text, time of text, frequency of text and choice of wording is all we've got to go by. But we don't give up. We learn and adapt.

So glad you posted this. I just noticed myself doing this last week and couldn't really pinpoint exactly what I was doing. All I knew was that whatever came out of my mouth usually wasn't what I wanted to say. Things were always softened.
I was reading some old emails from my ex-fiance that I was comfortable with and noticed that I almost never softened my language with her. It seems like I mostly do it at work because I have a female boss who is an overweight feminist and all of my coworkers are female so I feel compelled to supplicate a little. Do you think it would be advantageous to continue using some word fodder in a situation like that or is it counterproductive?
thisisathrowaway2703 10y ago
I opened a tinder chat with "I don't usually date sluts, but maybe you could be an exception". She replied with "that makes me angry, but strangely drawn to you" I felt like I had been given cheat codes. I knew what was going on for her better than she did.
0fuqs4u 10y ago
I'd like to add the word "just" to your list. I've had to consciously monitor myself in personal and professional messages to stop using it. I think it's victimizing yourself and seeking sympathy when you make a request rather than state what you want. Examples:
"I just wanted to remind you that I need that report by tomorrow" should be "Don't forget that I need that report by tomorrow."
"I was just wondering if you're free on Friday night" should be "I want to see you on Friday night."
"I'm just looking for a ride to the show" should be "I need a ride to the show if you have an open seat."

How do you communicate to men?
Same way or different?
Alpha is alpha with women, what do you need to do with your pals and other guys?
-Riskbreaker- 10y ago
I hope at least one person takes this too far and goes full caveman "come bar we drink den fuck"
[deleted] 10y ago
Youd get farther than Mr Ambiguous. I dont apologize for what I feel anymore. Like me, hate me, whatever. I do what I do and let the chips fall where they may. Its the only way to live.

I'm gonna give that a fo for a laugh next bite
TRP_Lee_zard 10y ago
In Poland there is a "joke" that the most Alpha guy would walk up to a girl and say something in line of: do you fuck or will I have to date you?
I once though about it as funny, now I realize it might...it will work.

This is why i think a little bit of tact doesn't hurt, specially at the start, going all "Come to my place now" will come off overly aggressive and might scare some since you don't know the person beforehand ("this guy is from the internet they might be dangerous")
PUA_Wanna_be 10y ago
There is this exercise in self-confidence: For the entire day, you open women by asking whether they want to have sex with you. I did it (in another town). The 4th woman I approached said "yes". (Unfortunately, it was because from up close she looked much worse I had thought when I first spotted her)
dingman58 10y ago
So did you fuck her or not

I tried a direct opening: "Hi, I like you, when can we meet?" on twenty or so matches but they always unmatched me. Hence I gave up on it. Maybe others have had more success.
My experience with Tinder supports what OmLaLa says in the post. I normally use "fodder" words to smoothen the conversation. However I regularly resort to curt sentences or even nominal sentences because I am fed up with texting and quite often the women respond well and I get the first date.
Greek_Odyssey 10y ago
Lose the I like you. By admitting this you've entered her frame. A woman should only guess at whether you like her not know it explicitly.
Turkerthelurker 10y ago
You're messaging her, of course you like her. It is fodder and sounds supplicating.
Conversely, she swiped on you too. Treat her like you already know she likes you.

Interesting. I'm a huge offender with word fodder, which affects how I come across.
azrise 10y ago
I personally disagree with this and won't implement it into my game. Texting is already boring as shit and you'll only make it worse if you speak to the girl like you're the Terminator.
Smileys and other terms which you call "word fodders" are a good way to convey that you have a fun personality. They represent emotions/facial expressions that would otherwise be imperceptible to the person on the other side. These things are, in my opinion, tools of communication and they can be very good tools if used wisely.
I agree with your idea but I think that it comes more down to the attitude that we employ rather than the words we use.
I know that you are the top RP reference when it comes to online game and you know a lot more than I do about this. I've learned quite a lot from your other threads but this one advice I will choose to discard.
princepeanutbutter 10y ago
ha, agreed. I do tend to use one command like OP at least once before meeting, to test/establish my lead. For example if she has just one or two pics I'll say 'send more pics'. If she sends them that's a warm lead to me because she's following my lead, which confirms interest.
projectself 10y ago
His post is not about being an effective communicator. It is about online dating, and the period of time between you meet a girl on okc, pof or tinder and before you fuck her. That period of time is a limbo.
During that period of time, you are not real. Neither is she to you. Untill both of you are standing in front of each other, neither are real.
She has seen your pictures, and you have seen hers. That initial attraction is all that matters until you see her.
What omlala is very correctly stating is that during this limbo period of time, you should be doing three things. Thing 1) do not cock block yourself. That means do not be all clingy and cute. Communicate clearly and be done with it. Thing 2) Generate tension, because you cannot have sexual tension without tension. Thing 3) go for rejection, polarize. The idea being that some women are going to be totally into you, and that you should try to find out who they are as soon as possible so that you do not spend time on some girl who just wants a free drink or dinner or fuck. That be being polarizing, it does not truly matter at all what you say, if she is into you - she will love it. She will be fuck yes or fuck no. Girls who are in the fuck yes category are absolutely the best dates you can get.
Of course as you get to know her, you will be a human and communicate more clearly. This is not about that. This is about the "I liked her picture, sometime in the next 7 days I will meet her, what is she like period". So simple rules.. don't cock block yourself and over text, dont kill tension by being too accommodating and 3, challenge her a bit to gauge her interest in you.

"Smileys and other terms which you call "word fodders" are a good way to convey that you have a fun personality."
Wrong, it conveys that you are a nice guy.
Besides, I just got "your humor is the best" or some comment like that from a girl on tinder, i've never used any smiles...
Greek_Odyssey 10y ago
When you're logged as a nice guy what registers in her mind is "I am looking to fill a position as betabucks. For my qualifications please proceed to my bio."
[deleted] 10y ago
Ok, was this post about getting laid as quickly as possible on dating sites? Because, I'm a gay guy that uses online dating tools for dates. I don't assign to any of this alpha/beta nonsense because I'm gay, looking for a relationship, and am attracted to intelligence and personality on the most part. Soooo, all of this is very foreign to me because I only wish to improve myself towards my own standards, not those of whom I'm trying to fuck/date.
But, as I was reading through, I was vastly more attracted to the word fodder sentences. The straight-forward 'alpha' sentences are in fact how many no-strings-attached, discreet, 'straight', or married dudes proposition guys for sex online. Such as: Dick pic "Let's fuck."
This is an immediate turn off for me, hopefully for obvious reasons. Even if I'm discussing the proposition of sex with a guy, I MUCH prefer to keep the conversation casual, intimate, and open, as I'm not able to have sex with mysterious strangers, I'm just not wired that way, I have to at least like them slightly as a person.
Is this really how straight guys have to 'play the game' with women? Don't get me wrong, I'm not successful in the gay dating world, mostly because I'm looking for real connections, and if I actually tried such alpha things I'm sure I'd be successful..... BUT, I'm immediately adverse to changing or 'fixing' my personality just to be able to play in the park with the cool kids. Any straight guys out there that are anti the PC culture and modern feminism and all that that get where I'm coming from?
Greek_Odyssey 10y ago
Just because you don't want to play doesn't mean there's no game being played. It is a man's responsibility to realize the world does not revolve around him or his fucking needs.
You're not changing to play with the cool kids you're changing to level the playing field

Thank you, OmLaLa.
Word fodder was a really bad habit of mine. I think it is a natural bad habit for "Nice Guys^TM" and natural BP-ers because they (and I, in the past) are so bloody keen to avoid looking 'predatory'.
In truth, that is exactly how you need to come across and definitely how you should come across - if the rest of your 'package' (snort) is in good shape.
If you are earning, learning, lifting and glowing with the light that a decent life provides, a girl will want that successful alpha to be predatory.
Word foddering implies that the girl is not aware of the game that is being played, when in reality she is more aware (and now more in control) than you.
reigorius 10y ago
You're selling yourself online. They pictures are your brochure. To prevent girls faking interest to get validation through attention, you want to close the deal preferably now than 20 texts further down the line.
I stopped chatting endlessly and just go for sealing the deal ASAP. And that's getting their number. Then the next play start.
OmLaLa 10y ago
A good product doesn't need to convince it's buyers to buy it. No one needs a long explaination on the computer specs of a Mac or an iPhone to want one. The real question is can they afford one?
Be... be a Mac. Be overly-expensive, highly sought after with minimalist marketing.
verify_account 10y ago
And people give me shit for calling sales people slimy. I agree, you don't see a salesmans for a good product; it will sell itself, but for those of us who are still working on our product, we've got to sell like crazy and this is great advice.
Hamilton950B 10y ago
I stumbled on to this by accident when my phone died and I temporarily switched to a prehistoric old phone that needed the old "press '2' three times for 'C'" routine. Started sending texts like "meet me 5:30 ricks wear red dress."
RedDeadlift 10y ago
Did you notice a difference?
1v1mebruh 10y ago
yea im actually curious to hear this, any noticeable difference in girls' responses?
Hamilton950B 10y ago
Yes, although I made a few other changes around the same time that I think also helped. For example I no longer try to set up a "date" several days in advance. Also I tend to text only for logistics, having gotten the number in person. I don't use tinder.
becredible 10y ago
How long in advance do you set up your "dates"?
Hamilton950B 10y ago
The same day or at most the day before. I think Rational Male talks about this.
becredible 10y ago
How well does that work for you? That seems really short notice.
Hamilton950B 10y ago
It works very well. I used to call on Tuesday for a Saturday date, then she would cancel or just not show up. Now I make plans to do something for myself, like drinks after work, and text a few hours ahead. If she doesn't show up, no big deal, I was going anyway and I still do. But three times out of four she'll show up. The rest of the time she actually has legitimate plans (or just isn't interested) and says "no" and I go on to the next phone number. Actual cancellations or no-shows are very rare now. As I recall, Rational Male attributes this partly to hypergamy (she got a better offer between Tuesday and Friday) or hormonal cycles (she was horny on Tuesday, but by Saturday she's PMS).
[deleted] 10y ago
When people say abundance mentality this is exactly what they are trying to say. You may polarize her the wrong way, but that's the point. It is far better to polarize 90% away from you and 10% toward you than 100% lukewarm going nowhere. You have to be willing to walk away.
I use your 'What're you looking for' line frequently, lately a bit further down the conversation than I used to. I find its the main turning point (see: polarization) of the conversation. I'd say about 20% of the time they ask 'on tinder?' and I just say 'Yes' as most A&A attempts usually just freak them out and they don't reply. What do you typically reply with and what is another polarization technique you sometimes employ in its place or to compliment the line?
Wel108 10y ago
I ask usually very soon in the convo, "Why Tinder?" Then based on the answer, which i always get one, i begin to ask questions about her life. I never ever ask the "what do you do for work/fun" because everyone does just that. I wish i knew the number, but in my experience with over 30+ on Tinder, they're mostly rebounding. So they're seeking some kind of emotional comfort. I just play the simple questions game and get her to open up. I never ask for her number, the second i see that she's replying quickly, I simply write my number in the chat and say, "text me (name) it's easier" and I'll never respond till texts. I find that women whether on Tinder or not are more likely to text you if you give your number, rather than ask for theirs. But you do have to schedule a meet very soon, the text game no matter how good you are gets boring without a quick meet. Something to establish some kind of value.
TheElite3740 10y ago
I often get responses when asking that. Then following gatsby tinder game post on TRP, I'll reply to there "blah blah what about you?" With something stupid which often gets a response ie "to fulfil ras al ghuls destiny..(and maybe meet you)
reigorius 10y ago
Since using Omlala's guide, the line 'What are you looking for' and the following 'What's your number' I'm being accused of being very direct & bossy and yet they do give their numbers. It's fascinating.
I just leave it at that. As long as it polarizes. I want them to make a choice and follow my lead. If they submit through text, date wise it's much easier.
I open convo by calling them a funny name. Instead of hi, it's 'hi oliebol'. The word means a piece of traditional Dutch food around New Year. But literally it means round and fat. They reply more often and always with the same remark.
OmLaLa 10y ago
See this is good. It opens them up to your frame on initiation by forcing a question out of them ("what's a oliebol?" "Where are you from?") without you having to drop said frame. Good on you.
whitespades 10y ago
You : what r u lukin 4
Her : blah blab....you? (Usually their reply is "A gentleman always starts with Hello") (In Europe)
You : k
Her : Always Hamsters goes crazy. ( Follow up questions)
From here they enter your Frame.
Just like OmLaLa said in his guide, if you show less invested, they enter your frame. Its a direct step to getting the number.
I have started texting with small letters with no punctuation, question mark and grammar.
EDIT : Formatting
rushawa20 10y ago
Are you sure typing like a 13 year old is a good idea?
vengefully_yours 10y ago
I've gotten laid by knowing the difference between innuendo and double entendre, though many girls can't grasp the concept of "hey I know you, we went to separate schools together" which can work on a smart girl.
VodkaTankerSpill 10y ago
Try replying is medium length, coherent sentences and you can feel their pussy wither through the phone.
MasterUm 10y ago
Especially "haha", "lol" and smilies are a real plague for beginning guys. That is a huge attraction killer. Just listen how many women talk - they use any opportunity to laugh or chuckle at the end of their own phrases, as if to shake away responsibility. Man doesn't do that. I'm responsible for every word I type, and I mean it. Eradicate that shit from your written speech immediately and completely.
Also, OmLaLa, that is one great post.
J_AsapGem 10y ago
This is a brilliant post, i was actually thinking the same thing and realize that i word "fodder" some of my statements, so thanks for pulling my socks up. Question though what if the hot girl is reciprocating to your alpha-esque, do u then throw in a few ambigousness?
OmLaLa 10y ago
After you polarize the world is your oyster. Game then becomes "don’t fuck it up".
dr_warlock 10y ago
Polarization is key. It clearly divides those who are interested from those who aren't. It's a time saving strategy ==> "Go for the no."
-
Many guys believe the duration of the interaction is directly proportional to her interest. True, but only if you're escalating appropriately, and only in person. There's a point in the interaction you must make the next step, whether it's with kino, relocation, asking for her number, or nudging the topic to a more sexual vibe. If you linger too long at one base, the next batter will be up. She will lose interest assuming you're not interested or not confident enough to push the limits. Either way, los tingles gone.
-
Go for the no.
sir_wankalot_here 10y ago
Polarization is another word for preselection. The best salespeople preselect so they don't waste time on pointless targets.
[deleted] 10y ago
Exactly, it's important to know when the right point for polarization is, not too early not too late.
J_AsapGem 10y ago
Gentleman, the abundance mentality of text, this is awesome.
Primemale 10y ago
Superb article. It makes a massive difference to how you are perceived. No confident, alpha dude who gets laid would give so much consideration as to whether she is going to find you too blunt or not, you know what's probably going to happen? she's probably going to get tingles, this is the same for personal interaction too for example, when I get a girls number, I don't say ''can I have your number?'' I will pass her my phone and say ''put your number in'' one is blunt, the other less so.
Also note: if your going to be blunt online and avoid word fodder (and through text) she's going to expect you to be more blunt in person, which people often call ''charm'' when it comes from a don huan.
becredible 10y ago
Another big difference that OmLaLa didn't explicitly say but implied is telling/commanding the girl instead of asking. "Can I have you number" vs. "put your number in." "Why don't we go" vs. "come to" or "meet me at."
Primemale 10y ago
Yeah exactly, that's what I was implying also. Don't give them a choice about it because their inherently indecisive, tell them what to do, if they are really not keen you will know about it. another example: ME ''what you doin tonight?'' Her''Nothing, you?Me ''taking you out, pick you up at 8'' if she can't or has a problem with it she will let you know, there is no reason for word fodder or being indirect, all it displays is being scared of rejection which isn't attractive in a man, and within the context of virtual communication will set you apart from the crowd. Many guys still won't do this for fear of rejection, although that just means they still don't have abundance mentality.

This is great.. I'll just add that word fodder can serve a purpose in real life but it should be used sparingly and with purpose.
That purpose should never be to de-polarize.
Places where you may want to use it:
During your opener. Say "hey", then pause so that she has time to process. Otherwise the answer to your opener will be "What?" 95% of the time.
To change the subject after someone else says or does something awkward. "So...." With the correct timing you will get a laugh and lead the conversation to more fruitful places.
Don't do any of this over text because she has all the time in the world to process and you cannot control timing or subtext over instant messaging.
[deleted] 10y ago
OmLaLa you shouldn't label this explicitly for online dating. All of this advice is also valid in real life interactions. It's harder to execute though, one needs the bodylanguage to pull it off.
Just compare this:
"Hey I thought you looked cute and I wanted to say hi to you" is nice, unthreatening and not polarizing enough.
"Stop! You are cute. Hi." This generates much more tingles if spoken with confidence and a handsome smile. Telling her to stop walking, telling her she is cute, doing a meaningful pause and then continueing with a strong hi. You're in now.
OmLaLa 10y ago
I'd get a lot of slack if I tried to push it that way.
A&A's real big right now. Being wordy is part of its charm. Limiting it to the online dating series makes it easier to swallow. And those that can pick up that addressing word fodder can also be used IRL (like yourself) will.

Good post, I've been guilty of this even recently with a plate that I had to let go and break on her own. I partly caused it by acting 'softer' after I knew her a few months in this manner, I think this is what caused her shit to start getting out of control. Don't fall for this trap, I say put this on the sidebar because so much game nowadays is text game and it's so easy to screw up just once and lose every bit of progress made just from one single text done wrong.
reigorius 10y ago
If they find you attractive online, what you say is not that important. If they doubt a bit, for whatever reason, you want to polarize. Force them making a decision. It's there where text game is fickle.
[deleted] 10y ago
Long-term over a week or two even after you have already met and even bagged one (my experience here) you can send one text too soon and all of a sudden their tone changes, they flake a few times and then you never see them physically again. That's another thing, the same info to be scarce when it comes to dates and make them work around your schedule also applies to texting. You don't have to respond to each text where she's talking about her cats or other shit that doesn't involve you. It doesn't build rapport. You can only build rapport in person. If you text too much or even reply to their shit this is where many guys including me trip up. It's not being polite, it's almost a shit test if you reply too soon and quick for unimportant stuff.
reigorius 10y ago
I'm not so sure. To be honest, I think they sensed a bit too much betaness in your behavior in real life. Once a new girl starts changing her opinion of you for the worst, there is not a whole lot you can do. They hamster away every word you say. They twist and turn it, until it suits the narrative they created in their mind. It boggled my mind for a long time when my last chick acted happy, but behind the scenes, her hamster used the clashes we had as yet fuel to speed up her fucking hamster to crazy speed and painted me as the villain.
To counter that is to polarize. Use dread, stop replying, be overly aggressive in bed, be confrontational if she misbehaves, etc. Force her to follow her narrative or yours.

No she got tingles in person, even went as far to say I make her silly when I'm around. I forgot my deoderant a few times on purpose and she kept asking why I smelled so good, I mean all over me. Nothing wrong in person. But I responded to a few texts I know I should not have, the meaningless kind. It's like a switch flipped. 1 or 2 texts was all it took. Texting can bring you down if not timed or wrote properly. Especially since women can misread the tone of a text to turn something playful into something menacing in tone depending on what movie they just watched to put them in a mood. It's fucking silly. And again I know I made the mistake, I was doing fine for a while and thought the bit of rapport built in person could translate through text but it was a maybe. Now I know as a fact it doesn't.
reigorius 10y ago
Well then, it's not you then. If a girl digs you, a few texts really can't destroy attraction. Something else is at play here.
[deleted] 10y ago
I'm calling hypergamy, she had many red flags one of which is never being with someone long. I was it for a bit over a month solid if not close to a few months then she wanted something different and new I guess. As said in other places here some women just suffer higher levels of hypergamy than others and cannot stay with a single man for long.
I think things were slowly warming up to 'relationship' levels in her head since we started to talk and text more and she decided to bail all of a sudden. Funny thing too, I was a good influence and she stopped drinking and slowed down the other bad habits. She probably had a bitch-out moment in her head where she didn't want to act 'good' I assume, I never made her do any of that I just encouraged it. Whatever, I left her better than I found her and I learned that when it comes to those type of women keep texting and talking minimal. Only build rapport and attraction in person.
complex21 10y ago
An example that Stoicism can apply in text game as well. Always say less than necessary.
becredible 10y ago
It's actually always say only what is necessary.

Why aren't you a fan of Models?
OmLaLa 10y ago
Models is all about this "display vulnerability to women " crap that I'm not for at all.
It also refers to us as fake online alphas in the foreword (he's not so subtle on who he's talking about).
thewrightstuff88 10y ago
Have you had a chance to fully read the book? I can understand why you think that way if you haven't read the book but his definition of vulnerability is different than the typical one. He means vulnerability in the sense that you are able to take rejection and still move on instead of not being able to take rejection and trying again.
Sure, the word itself isn't the best choice but the idea behind it is solid.
OmLaLa 10y ago
It's not just the word. I know what he was going for. But there were some examples I don't agree with.
Like how he says to reveal interpersonal details about yourself to show how open you are to be Mason-esque vulnerable. Show you don't care what she thinks about you by just telling her deep stuff about you and junk.
On paper, sure. Sounds pretty reasonable. "I'm an Alpha so why care who knows about me?" But it doesn't account for the bigger picture.
The "mystery" surrounding you has dissipated and the door of validation is now open. You're now just another guy.
If you're aiming for LTRs and junk, this book is perfect. Opening a tiny hole in frame so that she can see a heart beating inside works in the long con. But plate spinning? I keep my mouth shut. I'm a rock because they need to see a rock.
I think there's a ton of elements in that book all newbies should here. Honestly. But if plate spinning's your deal watch what you reveal. Oh snap I rhymed a bit there.
Now... this is based around my game and my perspective. I'm like... a hardcore stoic. And Mach. Which means playing cards too soon might weaken future manipulation. Play to fantasies and stuff. But yeah. If Models's your bag, cool.
princepeanutbutter 10y ago
Frankly if your game relies on omitting modal verbs from your texts then you are something of a 'fake alpha.'
What I've learned is that game doesn't have to be perfect, in fact it can be better it's not because you're getting girls who are legitimately attracted to you and don't need to be pitch perfect for every moment. Models is about creating a game for yourself that comes natural and can be consistent, but I suppose this is an argument for another time.
SarsaparillaCorona 10y ago
Not only that but if you apply everything in that book and stick to it, you can become self calibrating, meaning that when placed in a situation not covered in the book, you have the ability to react in a way that at minimum is good enough to get you there.
With that said, Om's and endorsed contributors' reports are great strengtheners to the framework outlined by Manson.
Moldy_Gecko 10y ago
I add the "on here" or "on Tinder", etc., because 3/4 times after I ask "What are you looking for", I get, "What do you mean" or "on Tinder?". In which case I reply with, "On Tinder" or "Yeah" respectively. I figure I just cut it down to one sentence.
To be honest, I'm actually not a fan of this post. Winky faces, hahas and lols create comfort with a girl. Literally had some Chinese chick tell me in her bed last night that she didn't intend to take me home but she just felt so comfortable around me. This comfort started with me initiating the texting and with her initiating the meet.
If anyone knows anything about the popular mystery method, game is Attraction+comfort+seduction. Attraction is easy (but might not come naturally to some (was my biggest area of work)), I'm a natural when it comes to comfort and seduction is just not being a pussy and making moves. Comfort is by far the hardest one to build with a girl, especially if you are a player or typical asshole. As we all know, shit tests are usually easy to tell (attraction), but comfort tests (comfort, duh) is a little harder to decipher.
Building comfort before you even meet a girl can be key. Just use it sparingly. Every post shouldn't be "haha :) yeah", but it should be in your repertoire, mixed in with the redpill mentality. Really, that's all it is. If you go into texting with the redpill mentality, it doesn't really matter what you say.
OmLaLa 10y ago
If they ask that's cool. But don't answer that way in expectation of the question. Let the question come. I'm sure we all know that one guy that justifies himself literally as he's talking as if conversation is the same as writing a thesis paper. Like he's answering any possible questions you could've had about his first sentence all at once.
"I went to the video store. They have the best deals on Blurays like at the time and I don't normally go that far out of my way for a movie like Taken but the prices we're too good to pass up. And I like Taken because it's a clever reimagining of an old folk tale..."
See how conflict-adverse that seems?
Don't talk like that to chicks (with dudes its cool). Girls don't communicate that way.
dr_warlock 10y ago
Lmao. This hit home. Used to do this. Upon introspection, it was me trying to quit the banter asap and get her to agree to a date soon. I knew the day was running out and knew she would take her sweet time trying not to look like an eager slut and play hard to get.
Don't do it.
Moldy_Gecko 10y ago
Right, that's understood. I get that. But as far as adding 2 words for clarification that is more than likely going to be asked, I do it. It probably doesn't help that I live in Japan and that whole language thing. Like if you ask someone "what do you do" and they reply with something not work related because they didn't understand the question.
OmLaLa 10y ago
日本でも音の喋ることが本当に大事じゃないだ。AWALTだから。
Moldy_Gecko 10y ago
Could you repeat that in English? ちょっと変。
OmLaLa 10y ago
Even in Japan what girls say isn't really important. AWALT and junk.
変だった?何だ?
Moldy_Gecko 10y ago
I thought that's what you were getting at. You're completely right. However, this is where I believe AWALT is cultural/regional to some extent. And depending on the girls. As Japan gets more westernized it's fitting right in the mold of what we know already as AWALT, but there is still a massive remnant of the old culture, so the approaches and things you have to say are different. I'm actually going to go one step further and say what girls say in Japan is even LESS important than what they say in western countries. There is this whole "do not offend", "be shy" type attitude. Also, I find them to be a million times more feminine than western women. This is probably because Japan is still a very much Patriarchal (not masculine) society.
DforDeadpool 10y ago
Great post mate. Do you think "I was wondering, bla bla" as an opener would be a word fodder?
OmLaLa 10y ago
It sure is. If you're asking a question it's a given you were wondering.
The whole sentence "Can I ask you a question?" is word fodder too. That's some paradoxical shit right there. You're asking a question about asking a question. Asking permission to ask.
That's just silly.
DforDeadpool 10y ago
But, for instance, wouldn't entering the conversation like "Do you always have this serious face?" be a little too much in terms of her investment? Or maybe "I wanted to ask [enter] Do you always have this serious face?" would be the "lesser evil" in this case.
Greek_Odyssey 10y ago
With a high enough SMV you can get away with almost anything and the hamster will find a way to rationalize it into something endearing. So polarize the shit out of the conversation. All it does is get rid of women who aren't interested saving you time and effort.
becredible 10y ago
This is true. Once at a halloween party, while drunk, I saw a girl in a slutty cat costume. So I said "are you a slutty cat?" Her response was "hey! you can't say that!" with a fake surprised face followed with a huge smile and "but yea, I am."
That was during my blue pill times. I was so shocked I got away with that for years until I finally swallowed TRP. It was attractive and got a good response because I was saying what was on my mind without reservation, which polarized her, and in this case positively.
Greek_Odyssey 10y ago
I've come to notice that once you say something outrageous she'll throw out a shit test hence the "hey! you can't say that!" just to see whether it was intentional or not. If you hold frame and are high enough in SMV you can get away with pretty much anything after that. With a low SMV one is labelled a creep.
I do hope you closed her that night but if not let us reminisce on the lost opportunities of our blue pill days, cringe then smile knowing that shit is behind us and the world is now our oyster. I know I missed a lot of opportunities looking for a meaningful relationship with the one...
Veqq 10y ago
Always have that (serious) face? / What with the face?
DforDeadpool 10y ago
Thanks but those seem ridiculous/insulting in my language. Of course good for using on English speaking chicks.
Veqq 10y ago
What language? Would've been useful to put that in your question then.
And yes, it's not generally good to literally translate and this entire point is based off of being contrary to the current norms. Speaking with Russians for example, being rather formal, archaic and longwinded (but not rambling), using the polite pronoun even, does wonders.
HedoNNN 10y ago
I'm a bit confused, many girls have told me that I tend to impress them too much, they feel insecure as I'm too bold.
It seems I have missed many opportunities to seduce shy girls, so now I'm deliberately working on softening my approach... what gives?!
OmLaLa 10y ago
Watch what they do not what they say dude. Chicks say sideways shit. She'll say she only talks to sappy guys today and fuck a stoic dude tomorrow. Based on that, what's she like?
HedoNNN 10y ago
No "she", "them". Many really cute & hot girls told me I'm too blunt in affirming what I want. They find themselves inferior to me and stay with shy guys. I would have like to bang them so hard.

Most of communication is non-verbal. Most of online dating is complete fuckery anyway, I don't know why anyone would waste time analyzing it to this degree.
Post your best photos. Get them offline as soon as possible. The End.

Crap, OmLaLa! Just commented my smartest words on your previous edition of this post and now it is gone, wiping all comments and votes! Previous post was so much better than this one! LOL
EDIT: found my comment in overview:
"For some drinks"is redundant as well: most people go to a bar for drinks - unless they are lawyers. Asking is weak as well: "Let's go to the XYZ (bar)".
In general, our communication is full with redundancy, PC shit and social filler. Both because most people do not think about their writing and they want to be liked. The best writers actually remove words - only to leave enough of them to actually say what they want it to mean. But, as many are paid by the word...
