ChubbyHubby cant help being a lardass with mantitties because...... Science.
Read how this Beta Dad blames everyone but himself for his fat ass. I am sure he posts regularly in Dead bedrooms.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/men/active/mens-health/11755441/Did-fatherhood-give-me-my-dad-bod.html
Dadbod is gonna be one of the 2015 words of the year. Weak men everywhere are embracing the "Science" of their inescapable condition. Their wives are all encouraging this bullshit so they don't need to raise THEIR game as their SMV shits the bed. Cant lose them beta bucks after a few kids and a hard crash into the wall amiright?
|From the hearty stews eaten throughout pregnancy to the celebratory muffin baskets and takeaways gobbled with baby on your lap, there’s no mystery surrounding why a parent gains weight.
No dumb ass.. you dont HAVE to eat like this.
|a scientific study published this month, confirming the reality of the Dad Bod, comes as no surprise. The research by scientists at Northwestern University in the US followed 10,000 males from the age of 12 until 32. Over this time, the men who had children gained weight - an average of 4lbs - whereas the men who remained childless actually lost 1.4lbs. One of the most notable facts: the men who become “resident fathers” grew 2.6% fatter than fathers who scarpered.
ok.. ok..most American men are fat pussies. We know that.
|As a father of three, I concur with all of Dr Garfield’s findings, and indeed am a prime example of their veracity
I bet you do concur. Takes all the pressure off you to DO anything. It gets better.
|What I found out was this: the second a man enters a stable relationship with a woman, let alone procreates, he is on an inexorable pathway to obesity.
Yup.. cant be stopped. Know why?
|I didn’t need to care about how I looked because I was fundamentally off the market for life.
And there you have it: The Blue Pill fantasy. Eternal love from his woman. She loves him for who he is!
Fat Phil will live happily ever after with his snowflake and she wont mind his obesity. Nor will her hypergamy kick in when he tells the world he isnt capable of bedding ANY other woman. Ever.
There is a reason MOST marriages end in divorce and MOST are initiated by women.

Women like marrying men and having them get dadbods. They can have their beta bucks provide, then they can disengage and seek a better option, but they have a lazy safe haven the entire time while looking
[deleted] 11y ago
agreed 110%.. women are intimidated by their man getting better....
[deleted] 11y ago
If I maintained a ripped physique even after getting a woman pregnant behind her husband's back, would I have a DadBod? I would technically be a dad...
[deleted] 11y ago
I think it depends on if she successfully convinces her husband that its his kid. If so, then you would stay lean and mean
[deleted] 11y ago
Just don't be overweight and you're already in the top 1/3 of men.
Start exercising and you're in the top 10-20%.
Get lean and you're pretty much elite.

There is no excuse for being an out of shape soft piece of shit.
Seriously, developing beer gut? soft arms? no definition at all? 30lbs overweight for your height? Have you given up on life or something?
You need to nip that in the bud right away. One of the best things you can do in life is to develop a healthy repulsion to your own flabby gut and start getting obsessed with hitting the gym 5 - 6 times a week.
mrmeyhemn 11y ago
I "let myself go" for about 8 years and still had around 22% body fat when i started working out a little over a month ago. exercise, cutting sugars, starchy carbs, and only eating cheat foods once a week for the last 3 weeks. less than 8 weeks and i've dropped 10 lbs. body fat closer to 20% now.
this pudgy fucker needs to eat right and exercise, but its sooooo much easier to blame "family life" than do whats good for you.
Gunnilingus 11y ago
That doesn't seem quite right. There's about a 0% chance a 12 year-old is gonna weigh more than himself at age 32. I assume that must have been a typo, maybe between 22 and 32? Anyways, other than that solid post. People are encouraged by their biology to maintain equilibrium in their lives, whether it's the physical shape they're in, their diet, where they live, etc. Positive change always takes effort, and people tend towards avoiding effort. Ergo, the hamster spins to justify maintaining equilibrium.

This is why we need FatPeopleHate. They always had the best retorts for the hamstering known as fatlogic.

I live in a Marine Corps town. I see how guys go from mediocre-chubby (by USMC standards) to total slob within a year of getting out.
Without the threat of PFTs or height-weight standards, many of these guys just let it go.
I'm just shaking my head, like, the Marine Corps got you un-gross, and now that you're out, you're embracing your inner fat kid.
Now, clearly this isn't true for all former Marines, but it is a big trend I see.
PlanB_pedofile 11y ago
It's that "fuck it all" attitude and the pursuit of burgers and beer.
Complacency is a bitch. Especially when pressed with the choice of either downing a few pretzels and beer with bros or eating a salad and with a water.
NidStyles 11y ago
Fuck me. When I was fat after my "injuries" I fucking hated life. I don't know how anyone can be happy that way. Much less expect a women to be attracted to you while you gorge yourself to death...
Also notice in the wedding picture, he's looking at her, and she's looking elsewhere. This guy is an idiot.

"The dad bod is the physical manifestation of complacency"
Dom speaks the truth.
[deleted] 11y ago
I disagree. I believe that the dadbod is the physical manifestation of feminism.
Its all male feminists with dadbods. They identify themselves with the feminine, and thus set stupid feminine physical goals (being slim and pretty) instead of masculine ones (being big and strong)
StarDestinyGuy 11y ago
So it sounds like his wife has made it clear she wants him to lose weight as well.
Wow. This guy is pathetic. Because realistically that's clearly his biggest concern isn't it?
[deleted] 11y ago
This guy wouldn't know frame if he headbutted the fucking Mona Lisa.
You don't 'compromise' about YOUR HEALTH, and you ESPECIALLY don't play the role of 'the guy who doesn't need health' while your wife is playing the role of 'encouraging you to be healthy.' WTF???????????? That's so fucking insane it's like he's from a different planet, that makes NO SENSE.
Ibex3D 11y ago
It is dangerous to lose weight too quickly but I guarantee you this man will not fit what qualifies as too quickly. Too quickly is eating 800 calories a day and doing an hour or two of cardio. I know from experience. I did that and dropped from 400 to 300. If I weren't young when I did it I imagine it would've had horrible effects on my health. This guys doesn't have that in him. He doesn't want it enough to deprave himself like that. He doesn't hate his situation and his current self enough to do that. He's also not fat enough. I'm stuck at 280ish currently(albeit, I'm much leaner than most people my weight. I lift like a boss) and life here isn't bad. Sure woman don't come on to me but it's not like theres anything fit people can do that I can't. It's easy to be complacent. It's hard to go lower but if it wasn't hard it wouldn't be worth it.
DannyDemotta 11y ago
How about run a 6 minute mile? How about squat 2x your bodyweight without wraps on? Or 10 dead-hang pull-ups? Either lose the weight, or don't lose the weight. But keep your flimsy excuses to yourself. We can't have people reading your post and sympathizing with your feelz. Tell the truth. TRP is about holding yourself accountable - not making fucking excuse after excuse, because you can't get it done while everyone else is.
If you're worried about strength losses, then cut back on volume. You only need a 3x5 at around 85% to keep your strength in tact. You don't need to be doing 3x5 Bench, 5x8 Incline, Chest Flys, Tri Pushdowns, Skulllcrushers, Cable Crossovers, and 7 other meme exercises on Chest day. You don't even need a damn "Chest Day".
Here's your new workout plan
Day 1 - Bench 3x5, Pullups 3xAMRAP
Day 2 - Squat 3x5, Romanian DL 3x8, Sprints/Intervals
Day 3 - Incline Bench 3x8, T-Bar Row 3x8, Dips 3x10
Day 4 - Deadlift 3x5, Front Squat 3x8, Sprints
You're done. 3-5 minutes rest between sets. No bouncing from one thing to the next. You're not here to bulk up, you're trying to keep strength while losing fat. No burnout sets. No 135-minute sessions. No lifting until it burns all over and hurts to move. Do the basics, cut your calories, and you'll recover just fine. No cardio if you're dumb enough to think that burning 800 calories on the treadmill means you can eat two 400-calorie cupcakes, with no repercussions whatsoever. Otherwise, use the cardio for what it's meant for - to burn more fat, NOT to allow you to eat more garbage.
Ibex3D 11y ago
Dude, go fuck yourself. First off, 6 minute mile, squatting 2x your body weight, those are not things average people who go to the gym can do. Secondly, I said it was easy to be complacent here. That it's harder to go from 280-180 than 380-280. I didn't ask for sympathy or talk about my feels. I said Life at 280(while relatively athletic considering I run and powerlift as well as do various HIIT when I feel like changing it up) isn't that bad. I said it's usually not enough motivation to go drastic on the weightloss because life at 280 isnt torture like life at 380 was. You're just one of those people that looks for reasons to tear into people for being lazy. Try actually reading my post:
DannyDemotta 11y ago
Why are you using this phrase then
"Stuck"....implying that, despite your best efforts, you can't move the needle. You and I both know that's bullshit. You are CHOOSING to stay at 280lbs. Don't say STUCK, when what you mean is "I choose to be a 280lb bear-mode fat-ass so-called Powerlifter".
Words have power, and Words have meanings. Stop abusing them. You may convince other fat TRPers out there that it's OK to stay fat as long as you lift heavy. It's not. You'd be better off putting up DYEL weights and weighing 180, than being a fat-ass at 280 and...well...still probably pushing intermediate-at-best weights, lets not kid ourselves.
You know what's more impressive than a 280lb guy benching 400lbs? A 200lb guy benching 400lbs. The beauty of it? There's likely nothing at all stopping you from losing 80lbs and still benching the same. The only thing stopping you is YOU, and YOUR piss-poor fraudulent woe-is-me attitude.
Ibex3D 11y ago
Uh, actually I got stuck because I was using my fit bit to tell me how many calories I was burning and eating 500-750 calories under that. I realized after 2 weeks of not losing anymore weight that it was overestimating what I was burning. So you know what I'm doing now? Eating less calories. I said I was currently stuck there. You know what that means? I'm currently having trouble losing more weight. Did I say I was stuck there for ever? No. You ever get your car stuck in the mud and have trouble pushing it out? I hope that never happened to you because apparently when something is stuck that means you just stop trying to get it out. No, you call a buddy to help or find some way to get yourself unstuck. Losing weight isn't exactly easy. It's hard and clearly what I was doing wasn't working so I had to calculate and adjust. Do you lift? Sometimes you get to a certain weight and can't lift anymore. You get stuck there. So you keep going until you can finally add numbers to your lift. Until you do, you are stuck there. You're just some giant jack ass who is looking to berate people. Yeah, look at me with my woe-is-me attitude. Crying about how I can't lose weight and should just give up. Oh wait, I never said that. I'm oh so very sorry that I used a word you disagree with and am currently struggling to lose weight. You've totally convinced me to change my ways. i mean look at how lazy and unmotivated I am. I only work out 13 hours a week and cook 80% of my meals myself. I have such a piss poor defeatist attitude. Go screw yourself, loser.
DannyDemotta 11y ago
Unless you got your bodyfat checked via DEXA or a similar highly-accurate bodyfat testing method, and the test confirmed that you are <20% bodyfat (which it wouldn't)...then guess what. YOU ARE A FUCKING FAT ASS. All that stupid shit out of your mouth about "I'm lean for a guy my size!" is male hamstering. It's bullshit and you're lying to yourself. You said "eating 500-750 calories under that" - meaning you were aiming for about 1.5LB loss per week. NEWSFLASH, FAT ASS - You aren't hiding a 240lb physique model under all that fat. At best you have a 185lb physique model underneath, which means you should have been eating AT LEAST 1000-1200 under that amount, bare minimum. When you're a FAT ASS, a deficit that size doesn't cut into your muscle/strength the same way it does for people who are already LEAN.
You're also a fucking idiot. How fucking stupid do you have to be to pick a word-fight with someone who just worked up a multiple-paragraph based mostly on your use of the word "stuck" rather than a phrase like "temporarily plateaued"? What made you possibly think that was a good idea to argue semantics with someone like me? You're a moron. You're a fucking moron and you have no clue what you're doing - not with dieting, not with arguing like a man, none of this. You're losing in every single avenue.
You can work out 50 hours per week. It's not going to fucking matter if you keep stuffing your maw with 4000 calories because, hurr durr, that's what muh fitbit said I should eat. If the scale isn't going down at least 2lbs per week, YOU ARE FUCKING UP. Especially at your weight.
People like you are the worst. You come on here and you lie, and talk shit, and hamster and make excuses, and then when someone calls you out, instead of manning up you double down. I don't generally like to berate people--but I do like to berate idiots. Of which you are one.
My advice to you - and if you're smarter than I'm giving you credit for, you'll take it - stop fucking working out so much, stop stuffing your face, and get LEAN. There's no need to take a goddamned year and a half to go from 280lbs down to 185. I'm not telling you to crash diet, or to stop lifting, or any of that shit. I already told you what to do: a low-volume amount of compounds (squat, deadlift, bench, etc), maximum 3 days per week, and cut your calories to 2000. I don't give a flying fuck WHAT your calculators and PDFs and spreadsheets say you need - your body will burn your fat stores to make up the balance. It's not going to start burning muscle, even with a 1500-2000 deficit, until you're significantly lower bodyfat.
Now, you can either be a bitch and bitch some more and act like a little baby, or you can take advice from someone who knows what the fuck they're talking about - even if you don't like my attitude. I sure as shit don't like yours, but if you had advice that was worth a damn, I'd still take it.
Ibex3D 11y ago
God, you are so high on yourself. I'm not going to argue with an angry child. Peace.
DannyDemotta 11y ago
You better take my fucking dieting/lifting advice. I could be hit by a train and die tomorrow, but you clearly don't want to be a fat-ass for the next 5 years.
Losing 1lb/week is not going to cut it - ramp that shit up. You're not going to go into starvation mode. You're not going to get light headed and pass out. Your bench is not going to drop by 50 pounds. Cut your calories and get down to it. Right now you're literally paying more money to stay fat. That doesn't make any goddamned sense.
RPmatrix 11y ago
I"ve seen critically ill people lose over 25% of their "weight" and muscle mass in a month!
e.g 75kgs to 56kgs in 4 weeks of paralysis. It took the guy 10 yrs to recover to 62kgs, he's now back to 73kgs
Don't use it and you'll lose it! Simple
Caveat: Obese people can have a LOT of shitty 'fats' stored and they will release 'toxins' as they're metabolized, hence why 'rapid weight loss' could make one ill, is really only with people who are already well overweight and full of trans fats and other crap

If his metabolism is used to 800 calories he needs to fix that before he can cut calories again. What's he gonna eat 600 calories a day?
Dude needs to chill out and maintain for a while to keep his hormones up.
[deleted] 11y ago
[deleted]
aguy01 11y ago
I get tired of explaining how basic metabolism works but this is incredibly incorrect.
DannyDemotta 11y ago
Nice explanation, genius.
Yes this is exactly what TRP needs - fucking fatlogic and "starvation move" and blowhards and liars spouting this "you just wouldnt understand nutrition" bullshit.
You're fucking full of shit.
If OP was on 800 cals/day, he'd be shinking fast as fuck and a lot of it would be muscle. But he'd still be shrinking. Period. You cannot do on 800 cals what it takes the next man 3000 cals to do. I dont give a FLYING FUCK how messed up you claim your metabolism is. 2600? Maybe. 800? Fucking NO.
Explain your way around that. Liar.
aguy01 11y ago
He's probably eating more than 800 but still an unacceptably low amount. The body conserves significant energy by reducing basal body temperature, cellular metabolism in the immune system, and reducing energy expenditure from movement. People have been demonstrated to have basal energy expenditures below 600 calories while simultaneously being grossly overweight, after long histories of calorie restriction.
DannyDemotta 11y ago
Another post with no specifics, no links to any research studies, nothing but more bullshitting. Why am I not surprised? You're not even trying right now.
From OPs own post, it's easy to surmise he's still eating a significant amount of calories, but doesn't want to cut them further because he fears strength losses. Calorie Restriction likely isn't OP's problem - his problem is probably doing some marathon 2 1/2 hour workout multiple times per week, and whenever he cuts calories and can't get through it, he immediately blames the lack of calories - instead of the depth and breadth of his workout.
If OP would cut back to JUST 3x5 Bench, 3x5 Squat, and 3xAMRAP Pullups, twice per week, he could drop another 80 pounds easily eating <2000 calories per day. Instead, he's probably doing some PPL 6 days per week, with Chest day alone being 5-6 different exercises at 3 sets per. The glycogen just isn't going to be there to make gains while at a 1000+ calorie deficit, nor will it be there to do your normal amount of volume. Cut back the volume to strength-maintaining levels, drop the calories, and lose the goddamned weight.
I'm not a stupid fucking moron, dude. Most of us here aren't. So stop talking to us like stupid fucking morons. Either you have studies, you have research, you have some kind of anecdote that makes sense - or you have jack shit. Stop fucking sitting there pretending you have pocket aces when you have a 2-7 off-suit. Nobody is buying it.
aguy01 11y ago
Like I said I'm tired arguing this shit over and over, so yea, I'm not trying. I agree he should dial back the work outs, but eating <2000 isn't enough for a sedentary person of that size that does nothing more than walk to his car and back. Also, maybe not stupid fucking morons but there is still a ton of ignorance posted here.
[deleted] 11y ago
-Spartan boys left their families at 7 to be trained to become part of the full-time professional army. (time to become a man)
-Had very strict education and training. (self-improve or die)
-Boys were not well fed and punished if caught stealing food. (To teach discipline and experience the price of not "learning to fish" so to say)
-Boys were encouraged to fight each other but not in anger. (self defense training)
-Cowardice was seen almost as a crime. (Duh)
-Spartan education put emphasis on physical fitness. (Because FUCK DAD BODS. Weakness means falling to your enemy)
-Boys were taken to the sanctuary of Artemis Orthia to be flogged to show their toughness and endurance. (Experience pain and become resilient)
-Boys 7- 17 learned reading, writing, dancing and singing; also tough physical education (Becoming knowledgable, becoming cultured, and fit.)
-Older boys, 18-19, trained for the army and in survival techniques. (Survival of the fittest)
-Youths, 20-29, underwent rigorous military training as part of the standing army. (Defend your country or die and let your women be raped.)
-Young adults, 30+, were full citizens and expected to marry. (Start a family and continue to the growing population and defense of Sparta)
-All adult men belonged to 'messes'- small groups that met and dined together and were housed in individual 'men's houses'. (Male bonding and brotherhood)
The Spartans had it DOWN. Instead of looking for easy short cuts a la dad bod; they understood the grim reality that if they were not strong and fierce, they would die.
Women were encouraged to exercise, participate in physical activity, and participate athletics in order to harbor healthy Spartan children; not because they "hated women" or were "misogynists" but for the benefit of their future generations and legacy. Spartan women understood this and understood the role they serve in preserving their culture.
Can you imagine what King Leonidas would have to say about the "dad bod"? He would pick that weak little beta male up by his skull with one hand like an NBA player picks up a basketball and toss him off a mountain out of duty for his people and the protection of his mother land from weakness.
Dueperdue 11y ago
I enjoyed this post very much. Thanks!
SchweinsteigersDog 11y ago
Spartans also practiced polyamory or at least the women were polygamous.
[deleted] 11y ago
In ancient Japanese society, men were judged both on the right/wrong aspect of his actions and on his honor. For instance, a man killing another man who insulted him did something wrong but he acted like a manly man by not letting someone insult him without consequences. So he wasn't put to death. He was in fact celebrated and the blame fell on the man who insulted him who was believed to be an idiot for insulting a samuraï.
[deleted] 11y ago
so no sex before 30? I like my times now much more :)
[deleted] 11y ago
Too bad Spartan society was feminist.
[deleted] 11y ago
He was 60 years old when he died at the Battle of Thermopylae. 60 Fucking years old and he was still whooping ass and leading battles.
Also, I suggest reading. Gates of Fire: An Epic Novel of the Battle of Thermopylae by Steven Pressfield if you haven't already.
Fuck the DadBod.
I'd also add in that I'd also like to send a Fuck You to the subpar standards society has set and any Man who conforms to this weaksauce, betafuck, unmasculine cookiecut mold that has been designed for every male out there.
fasterpussycatdie 11y ago
So many lessons in masculinity that book it's impossible to know where to start. Compared to men these days, Spartans may as well have been from the moon.
sardinemanR 11y ago
Amusingly enough, they also collapsed because of feminism.

http://www.123helpme.com/view.asp?id=22669
Sparta sucked for a man. Dudes posting how great it is to be a dog of the state and run through the grinder are delusional and pretty dumb.
Basically Sparta was a feminist's wet dream. Men treated like absolute shit and forced to fight so that women can chill and be comfortable, and mock the men for not wanting to die for the state. If you asked feminists today to create a government they'd probably create Sparta.
I can't think of anything more beta than a Spartan male. Oh, and "King" Leonidas was realistically probably fat and wouldn't let his kids be treated the same as the other Spartan boys. Same way war works in the US. It's not the rich elite class kids going to war, it's the schmuck lesser born ones.
[deleted] 11y ago
Despite it's lack of success as a state, you can't argue that their men weren't disciplined and rendered into hard fierce warriors. Their reputation has stood through millennia for a reason. If you're familiar with Dungeons and Dragons, they remind me of the Drow or Dark Elves.
[deleted] 11y ago
There were tons of Betas in Spartan society. They were a semi slave class called the Helots. They did all the manual/menial labor while Spartans got their Spartan on.
Fun fact: one of the initiations into manhood was for a teenage spartan to sneak up on a Helot working in the field and kill him before he could make a sound.
Now THAT is intense training.
[deleted] 11y ago
Kind of cruel and unusual, but it was a different time. Older male on young boy pedophilia was also a cultural tradition with Spartans and part of their "coming of age". Different culture, different time though. The greeks are famous for being yes-homo.
RPmatrix 11y ago
correct, which is where the old joke, "how do you separate the men from the boys in Greece? . . . With a crowbar!" comes from.
[deleted] 11y ago
Congrats on your EC status OP, you earned it.
But these muthaphukkin DadBods are making me LOL!
TBH, I think the most valuable TRP advice is one word long: lift.
These DadBods are so deep in their BP delusion, and the delusion extends to excercise. Since they are feminine, their only physical goals are to be slim and slender, like a fucking woman. So they only do cardio, which just reinforces the Dadbod AND makes it seem like they'll never get rid of it!
If these retard Dadbods picked up a fucking barbell and lifted 4 times a week for an hour each time, im quite positive their dadbods would disappear in under a month.
But they won't do that, because in order to do that they would have to confront their delusion and change their goals. In order to get rid of the dadbod, they would have to STOP trying to be slim and androgynous and START trying to be big, strong, and masculine.
But that shit will never happen. So I'm excited to be a normally-proportioned guy in a sea of dadbods in a few years.
[deleted] 11y ago
We'll look better than the normally proportioned guy. Especially since being overweight is becoming the norm. Great post.
cascadecombo 11y ago
Even 3x a week for 30 minutes if done seriously would be more than enough.
LaPiluleRouge 11y ago
<<If these retard Dadbods picked up a fucking barbell and lifted 4 times a week for an hour each time, im quite positive their dadbods would disappear in under a month.>>
They can't, their wife will tell them to take care of the kid because she did it ALL DAY!
PlanB_pedofile 11y ago
LOL, I barbell lift my kid. It's fun. "Daddy daddy, pick me up!". 1 arm lift the kid. Swing em around. do this about 20-30 times. Kid is happy. I just got a workout. all's good.
Plus being superman to your lil one is a motivator.
Just like the parable of the man who carried a baby goat up a mountain. As the goat grew, the man became stronger.

You need to make a YouTube video of this. Make it about how you've found this brand new exercise regimen that is even more effective than kettle bells. It's called BIOFIT. Instead of lifting barbells, you lift... Other people.
Beginners start out by deadlifting toddlers, and by the end they've made so much progress they can overhead-press Michael Moore
Nebulose11 11y ago
That screams back problems and joint pain forever after. And you'll get a shitty documentary about how crappy your form was and how he can do it better just from reading a book.
PlanB_pedofile 11y ago
Kid in the carrier is at 25lbs. Much like using a kettle bell. Curls, swing back and forth. Rocks the baby to sleep while building muscle.
There's a wee bit of motivation in it too knowing your physical strain is serving a purpose. Just like lifting a 50lb box for a job compared to a 50lb weight in the gym. For some reason you can do the job weight with more performance than the gym weight.
PlanB_pedofile 11y ago
dad bod here. Lifting helps. Genetics are a bitch. Those with awesome genes, you are blessed. Those with an awesome fitness routine combined with excellent diet and shit tons of sleep, Keep up the good work!
Like balding, this is one of those things that sucks but manageable. I need to give up my 20 year old eating habits and focus more on no carb, no sugar, more kratom.
However LIFTING is great! still have a gut but developed arm muscles. Transitioning into a gorilla bod. Stocky shoulders, beefy arms, still bubble tummy.
I'm not providing tingles that a six pack athletic man will have, but I do have confidence in my strength to choke a man and lift him off the ground.
Lets be real. 40 year olds. look around you. look at your co-workers. look at other men your age. What do you see? This is a real thing. A lot of it is due to you being lazy and not eating right mixed in diminishing genetics and losing testosterone.
Now would you rather be a fat slob with skinny arms like humpty dumpty that can't even curl 10 lbs? Or do you want to be like an Ape with a strong back, strong shoulders, and curl 50lbs laughably? If you can't lose the gut, at least try to gain the bulk.

IT'S 80% DIET, forget fucking box jumps,(recommended below) lift heavy and ditch the sugar and most carbs, high fat, moderate protein and low carb will do very nicely, although many other ways of eating will still work. Essentially a ''natural'' diet, no processed shit.
Being LEAN is a piece of piss, 20,30 or 40+ years old, I fucking hate that excuse about metabolism once you hit your 30's like it's inevitable. Once you learn what really makes humans fat, its incredibly easy to maintain a lean physique, no will power required.
[deleted] 11y ago
no carb, no sugar, = no sugar - ok. no carb - well, under 50g of carbs a day you are in ketosis. learn about it because it is not so simply!
btw WHAT IS kratom??
PaulAJK 11y ago
Dude, if you're fat, you need to diet. I'm in my 40s, and went from 25 or 28% fat to less than 15%. It's taken me since the start of April.
Don't balme genetics, don't blame age, metabolism or testosterone levels. You just need to eat less and carry on going to the gym.
PlanB_pedofile 11y ago
precisely. money buys complacency. Taco tuesdays at the work caffetteria vs homemade calorie restricted planned meal. Smoking and beer are also luxuries out of complacency. And it's all true. diet, calories, exercise. It's part of giving up luxury for discipline.

Youre bullshitting yourself. Im your age and now wear same jeans I wore in HS.
Ill bet you do all the excersizes you want to do..curls,.bench press etc
You dont do hiit. You dont do ..mountain climbers or box.jumps. and you haven't given up tasty food.
Yea...you look in top 1/3....thats not really cutting it is it?
[deleted] 11y ago
I've gone keto and actually added tasty food into my diet.

What do you mean cardio reinforces the dadbod?
[deleted] 11y ago
I mean exactly that.
reigorius 11y ago
Nothing. Just referring to a post on ze Internet. And besides, weight loss always happens in the kitchen. If you lift, run or do triathlons, fat loss is ultimately done in the kitchen.
Ibex3D 11y ago
I hear that. Im an athlete by any measure of the word. I run long distances, I lift heavier than most people, But I'm 280lbs. It's 10% exercise and 90% diet.
[deleted] 11y ago
That's a retarded way to think about it. Fat loss is ultimately a result of thermodynamics and HORMONAL CHANGES IN YOUR BODY (insulin, test, leptin, cortisol, etc). Fat loss does NOT happen "only in the kitchen", it happens everywhere else too.
[deleted] 11y ago
Losing weight doesn't mean anything if you have literally 0 muscle. You go from skinny fat to less fat skinny fat and you still look like shit
sardinemanR 11y ago
Better than being obese with no muscle.
If you're obese and have muscle, you'll still have it after you lose it. If you're obese and don't have muscle, at least you're no longer obese.
There is never a situation where you are better off being fat.
Also skinny fat is still fat. It's just some weird male hamster thing where a guy can't admit he's fat. If you properly lose the fat you can't be skinny fat. You would just be skinny. And frankly skinny doesn't look as bad as you are trying to claim it does, back in the 60s the average man was 160.
[deleted] 11y ago
He is referring to the image of health a beta man holds - slim, slender, and accepting of a little podge.
It's not to say cardio is bad - look at sprinters!
Cardio is easy, you can do low impact exercise for 20 minutes, pretend like you've achieved something, and look skinnyfat.
Using sprinters as the example here - the work out is hard, in the same way that lifting heavy forces you into focusing on the weight and reaching into the depths of your energy to raise that fucking bar, a sprinter has to reach down and fucking force the fastest 100m like his life depends on it.
Anyone can "sprint" 100m in ~20seconds. However, the effort required is minimal, pathetic at best. Will it have some positive effect on your body? Sure it will, on your mediocre, burnt out, pathetic, shriveled body.
rpscrote 11y ago
Yeah, sprinting is high intensity. High Intensity Interval Training is an entirely different kind of cardio that REINFORCES muscle gains from lifting while burning MORE calories for longer than steady state. It also improves performance more quickly, and you can do an entire HIIT workout in 15 minutes, no joke. Also its fucking brutal. HIIT is better than steady state cardio in every way.
RPmatrix 11y ago
once known as "wind sprints"
JP_Whoregan Vanguard 11y ago
IMHO, cardio is fucking worthless to men who are trying to shed a "dad bod"; if you are overweight/have a pot belly, the most efficient way to lose it is to change your diet in a drastically positive way. I mean, think about it; is it more efficient to eat a whole bunch of simple carb calories and then try to burn them off on a treadmill, or is it more efficient to just not eat the simple carb calories in the first place?
You can either spend your time in the gym trying to "run off" accumulated "bad" calories, or you can alter your diet and spend your gym time building muscle, which will consume calories even while you rest.
This is what is meant by "cardio reinforces the dadbod"; a guy will run 3 miles, burn off 600 kCal, then use that to justify that piece of apple pie after dinner.
[deleted] 11y ago
I agree wholeheartedly. Diet > lifting > cardio in order from most to least important.
ChadThundercockII 11y ago
Or sprint... sprinting is the answer for questions about life, death and everything.
Primemale 11y ago
Completely concur, I think cardio for someone who is NOT competing in a high intensity sport, like say boxing, is completely worthless. DIET has been proven time and time again to be MUCH more effective at burning fat than cardio (in fact endurance cardio has been shown to be highly inneffective, in general, HIIT has some reasonable results but still pales in comparison to diet change)
Lifting heavy weights is easily enough cardio. I had to do a 1.5 mile run for a qualification I'm doing a couple of days back, elite level is 9 minutes 40, I got 9 minutes 20 and I do NO direct cardio, just lift heavy ass weights and eat extremely healthily.
Nebulose11 11y ago
FTFY Fatties don't think about food in parts, it's all or nothing. Been there, done that, beat it with willpower.
You can't outrun a bad diet.
JackGoldsteinWrites 11y ago
Theoretically yes, but it's also a lot easier to do 30 mins of cardio 4x a week and eat soemthing beside tuna and celery once in awhile too.
bottom line, in vs out. thermodynamics is inescapable, and the best thing for any guy is what he can sustain. I went from 300 to 180 and I ate a chocolate bar every day in that time period which I "paid" for by doing an extra 15-20 mins of cardio (in addition to my usual training). The rest of my meals were straight up bodybuilding competition meals (chicken salad no dressing, steamed broccoli, etc etc), but I needed that one non-bodybuilding meal each day to keep it going.
rpscrote 11y ago
do HIIT instead of 30 min 4x a week. Google around. HIIT destroys steady state cardio in every measureable way.

scrantonic1ty 11y ago
I do cardio mainly to keep my heart and lungs strong. I have asthma, it's not a good idea for me to just let my lungs rot, I'd be back on the inhalers in a matter of months.
My lifting performance is also much better when I have more stamina.
[deleted] 11y ago
Lifting makes your heart and lungs strong..
edit: How would this comment get down voted? it totally fucking does. Anaerobic exercise does condition the heart and lungs, but to a lesser extent than aerobic exercise.
aguy01 11y ago
Slow state cardio doesn't do shit for lifts where you go 0 to 100 real quick.
scrantonic1ty 11y ago
I don't do slow state, I do HIIT.
Ibex3D 11y ago
I want to mention though that guys should do cardio. Most people do fuck up and eat more than they burn as a "reward" or some shit but cardio is important. Who cares if you can pick up a heavy weight but cant make it up a flight of stairs without wheezing? Lifting and diet first but cardio is good for you. It improves cardiovascular health and will make you last longer in bed. Also, just like lifting, after a while it starts to feel awesome.
[deleted] 11y ago
I agree. In my current cut I have been doing a lot of cardio. I have more energy and more agility.
Also as a prepper cardio is really important to me. After the shit hits the fan its very likely the world is going to be divided into two parts. People that can hack a 20 mile walk in a day, and dead people.

CrimsonCapn 11y ago
HIIT is the best cardio to supplement lifting. Doesn't kill your gains like moderate cardio, and conditions your body for short bursts of high exertion, such as... well... lifting.
darkvinc 11y ago
For canadians : lift and play hockey its built in HIIT
JackGoldsteinWrites 11y ago
Actually, long walks are better. The issue is that not everyone has 1-2 hours a day to walk on top of lifting, so HIIT is what is used.
The best activity to supplement lifting is more lifting.
Decent t-nation article on walking before the site went full retard into Biotest sales mode: https://www.t-nation.com/training/get-ripped-get-walking

I've been preaching cardio for sex gains for a long time. I'm glad to see someone else say it.
If you really want to maximise sexual stammina, lift and do sprinting/hiit.
Ibex3D 11y ago
I used to do cardio for an hour or so 6x a week. I was still overweight but could go for literally an hour. I stopped and now I'm lucky if I hit 15. It really is a useful tool. Also it's practical. Who cares if you can lift 400 pounds if you cant keep it up for more than a few seconds.
Shiningknight12 11y ago
Lifting is cardio though. Doing a 5x5 squat will get your heart rate up.
Ibex3D 11y ago
Yeah but you get 3 minute rests. It's a lot different when the rest period is 10 seconds(tabata intervals)
[deleted] 11y ago
Folks that lift can walk up stairs with out being winded. That's just an excuse people use to hamster away their laziness and lack of motivation.
Edit: I've been lifting for a decade and I can run\walk up and down stairs. If you lift and you can't then you're doing it way wrong and you probably lifted like a bitch.
Ibex3D 11y ago
I lift and and my numbers are by no means light but I still had trouble getting up a couple flights of stairs. I added cardio and now I can run up them.
[deleted] 11y ago
You can also do 100 push ups in a row, 25 sec of reste, then 100 sit up, 25 sec of rest and 100 squats. It will train your heart too.
Ibex3D 11y ago
Wouldn't that qualify as interval training which is cardio?
[deleted]
aguy01 11y ago
Cardio only needs to be done if you are doing a shit bro split type routine. A weak heart can't do heavy squats and deadlifts.
Ibex3D 11y ago
I can do heavy squats and deadlifts but my cardiovascular health improved miles when I added running to my work out. But hey, everyone is different. I needed the cardio, you may not.

Cardio adapts you to cardio. If you want your heart and muscles to be able to sustain a medium level of expenditure for long periods of time, then do cardio. If you want your heart to be able to pump at a higher, more powerful rate then do anaerobic whole body training that causes your heart to pump at a higher, more powerful rate. Having a powerful heart requires 0 cardio.
rpscrote 11y ago
High Intensity Intervals are the only kind of cardio that doesn't get in the way of lifting and muscle gain when done regularly. Obviously dont stop doing sports or anything like that "for teh gainz" but wasting 45 minutes on a treadmill 3x a week is ridiculously inefficient compared to HIIT.
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/high-intensity-interval-training-the-ultimate-guide.html.
The only drawbacks are 1) its actually really hard, 2) it drains CNS so you need to ensure you have sufficient recovery time from it
Like in the link above, you can actually back-to-back circuit train at high intensity and get simultaneous cardio and lifting in and it takes like 25 minutes total. But you're going for the entire 25 minutes. It takes about a month of work outs like that to do the whole circuit for 20-25 minutes to build your work capacity. You will sweat like a motherfucker.
Ibex3D 11y ago
I've done a few different HIIT workouts. I actually found they hurt my gains longer than endurance cardio. Maybe i's because I was using high resistance but I'm too sore the day after HIIT to squat.
rpscrote 11y ago
Yeah, I suspect I know why you ran into this. You have to program HIIT as if it were a lifting day, not simultaneous like you do with steady state cardio. Give yourself recovery time and recovery calories as if it were a lifting day.
for example: Lift MWF, Cardio Tue Thur Sun, for a steady state + lifting regime.
With HIIT you have to program it in. For example: Lift - M, HIIT - W, lift -F, lift - sat or sun.
You can benefit from as little as 1 HIIT session a week.
Either that or take my original suggestion above which is circuit train in your lifting day turning your lift day into simultaneous HIIT. This is fuckin hard. It takes at least a month or two of doing it and feeling shit miserable before you build enough work volume to pull it off. I personally dont do this any more because it made me not want to go to the gym and I stopped looking forward to it. YMMV
QQ_L2P 11y ago
While there is such a thing as overtraining, when I was in that situation I simply lowered the weight I was squatting. When I work with tired muscles I assume it's like working at a lower fitness level.
So after a while, you get used to lifting at that tiredness level. You'll never be as strong as if you went in fresh, but if you're trying to burn calories completing the exercise is far more important than exercising less frequently but while "fresh". Obviously eat the necessary fats/proteins/carbs to make sure you have the calories to build muscle instead of seeing no improvements because you're training harder than your calorie intake allows for.
Ibex3D 11y ago
Yeah, i'm struggling with that. Mostly because exercise is the only thing I like anymore. Idk if I'm depressed or have a hormonal issue but lifting and running are all I like to do. It's hard to maintain a good diet when I'm training like an actual athlete.
cascadecombo 11y ago
Cardio can be many many things.
My cardio is sparring. Just last night 9 rounds straight of sparring. 3 min rounds 30 second breaks between. I would like to see anyone here try to do a third of that and claim they aren't tired.
mryddlin 11y ago
That's impressive, boxing or martial arts?
cascadecombo 11y ago
boxing is a martial art.
But anyway. It varies on the day, last night was no-gi submission grappling.
Other days it's jujitsu with a gi, and other days it's different styles of kickboxing.
Just_keep_working 11y ago
Boxing is a sport, martial arts aren't about scoring points.
cascadecombo 11y ago
So then TKD, Karate, Judo and wrestling as all only sports.
Logic dude, you need to use it.
mryddlin 11y ago
So jujitsu and kick boxing.
For the record, all fighting styles are material arts but.you fully know that in NA when some says 'martial arts' they are referring to what asian fighting style, not boxing.
cascadecombo 11y ago
That's fine. I'm going to say martial arts for anything that is. Boxing, wrestling, capoiera, bjj there are plenty of martial arts that aren't from asia.
Ibex3D 11y ago
I've done nine rounds, I've done conditioning for muay thai, I've done tabata goblet squats, I've done HIIT battle ropes, and I'm currently training for a 5k. They are all stressful in their own ways and absolutely taxing on your body and mind. People here obsess to much with lifting. It is my primary work out but it's not the be all end all of exercise. Also yoga is great. Im going to start that soon.
cascadecombo 11y ago
5k? I assume you mean something other than a 5 kilometer run unless you're trying to break speed records.
Yoga is rather good for your body.
Ibex3D 11y ago
Nope, a 5 kilometer run. I'm a 280 pound powerlifter. 5 kilometers of non-stop running is quite the feat for me. Then my next goal is an actual marathon. I'm really fucking good at high intensity for short periods of time but my endurance is shit.
cascadecombo 11y ago
Ahhhh gotcha. Good luck with your training there. I really dislike distance running, but it's something I've been able to do even when I was overweight, I found toe running to be much easier on the knees than the heel strike method. It kills the calves for the first few weeks tho.
meet_me_at_high_noon 11y ago
This isnt accurate. The trick with cardio and losing weight is really simple. I'm a runner and I've lost 25 pds in three months. You adjust the sort of carbs you eat. In order to be an effective runner you have to eat carbs so you arent necessarily wrong--plenty of people say they need carbs as a runner so they pig out. But for me, I eat a ton of bananas, whole wheat bread, no juice or soda, etc. Theres a proper way to do cardio. I've seen tons of people lose the weight. You have to do it right. I'm in the best shape of my life and I'm a father, got a six pack, the whole nine.
An exercise regimen should always be whatever works best for your body. Running keeps me healthy and looking good and young. Runners who arent doing that are doing it wrong but that doesnt mean cardio doesnt work.
sardinemanR 11y ago
Yeah, personally I absolutely despise running, but the health benefits are absolutely undeniable.
You can fake the look. I used to just lift and did sprinting and by all accounts looked great.
But running actually improves your cardiovascular health on top of that, and it also creates a more lean, functional body that actually does look better than the pumped up gym body that a lot of the "bros" go for.
I really don't think I can put into words how much I hate running though. People think I am just joking or whatever, but I really, really, really hate it. The only thing I hate more than running is not being fit. I hate running so much that I randomly just take weeks off from it, when I just can't handle another run because I hate it so much. I really don't think there is anyone that hates running more than I do.
meet_me_at_high_noon 11y ago
Hey man I get it. You arent the first person to say that to me. It takes a sick mind like mine to enjoy it. But you are right cardio can balance lifting and make it look natural
Di-onysos 11y ago
Read this. It's aimed at women but all applies to men too to some degree
http://www.functionalps.com/blog/2014/03/28/women-running-into-trouble/
Key point
"Think about it this way: the body is a responsive, adaptive machine evolved for survival. If running on a regular basis, the body senses excessive energy expenditure and adjusts to compensate. Remember, no matter what dreamy nonsense we invent about how we hope the body works, its endgame is always survival. Start wasting energy running and the body reacts by slowing the metabolism to conserve energy. Decreasing energy output is biologically savvy for the body: survive longer while doing this stressful, useless activity — as the body views it. Decreasing T3 production, increases efficiency and adjusts metabolism to preserves energy quickly.
Nothing exemplifies this increasing efficiency better than how the body starts burning fuel. Training at a consistently plus-65 percent heart rate adapts the body to save as much body fat as possible. That’s right, after regular training, fat cells stop releasing fat during moderate-intensity activities like they once did.32-33 Energy from body fat stores decreases by a whopping 30 percent. 34-35 To this end, the body even sets into motion a series of reactions that make it difficult for muscle to burn fat at all.36-41 Instead of burning body fat, the body is taking extraordinary measures to hold on to it. Still believe cardio is the fast track to fat loss?"
High intensity heavy weights on the other hand is what makes you lean and muscular because it doesn't slow your metabolism down while making your muscles insulin-sensitive, which means they will vacuum up the energy you put inside your body(food). You want your body to burn as much energy as possible, and you want as big % of energy as possible to go to muscles. Doing cardio only does the opposite.
That said, moderate amounts of cardio is excellent for hearth health and can improve recovery from weightlifting.
RPmatrix 11y ago
Although I basicallyknew this, I didn't understand it this clearly until your post
that's quality information you've provided here bro, thanks.
[deleted] 11y ago
While its true that running serious distance does raise corisol (stress/fat storing hormone) you need to be running hella long and pretty fast. Once you exert your CV system enough past the point of normalcy it assumes you are being hounded for your life and goes into emergency mode.
Most cardio will never get there though. The cortisol fat hoarding stuff doesn't kick in for a while.
Someone like me who does like a nice and easy hour long 5-6 mile cardio isn't going to hit that life/death threshold the body has.
Also IF is a good way to prevent this if you are training for a marathon or something.
meet_me_at_high_noon 11y ago
Its about knowing what you can excel at. Ive worked my way up to a 25 minute 4 mile. I can do 10 miles in just over an hour. At those levels the transformation to your body is undeniable. You wont gain muscle there's no doubt about that but you will get lean and strong.
rpscrote 11y ago
Dieting increases cortisol dramatically, then when you add cardio you multiply the issue
The_Man11 11y ago
I've never seen a fat cross country runner.
Di-onysos 11y ago
I've never seen a muscular cross country runner
Any way the point here is not running->fat, it's running->undesirable hormonal changes.
And that said, again I'm not saying don't run, I'm saying lift weights first, run second.
Actually I'm not saying even that, you can do whatever you want. Instead I will say that if you want a masculine physique, lift weights more than you run.
Primemale 11y ago
It's funny how many guy's on here still think you have to do cardio to be in great, lean, muscular shape, It is COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY in order to be in good shape, again I concur, I'm not saying don't do it just that a lot of guys are unknowingly making themselves into skinny fat low testosterone guys with no muscle by doing absurd amounts of long distance cardio. If you want to do some cardio either do some HIIT (which feels great-afterwards) or switch up your weight routine, such as less rest time, supersetting, particular programs such as EDT, german volume training, whatever, although I don't even think this is necessary for a good level of cardio, just lift heavy.

I want her to take care of the kids, which she does very well. That's it. Oh, and stop trying to make me fat. Two things.

I hate this whole fucking anti-health culture. I was a fat kid. like really fat. When I was 16 I weighed almost 400 pounds. I drastically dieted and dropped to around 300. I'm currently 280(Lots of muscle though) and I try to diet. It's not as easy as it used to be. When I was a whale I could just walk for an hour and eat a little less and I'd lose weight. Now I need to strictly diet and nobody fucking supports that. They ride my ass. Try to get me to drink and to eat fast food. People should want to join me in eating healthy not mock me for it. Oh and I fucking can't stand it when people tell me I'm not fat. I get legitimately pissed when people say that. I am fat. The people around me are fat. You are not helping anybody by lying. This whole fucking culture breeds complacency and obesity. It sickens me.

Every time I eat a plain oatmeal I just remind myself that thousands of people who are much-much better than me, do or at least used to do the exact thing.
It's not like they have to celebrate my every successful oatmeal breakfast, am I a 2 years old child? Congratulations little boy, today we've eaten some real world food!
"This cereal you eat is so insipid, how you do even stuff it down?"
"I have to."
RPmatrix 11y ago
hey bro, that's great, keep it up!
I'm more than happy to do both of these things, whilst you are still 'fat', from the sounds of things IF you keep up the quality diet and exercise, there will come a day when you may no longer be so
That said, I have an employee who's 21, 6'1" and ~95kgs (215lbs ~20%bf) who has a fraternal twin brother
This guy, I'll call him Ed, says when he was FAT all his life whilst his brother was skinny and had a six pack, AND they ate exactly the same amounts .. until he left school and began working,
Then, very suddenly he hit 17 and he says he literally grew 13 inches in 4 months, from 5' even to 6'1"!! He's only 21 but I can see he'll be "trim taut and terrific" by within a year, easy, the waay he's currently going.
Great guy too, a HG 9+ who doesn't really know it (coz he was a FAT kid) OR how to make the most of it, but we're working on him!

34 years of life experience has shown me that men are far, far more likely to stay with a wife who gets fat, than it is for a woman to stay with a husband who gets fat. I see it everywhere; the gym, the supermarket, the mall, you name it. I constantly see in-shape men with wives who have bigger waists than they do, but rarely ever a fit woman with a fat guy.
The top reason for this, of course, is female hypergamy, which all sidebar-learned Red Pillers are aware of. Not to mention, beta men are generally less likely to throw away any source of pussy, no matter how fat, lest they fear they will be able to replace it with anything above Rosy Palm and her five sisters.
The second is that, in much the same way a woman can be Alpha Widowed by a man who gives her sex god levels of sex, a man can be "Mother Widowed" with the woman who gives him his children; i.e., he will forgive her sloven degradation of looks and gaining of weight, for no other reason than she is the mother of his children. He will even take dick pills to fuck her if she gets so damn obese his dick stops working for her.

Its tough to leave your kids. I know I'd be seeing mine every other weekend if i never found TRP.
|men are far, far more likely to stay with a wife who gets fat, than it is for a woman to stay with a husband who gets fat
Hypergamy is why she leaves. Loyalty is why men hang in there. Women have zero sense of loyalty.
Doesn't bother me anymore. It just is that way

They can still stay with you while they get plowed by Chad on the side.

and get plowed by Chad from behind. and get plowed by Chad on her back.

I see that every day at work and it breaks my heart. I've seen shredded guys with big ass fupa bitches too. And I just can't get it out of my head, these guys could pull 8-9's alone on just looks.
I guess it comes down to internal conflict within that person. Bitches get fat because they hate themselves, and guys marry them because of scarcity mentality/betahood.
PlanB_pedofile 11y ago
there's probably a correlation of the size of the ring and the weight a woman gains after marriage.
These wives to shredded guys were probably 8's-9's back in their youth but a woman's wall hits harder and faster than a man's.
This is why men these days should never marry anyone = to their own age. Go 10 or more years younger!

lol i love that
I love how i can hear the condescending voice as i read this. Honestly the tone in which this post was written actually added to the enjoyment. Thanks OP have an upvote for a good post and funny tone. U da man.

It just means one thing : man has children, wife gets fat, wife manipulate man into getting fat too, so that she can afford to stay fat.

When I think of DadBod, I'd rather think of the one on the right. That's the kind of bod that will get a grown man's kids' teachers wet during parent-teach conferences, the one that will get his grown daughters' friends pining for some older chiseled meat.
MattyAnon Admin 11y ago
Yes - because hypergamy and marriage. Marriage and divorce is highly profitable for women. They actually financially benefit from divorce. Of course they initiate it. They also don't have to do much to date, whereas men have to actively pursue women and usually pay too.
Women get to divorce, profit, and then just say yes to some of their suitors. (Although in most cases they are living out a fantasy where they ignore the reality of 20 years and 2000 donuts).
Gaining 4 lbs is nothing on a man. I vary that much in an average month. It's not the reason for the divorce.
However agreed on everything you say about the dadbod and women supporting it - it's just more betaisation along with the "looks don't matter" lie.

I can "lose" 10lbs of 'weight' (basically fluids) in a big night out (pulling an all nighter) but I'll put it back on within 2 days

Though you're right, a recent study revealed that becoming a dad does lead to higher body fat index. I don't think its so much as being a dad but being married. I've never been married but I've dated a single mom for close to 4 years and experienced all the factors that lead to a decline in health. I'm a 10k runner and although I still trained hard for my races, I noticed elevated blood pressure when I checked myself at those free machines they have at pharmacies. Additionally, your money has to cover more people and it leaves very little if anything to give to yourself and less time with your parents and or friends. There are just more worries that come along as being a parent, so as TRP preaches "dont get married". I know the counter argument will be to work on yourself and Im sure many TRP parents here are pulling it off well; but the truth is, is that parents worry about their kids and if that worry isn't there, its only logical your health would improve/be better.
here is the study btw: http://www.northwestern.edu/newscenter/stories/2015/07/fatherhood-makes-men-fat.html
Edit: study also shows that those men who are not fathers actually lost weight with time.

You should do a FR on dating a single mom.

I can appreciate that you are coming from a good place but you are concern trolling.
Type Dadbod into your search field and its all over reddit
[deleted] 11y ago
I'm quite "dad bod" aka not fit. I'm not going to hamster it I'm just lazy and I get laid plenty without being in super great shape so I don't really see a point in keeping up the gym. I keep my dietary habits clean enough to keep myself at a stable weight.
Should I go to the gym for my own well being, yes I should, will I? .... Eh maybe next week
[deleted] 11y ago
TRP isnt here to tell you what to do.
Its here to show you the truth so you can make your own decisions

Lift lift lift. if you have a dad bod, get a gorilla bod. Trust me, nothing is more awesome than being able to deadlift the rear bumper of a mini cooper.
mrmeyhemn 11y ago
im lifting again so that i feel better. i always felt great when i was younger and working out 3-4 hours a day. plus itd be great to get swolested at the bar again, convince some slut to follow me to the dumpster for a pump and dump, and toss her into the dumpster when i finish (condom hanging out of her and all).
disregard women obtain currency, oh yeah, and lift.
[deleted] 11y ago
Its almost enough to inspire me. I go through stages of wanting to go but then my lazy-ness takes over or I bag some hot nurse or something and all those plans go out the window.
I guess It would be cool to be really ripped and go from "its easy to find a girl when I want" to "women actively seek me out" which I know I can get too if I put in the effort to go to the gym reliably.
PlanB_pedofile 11y ago
It's life choices. We all make choices. creatures of comfort, that kind of thing.
Physical labor helps. Push mow instead of using the rider. Use an axe instead of a chainsaw on some logs. Take stairs instead of elevator. Even if it's 6 stories, that one time climbing all those steps is better than nothing.
Backpack and hiking is good too. Fill a backpack with about 2-4 liters of water. that's 8lbs on your back and hike 2 miles through the woods and trails. Hardcore would be carrying overnight gear.
Becoming ripped like a greek god unfortunately takes a rigorous diet and workout routine and a shit tons of discipline. Admire those who pull it off. they worked hard at it! In your day to day activities you can get some form of fitness in through manual labor.

Thanks for the tips, I live in Arizona and have an active lifestyle of camping, hiking, swimming etc. Of course I also go out to eat and nightlife and brunch a lot, that's just sort of the culture in Phoenix I guess.
luckily the active part helps keep me from being a fat-ass!
