I think the problem here is two prong 1) They are misled on what men find desirable in a woman because they think it's the same as what they find desirable in a man and 2) a simple understanding of opportunity cost. What women and men find attractive in the other gender are entirely different. Finally, everyone can do their own thing and live their life how they choose but usually there are opportunity costs associated with decisions. First of all, this fetishization of a college degree. My personal trainer has a college degree, and I don't. I have a career in technology and make enough to afford a personal trainer, and she doesn't. The thing with a lot of these more intelligent women you'll find around college campuses and major cities is they're probably lacking in some area that's crucial for LTR compatibility. For instance, I notice that a lot of women get "independence" mixed up with "expressing admiration" as if expressing admiration is some form of submitting to "his control" or whatever.

These forms of admiration may be things like actually cooking a meal for your partner (which men should do too in my opinion), cleaning, giving BJs and great sex regularly, rather spending an evening with him going out to a nice restaurant for dinner rather than having a girls night out and partying.. etc.

When things like this are missing from the picture under the idea of "independence", there's literally no point in being in a relationship because commitment = taking things forward. That entire article can be summed up by stating:

1) Some women don't understand what factors accounts for their SMV.

2) All women drastically over-estimate their SMV.

We're all familiar with the 20:80 rule and how women are scientifically proven to be incapable of judging/identifying what average SMV is. Women already drastically over estimate their own SMV due to being able to casually date upwards in the SMP. Then they mistakenly think that things like university degrees or successful careers add to their SMV, when in fact they change very little with how a man perceives her worth.

It's not that there are "no good men" around, it's that these women are even more entitled than the average uneducated woman and are trying to date 3-4 rungs above their own SMV. These are 5s/6s thinking that they can score a complete package 9/10 guy just because they have a degree (in something worthless like women's studies I'm sure). Due to their own rationalization, they place far too little emphasis on factors that drastically effect their SMV (ie good looks, in-shape body, age) because they mistakenly think unimportant variables (such as career, education, and achievements/accolades) make up for or take priority over them. Which may be true for men's SMV depending on the perspective of the woman he's trying to game, but it's never true for women's SMV from the perspective of a man.

Notice how I didn't list intelligence as a variable that effects SMV for women. Intelligence can certainly effect a woman's SMV, but status and achievements do not, and also intelligence is not always required or the most important aspect. While it's always nice to have a woman to be near your intelligence level so you can connect and have a decent conversation, it's not an absolute requirement. I'm still going to plow a HB9/10 if she's legally retarded and I'm not going to commit to a girl just because she's smart.
