Isn't quakenet for "gaming" channels only though? I mean I guess there is talk in the channel about "game" constantly, but really, doesn't this violate quakenets TOS or am I being a stupid cunt?

Did you guys get harassed by the Snoonet staff? We did when we established our own IRC chat channel less than 8 days ago, the staff closed our channel.

BTW, mibbit.com is a nice alternative for kiwiiirc.com, the latter went down for a few hours about 5 days ago so it's good to have links to two web chat clients.

We're using Rizon and an IRC admin actually randomly joined our channel and gave us a few tips and a bit of help, it's beena while since I last moderated an IRC channel.

It's an IRC channel dedicated to a racist Reddit community which I moderate, which I assume is the reason it was shut down. I was wondering if #theredpill was shut down because of similar reasons (goes against the reddit herd and causing a lot of tears on the site), although I know #theredpill has been on snoonet for a longer time. It's part of the slippery slope in those cases.

EDIT: one of the staffers, bipolarbear0 said he didn't want to have my community on the #snoonet network.

Yes, we don't want racist communities. #theredpill was not shut down at all, they left on their own accord. I don't know why, but apparently they didn't like if opers hang out in their channel.

We have no intentions of spying, but especially for a channel like #theredpill it's quite handy to have first hand logs if drama arises. We were also there on the condition to leave at any time they decide to kick us out (which they did right before they left, I was banned from the channel about a day before they did leave).

You're messaging a public IRC channel, if you want to write privately use a protocol that is client to client and end to end encrypted.

I would've left if they told me to, but apparently they preferred to ban. That's their own thing, I don't mind. Moving their channel was their own decision and was not forced by Snoonet administration.

Good call! It's like the government's been saying for YEARS: the internet has to be censored so people don't get together and discuss radical ideas that challenge the viewpoints of others. As long as the exchange of information is sanitized and nobody is offended, EVER, only THEN can we allow a semi-open discourse between individuals. After heavy screening, of course.

I mean, could you just IMAGINE the chaos if racists, Jews, Muslims, NRA advocates, liberals, gays, left-wingers, hipsters and Mormons were all allowed to give their points of view on one place? It would be like arma-freaking-geddon! We would just have to pull the plug on the internet so all these weirdos can crawl back into the dark slimy corners they crawled out of!

Sorry I'm just very passionate about keeping a barrier between myself and undesirables and i'm glad Snoonet feels the same. I can rest easier knowing you guys are looking out for our best interests.

This comment is stupid on a variety of levels. Mostly because you put a hate group (racists) into a list with groups that are not solely dedicating themselves to hate. In fact, most people in the groups you listed are very nice people. The sarcasm doesn't work if the buildup is stupid.
