Hi guys,

Here is the link for Part I: https://www.forums.red/p/theredpill/324310/freedom_of_speech_is_getting_banned_online_part_i

There is a Manosphere case that the Ofcom (UK government) is trying to present as a reason for attacking free speech on ALL online platforms, against ALL communities. They are equivocating between "incels" and the rest of the Manosphere using a false adjacency fallacy.

For context, there are incidences of VERY BAD material and suicide encouragement in "incel" self-identified networks, enough to generate data and statistics to make public statements on them. "Master" (his username on his forums) currently runs a network of websites that includes a suicide forum and Looksmax.Org, which has a pipeline of young people discovering the "black pill" on Tiktok and then registering on the site to rate each others looks. Instead of shutting them down, they invented "duty of care" law to shut down online free speech.

Understandably, you want the term "incel" to be properly defined and then far away from your non-mainstream self-improvement and growth communities.

To properly define "incel" there are two senses of the word:

  • Someone who cannot have sexual intercourse (literal meaning, an involuntary celibate)
  • Someone who defines it as a state of being (the term), then uses it and applies it to social commentary, explaining how things are using the term (virtually all incel communities in practice)

"Being "incel" is a state of being, not an identity." — Incels.is, Introduction

If this perspective and analysis of social, historical and political power structures through the use of the word "incel" and "involuntary celibates" feels a little like the Frankfurt School, then you are right. It IS a critical theory, just not accepted by the mainstream as one.

This word was not invented by men to refer to themselves and has nothing to do with male self-improvement communities or men's rights.

If you have read this far, thank you for your time.
