While reading through /r/PurplePillDebate (because apparently i'm an intellectual masochist) I stumbled upon this fantastic quote from one /u/Abra_K_Daniel, regarding that common trope among women and Blue pilled folk that "Getting laid isn't all that hard";
The answers may be simple, but the task itself hard. Saying "Getting laid isn't all that hard" is like saying losing weight isn't all that hard.
TRP is not one weird trick to get you laid. Its the diet and exercise plan to get you fit and running a marathon.
To me, this is a prime example of why we here at /r/theredpill value the advice of men over women in regards to attracting women. The concepts of attraction (at the basic level) aren't all that hard, consisting broadly of A) Be confident and B) Be high value. The difficulty is in practice. Being attractive and confident enough to attract women is something that takes more than a little hard work and commitment. It takes calibration. In order for the advice to be useful, it needs to come from someone with field experience, someone who has tried to be attractive to women, and succeeded. Since the majority of women have never done this, their advice on attraction is at best roughly as useful as a skinny girl giving out weight loss advice like "Just go vegan". It may work eventually, but it's not proper nor safe dietary advice.

besides the hamstering and the inability to see their raw desires, i think a big part of women is they want someone who is already at the top of his success.
they want you to have money, muscles, confidence but dont want to see how hard it was for you to get it. they dont want to see a man struggling to win, they want a man that already is a winner.
men, and particularly trp, dive beyond that and try to teach each other how to be a winner, or atleast how women can perceive you as a winner. womens advice is "just be a winner".
[deleted] 12y ago
You're hitting on the Patrice O'Neal saying "Women don't want to win, they want a winner."
Keep up the input, solid stuff.
t21spectre 12y ago
If you want to be a General's wife, you have to marry a Lieutenant. Most women don't understand this.
kick6 12y ago
Absolutely. Men are supposed to "just get it." Women want to play the game, but they certainly don't want to have to know the rules let alone explain them to a man.
IIHotelYorba 12y ago
This hits the nail on the head. How am I supposed to take advice from a woman who is shaken by the process of actually implementing the advice she gives?
ThePragmatist42 12y ago
An important thing to digest is that "winner" is relative to the woman in question. If you succeed in life with all the desirable traits you are able to showcase it doesn't mean you are a winner in all women's eyes. There is a class hierarchy in place. Women marry up. Just how far up depends on her life and yours.
In short, go after women in your league of winning. If you want to play in a different class you'll have to drastically change your life and goals.

I'm older and married and still going down TRP path but I'd like to share two tips with you on what I am doing to make myself feel more confident:

Making a list now. It's very stimulating and kind of challenging in a fun way! Thanks for the suggestion

I am a Heterosexual woman, AMA!
That was exhausting to read.

Even more exhausting to participate in.

Girl: "Hey guys, I'm a girl! Ask me anything!"
Guy: "How specifically can a guy be successful with women?"
Girl: "You can't make me answer anything! I'm not your slave! I already answered your question!"
Girls like this make me inclined to believe that you can't ask them for advice on anything.
[deleted] 12y ago
In the same way a woman will go on about the sort of man she likes but forget the "... who I find attractive" bit at the end, the woman there was "ask me anything" and omitted the "... and I'll answer if it suits me".

Women are a shitty source of advice for anything related to being a man. Simply due to the fact that they have no experience in it. How can someone with zero experience offer advice? Solipsism at its core. I wouldn't go to r/music and ask how to rebuild an engine.
Just today on r/Everymanshouldknow I saw a post of a shitty adjustable wrench type gimmick that is worse in every way than a regular box wrench. It is in no way something that every man should know. And guess what, after people commented that the tool was a piece of shit, OP came out and said "I'm a girl, I don't do much repair work". This girl thought she had the authority to tell men what they should know, even though she had zero experience in the topic she was posing about.

Do you ask a deer how to hunt better? No, you ask a better hunter.

I'm reading the thread now. They seem to consistently miss the point when the fish analogy is used. That's why I recommended earlier using the luxury car salesman analogy instead.

The main thing is that women generally don't know what they want. They can recognise an attractive man (obviously), but they don't understand what this consists of. Add political correctness to that, and you get bullshit like "be yourself".
noblepaladin 12y ago
When being honest, women can often explain what they want, but can't explain how that guy got there because they never went through that process. It's like being able to identify the Olympic champion because he beat all his competitors and he is receiving his gold medal on the podium. But how did he get there. What is his training routine? What is his diet?
I know when a girl has nice makeup and nice hair. I'm a guy, I know what guys like. But, don't ask me for advice on makeup, hair products, or how to walk in heels. When women say stuff like "be confident", that literally is the best they can do to explain it. I don't blame them, because they have no clue how the confident guy ended up that way. But to a beta, it's like trying to telling him "grow six pack abs" or "become a millionaire".
redpillbanana 12y ago
Awesome quote. TRP and lifting have a lot in common - you need to slowly build your Red Pill muscles over time.

The post on don't explain the how the magic trick works because it pisses most people off hints at the problem. Ask most members of an audience how a magic trick is done and they will come up with all sorts of silly theories.

for the same reason that fish can't tell a fisherman how to catch them.

tbf my sister is ruthlessly honest about this
She says she wants the man to be tall, have a good job and have a fun and confident personality rather than being emotional or too nice, because she says it makes her feel bad and nervous around people like that in case she'll upset them. She even said she'll be controlling and demanding, but that self-awareness though

W-Z-R 12y ago
I love my sister of course, the point is women will be women, the best you can hope for is self-awareness rather than this "Southern Belle" (borrring) everyone here seems to be searching for.

Women can't give advice on dating because they don't know what they want. They say one thing but their behavior speaks volumes.
Ask a woman what they want, they will tell you they want a sweet, sensitive man. A caring man who listens. Who reads them poetry and buys them flowers. Then they go to bed with an asshole with torn jeans, nose ring and a tattoo on their face. And these women gag on their own contradictions. LOL
ThirdLegGuy 12y ago
Nice analogy, good read
[deleted] 12y ago
I wouldn't say this is strictly true. A woman in touch with herself and her her own bullshit can give you a perspective to look into - which, given the right tools, you can process into advice to follow.
Cyralea 12y ago
Just like asking a new luxury car owner how to sell luxury cars can give you insights.
Or you could, you know, ask a luxury car salesman instead.

Tway_the_Parley 12y ago
Um, yes. RPW is doing pretty well last I looked.
gg_s 12y ago
RPW is sexual strategy for women. There isn't much advice a man can distill from that community unless he is looking to enrich his femininity.
Tway_the_Parley 12y ago
And that strategy centers around getting men to be in charge of the relationship. Which is in line with what TRP teaches.
mrust 12y ago
Words like easy and dull and nice are poor choices because they are often used where a more discriminating concept is necessary. Debates will often start because people can't agree on the meaning of a word or if they are intellectually dishonest, they will switch up the meanings mid-argument.
You have a spectrum from simple to complicated, and orthogonally, another spectrum from effortless to work-intensive, and finally another spectrum from easy to difficult based on psychological barriers which gets conflated with the others.
Approaching a woman is simple, effortless and for some people very difficult.
Losing weight can be simple (eat less) or complicated (count calories and macro nutrients) and work intensive and easy or difficult depending on the person.
tl;dr: be discriminating in your women and in your words

It's like asking a trout for fishing advice.

RAWR I hate vegans. That aside women dont want to spill the beans about how to manipulate them. RAWR Im eating meat salmon RAWR. Ok im done....
RAWR...
josuwa 12y ago
Can anyone tell me what's wrong with her statement? TRP is indeed something to make you more 'sensible' to bullshit women and nice women. So I feel her statement is kind of... true?
GaiusScaevolus 12y ago
The statement of "Just go vegan"?
Veganism makes you weak and malnourished. It also bans eating steak, or bacon.
josuwa 12y ago
Excuse me, I was commenting on the example you cited. That is indeed, stupid.
