Easy to agree on this. Wish I had known and internalized this years ago. There was barely any difference in girls reactions regardless if I picked them up with my Toyota Corolla of 1999 vs my Audi A7 of 2011. The only difference was that A7 was nice to drive and I loved the acceleration and 4 wheel drive on winter but it wasn't an economical choice and in the end not worth the money. Where A7 cost around 10 000 euros a year (maintenance, insurance, taxes, value drop - excluding gas), the Toyota Corolla cost around 400 euros a year.

Freedom is one of the best things a man can buy, but many men don't buy it, and we can see the results right now, when many guys are looking at their empty bank accounts and wishing we hadn't spent the stupid money we did. Personally my #1 thing is that I wish I hadn't gotten married, but I did, cause I was an idiot, and I have paid.
The value of money and the misuse of it are major themes today. Men who can control their money, instead of letting their drives control them, will better succeed. If it flies, floats, or fucks, it's more than you should spend.

I dont think you were an idiot, the problem is that our society is inherently evil and gaslights anyone who isnt born rich into falling for traps that the human mind desires for a healthy and productive existence. It is akin to those scientists in a lab who design doritos or snickers to be addictive by abusing the reward centers of the brain except in this case its social engineers/psychologists being employed by bankers/elites to engineer a structure that entraps poor people for trying to survive and advance their lives by making them fall into unavoidable traps.
The key thing to take away from it is that you made an error which you have corrected. Now my advice is save your anger for the people who profit off your misery and aim to steal your money by using every sneaky trick in the book.
If you want any motivation, Nikola Tesla, I would argue was the smartest human being ever and basically designed future tech which has been supressed by big business and government alike. ie he devolped infinite energy technology which big business could never charge for. Tesla had a gambling problem and would often rack up bills at hotels and then take off without paying them. My point is that even the smartest human beings have flaws due to existing in this artificial society that abuses us for being human. The best thing to do is realize your flaws and try to create a structure around them that either shields them from causing you harm or turn them into a weapon. Ie Most of the unenlightened masses would think being "weird" is a bad thing and prefer conformity. I see being weird as being someone who is full of imagination, invention, and isnt afraid. Most of the blue pilled normies are a bunch of fucking losers who have no initiative in life beyond watching the news, watching mainstream entertainment going to school and thinking: "Thats how you stay informed, thats how you stay cool and cultured, thats how you stay educated." These people are wrong on all fronts of how to live life and they will pay for their laziness and compliance. Dont ever submit to the judgement of cowards and fools who will throw you under the bus as soon as you are no longer useful to them. Dont ever bend yourself to gain favour with these mongrels.

Infinite energy breaks the laws of thermodynamics. It isn't real, and is the fantasy of conspiracy theorists and people who really want to feel smart, but are minimally informed, everywhere. Tesla is like a poster child to these people. Some tortured genius who was beset upon "by the system" and thus snubbed by society. Yes, he was inventive, and had some good ideas. He was, however, nowhere near the intellectual giant that Einstein was. We are still proving the accuracy of relativistic physics with experiments in modern times.
"I'm not sharing my sources" or "look it up" = I have no verifiable information to back up my claim, and am parroting something I watched on YouTube.
Krelious 6y ago
Bro just look it up. He made it and JP Morgan said if I cant put a meter on it im not interested.
Considering your account inst that old I dont trust sharing my sources with you.
Just_Another_Wookie 6y ago
My account isn't as old as yours, but is of a sufficiently similar vintage that I hope it will meet your standards. You do realize that the energy pumped into the ionosphere by Tesla's top-secret high-power harmonic oscillator would still have to be produced somewhere, right? It's not free or infinite, by his own admission. Also, it wouldn't work. If I am wrong, please educate me. The continuation of our way of life may very well depend on your knowledge.
frutti_tutti_frutti 6y ago
What does his account not being old have to do with sharing sources? Get over yourself and get a life.
Zippy1776 6y ago
Also same-ish problem with his dealings with Edison. I'm laughing my ass off at the irony of the person you replied to literally proving the point of the post before that. They don't even see the forrest for the trees because of the "I'm right because this is the official story we've been told so you're wrong and that's that" mindset.
Here's one working model, utilizing what we now know as static electricity that is used to teach children currently.
[deleted]
Zippy1776 6y ago
So now it's gone from impossible to unreliable and inserting personal opinion. I'm not emotionally invested in the topic, it was something I found interesting before and the concept has been scientifically proven, as demonstrated. Do with it what you will, but I am going to point out that any high school graduate can also see when rationality goes out the window by moving the goal posts and that it's time to stop engaging the idiots that do such things.
notpahimar 6y ago
I don't quite understand what is happening in the video. But the text says it collects static electricity. If that is true, then it's an entirely plausible device, but you have to generate the static electricity first, so he probably has a Van de Graaf generator running in the background.
Krelious 6y ago
I'm not even going to bother looking at that because I bet you are of the tribe and trying to deceive people.Shoo Shoo JIDF. You are a chess playing pidgeon. Saying Tesla didnt discover infinite energy is the same as saying The Sun revolves around the earth and then using the testaments of 100 priests and pictures of sacred texts to force public opinion. Tesla invented a hell of a bunch of crazy things along with other scientists throughout the 20th century that range from thinks like infinite energy, orgone energy and antigravity. All of this stuff is suppressed and actively discredited by the government because if the public had this tech we wouldnt need to work, we wouldnt get sick and they wouldnt be able to control us. Anyone who rediscovers this stuff or invents "classified inventions" either have their work stolen or die under mysterious circumstances. If you want to say I dont have evidence I say to anyone else look it up for yourself and look at official government files from the FBI and CIA look up patents.
As for Zippy im not autistic enough to keep around a bunch of stickied files to win internet arguments with trolls and I dont need to. People can do their own investigative work based on what I say that is new information to them and come to their own conclusions. I mean all you have to do is look up shit like secret inventions of Tesla, Tesla FBI files, Scalar wave energy, Wilheilm Reich and Orgone energy. etc You then get a picture of how the government lies to us and then employs shills and fake skeptics to discredit credible ideas that threaten the establishment.
Dont play games with me child of Cain. I will always win for humanity as a greater whole, not for myself.
Zippy1776 6y ago
I was agreeing with you and the link was a breakdown on a modern version. You've made it clear that you're batshit insane and incapable of having a rational discussion though so you can go fuck yourself as far as I care.
Krelious 6y ago
Calling me insane is another typical tactic as well as trying to reverse your tone and play the guilt card. Typical tribal plays of the zionist. You attack and then claim to be my friend after I rationally defend myself and my arguement which you do not counter other than using adhominem personal attacks. The Canaanite cries out in pain as he trys to stab you.

Eh, it depends.
If I buy a gram of weed, it's more cost effective than buying a bottle of scotch and it'll probably last longer. But that's mostly because alcohol is expensive as shit in Australia.
skippwiggins 6y ago
I don’t think he meant weed. Was thinking more of cocaine, opiates, etc.
lastdumra 6y ago
Alcohol is a drug. But I understand your point.
WesternPine 6y ago
What about those 5 dollars beers at the bar.. I've seen people spend 100 dollars on $ 25 worth alcohol
GratificationDelayed 6y ago
At the start of quarantine i bought a $13 handle of cheap whiskey and got drunk af every night for 10 days straight (not proud but it was a good time) and shared with other people and I ended up liking the whiskey alot. By my math, if I got that level drunk at a bar for 10 days it would have cost me around $250.
nitrobyname 6y ago
“I bought a $13 handle of cheap whiskey and got drunk af every night for 10 days straight”
A bottle of whiskey lasted you 10 days?!?!?
Laughs in Irish!!!!
WesternPine 6y ago
That's exactly my point !
If I'd a shot of whiskey for every people telling me that I'm not enjoying my life because I save my money restricting my gratification expense, I'd be dead a long time ago...

morehumblethanyou 6y ago
With bars I see it as paying to get drunk in a place you can also socialize. You’re right though, people need to learn to pregame with their own cheaper stuff.
WesternPine 6y ago
You're absolutely right, don't get me wrong, I enjoy bars. And I enjoy taking 1-2 beers, socialize and call it a night.

Sheen is doing fine I bet as long he’s still a millionaire he’ll probably live longer then his dad did
VasiliyZaitzev 6y ago
Sheen, evidently, has "Tiger Blood" and "Adonis DNA". There are plenty of methheads who don't. He also has HiV. None for me, thanks.
DareyFathom 6y ago
Guess it is all relative. I'm sure he has had a lot more fun than most men ever will. He is also HIV positive and paying over a million a year in child support.
iwviw 6y ago
How much is he worth. I mean there are meds for hiv that there are no symptoms
DareyFathom 6y ago
Not as much as you would expect. He easily could have been a lot wealthier if he slightly reduced the risky drastic decisions made with his career and personal life.

[deleted] 6y ago
"At the peak of his Two And A Half Men days, Charlie was consistently the highest paid person on television, bringing home as much as $40 million every year when syndication points were included."
Made $40 million every year for Two And a Half Men and only has $10 million to his name. It's true when people say "It's not about what you earn, but what you keep."
DareyFathom 6y ago
I have a friend that does project management on federal government contracts. He makes $300k a year and is always teetering on the edge financial because of his risky decisions. And fittingly enough the company he works for is exactly the same way, whatever they earn in revenue, they spend. I'm not the most frugal person in the world, but I am constantly tly shocked at the lack of fiscal discipline.

Unfortunately we live in a time where consuming is easier than ever: from how our money works (based on debt) to how adverts work.
Adverts dramatically changed when a study showed a female centric approach (to create an emotional bond with the product) was more effective than a male centric approach (to show off the utility of the product by showing its “cool functions” ) in getting people to buy.
Our money is completely based on debt. It is no longer backed by anything. The banks can loan money they don’t have, and then charge you interest on it.
Then, you got payment plans. 5-7 years ago, the only things you could buy not upfront was a house and a car.
If you didn’t have $400-$500 in your pocket, then you weren’t buying the iPhone 4-iPhone 5. It was that simple.
Then, iPhones were added to that list where you can pay in instalments.
Now, fast fashion stores like boohoo offer this as well (pay later with klarna). Their prices are $3-10/a piece.
Even for cheap stuff, they put up payment plans.
All to encourage consumerism.

As a marine, I admit I spend ALOT on food. I work out a lot, and am really into bodybuilding. Chow hall food on base never fills me up. I’m 160, and pretty lean. But yeah food is my biggest expense.
Dravous 6y ago
it also tastes like cardboard. the temptation to go off base(or hell, even a decent place on base) is all too tempting. especially after a long day of bullshit.
mrcs84usn 6y ago
You just have to do what I did and develop a taste for bad food. Lol
Also copious amounts of condiments.
[deleted] 6y ago
[deleted]
Sickem_roy 6y ago
We can microwave stuff, but there’s no produce or fruit. At the stores on base, food comes from the chow hall or from whatever restaurant is close. You can order food though, but that’s a pain in the ass. Don’t get me wrong, chow hall food is healthy (if you so choose) just small portions. I’m ready for dinner right after lunch basically. I usually supplement the lack of calories/protein with shakes.
MakoShark93 6y ago
Bro, don't cap like that. At the stores on Base (like grocery store), the food does NOT come from the chow hall. There's a reason personnel who live off base come on base to buy food.
The chow hall is a different animal, though. It's free...and if it's government free it's usually not high quality. The food is made with ZERO love by people hating their lives lmao
redxpeace 6y ago
Wait, the military doesn't give you enough FOOD? What the fuck?
Sickem_roy 6y ago
Maybe for some people, I just spend a lot more when I could be saving because I’m always hungry.
redxpeace 6y ago
Dude that's fucked up. How comes the military doesn't let you eat what you need? I get that you're probably always working out, but don't we we want pur warriors to do that? I don't think food costs that much.
mrcs84usn 6y ago
I know the majority bases I've been to have been good with portion sizes. Though, they often have a rule that if you want a second helping, you have to wait until they are like 15 minutes before shutting down the chow hall.

In the British army we have a thing called millionaires weekend which is basically when all the young guys spunk their entire months wage on the first weekend after payday and then have to live on pot noodles for the rest of the month, the same guys usually have a brand new sports car on finance with high monthly payments and a extremely high APR%.
The craziest thing though is how the financial situation differs so much between soldiers who earn roughly the same wage, I know a few young guys with multiple mortgages on properties and a decent amount of savings and guys who are always struggling to keep their heads above debt. Typically the guys in debt usually marry one of the camp bikes and then get her knocked up so if your a young soldier reading this don’t get married the quarters aren’t worth it, don’t get a shit finance deal on a car and don’t get anyone pregnant.
VantablackPill 6y ago
Loosely related, but I had a very nice, heavily depreciated luxury car when I was in my late teens. Had an unholy amount of mileage but it looked like it had less than half the mileage it actually had.
Felt really good, until I was living on noodles because the services and insurance cost so damn much.
Learned how to service it myself. That did help, but parts were still so damn expensive.
People only started to be remotely impressed by it when I owned it for more than 6 months.
Sure, it did help get girls, but that certainly did not justify the costs to keep it running.
Blazer808 6y ago
I'm not sure if those guys are plain stupid or just have 0% impulse control...

d3g4d0 6y ago
I'm convinced the secret to happiness is being debt free. I have a mortgage and car payment but combined they're only 35% of my income each month and that's including the insurance on the car. Cook my own food, have a home gym, no dumbass Starbucks coffee everyday, etc.
Every man should learn how to manage their finances. It's a key pillar of a successful and happy life. I recently started investing the last week of February and have already learned considerably more than I knew in just 2 months time.
Men that are fixated on their clothes, what kind of car they drive, trying to impress women with expensive gifts and experiences, etc will have a much harder time building their wealth if they haven't got a start on it already.
I'm not saying don't own nice things. I'm saying don't go into debt to acquire them. The sooner more men realize this the better off they'll be.
VantablackPill 6y ago
One time I went into a little bit of debt for some Ray Ban aviators when I was in my late teenage years.
I did pay it back within 7 days, but my credit score still took a massive hit.
Learned my lesson early and from then on out only pay for stuff in full in cash, as much as possible.
Do not buy what you cannot afford.
d3g4d0 6y ago
I don't have to tell you how retarded it is to open a line of credit on a pair of sunglasses but now that you can look back on it, it's kind of funny.
Virtusvitium 6y ago
You're almost there mate. I paid off my car and house almost immediately. Now I can drink Starbucks multiple times a day like a spoiled basic white bitch and I don't feel a dent.
LowCreddit 6y ago
Thinking you can win a girls heart with things is the ultimate blue pill. If you can't fuck her in the back of a 20 year old Corolla in an Arby's parking lot then you aren't doing it right.
LaFayette4031 6y ago
One should never ever ever go into debt for consumption. What I mean is that debt should be invested, not spent. A car is one such thing, because helps you save time, to get from point A to point B. A house is definitely one of those things. Starting a company? One of the best things to do with debt.
If you blow your life's savings on a ring, you're a fucking idiot, and the DeBeers deserve your money more than you did.
ProductivityMonster 6y ago
Sure, education is an investment - get a reasonable costing in-state degree in a high-paying, in-demand field that you can tolerate and you'll do well. A primary residence is really not an investment, but a mortgage is often needed to afford a home. A car is a depreciating asset so I would really limit your debt on a car as much as possible (as long as the car is safe and mechanically sound).
MrRaspberryJamz 6y ago
Disagree about going into debt for a car. Just get something reliable and 6 or 7 years old for less than $10K. No need to spend 20K+ on something that will be worthless in 10 years.
LaFayette4031 6y ago
I didn't mean to buy a fancy car, i meant buy a functional car... As opposed to not having a car.
MrRaspberryJamz 6y ago
Completely agree. If you look hard enough, you can find good deals though. I paid less than $5K for a <10 years old (at the time) sports car, for example.
WakeAndGo 6y ago
I'm in the market for my first car, where exactly did you look to find deals?
MrRaspberryJamz 6y ago
Craigslist or Facebook marketplace is where I usually look. If you don't know much about cars though, I would recommend bringing along a friend or family member who does, as some private sellers can be sketchy.

Dave Ramsey is a joke, he gives basic advice. Dude went bankrupt after his daddy gave him money to buy property. He made his money by peddling his financial show. There are better options out there.
TheEgyptianConqueror 6y ago
Here's the thing: I 100% agree that all he gives is basic advice, even some of which is wrong (namely "never get a credit card" and "buy a house in cash"), but the vast majority of people are 100% financially illiterate, so by just giving out the very basics, he helps a lot of people that were fucking retarded with their money (cause getting a $50k car nearly all on credit with a 9% interest rate while also peddling $80k in student loans is retarded but fucking everyone seems to do it)
mrcs84usn 6y ago
He often says that he has a "PhD in D-U-M-B." He doesn't hide the fact that he's made bad decisions. That said, don't throw the baby out with the bath water. He give plenty of great advice John the Working Man to financially unfuck himself.
SPaddocksBumpstock 6y ago
Yep. I was one of them. I wisened up my last year and was able to get out with $17k in the bank. That really helped me while I transitioned back to the 1st Civ Div

I never got how all my buddies were struggling when we were on deployment with literally nothing to spend money on. Getting tax free hazard duty pay for 9 months and we get back and they can’t even fill their gas tank.
I made sure to get out with everything paid off and a safety net of finances. People just don’t realize the value of utilizing their benefits
Bdavidson22 6y ago
Upon finding this sub many months ago I decided to enlist. As a senior in high school I’ve already bought a car and will be holding onto it for a few years. My father is also going to help me with real estate investments while I’m in since the way buying properties is a lot more flexible while in the military. There’s programs that allow your service to count towards college credits, hopefully I could get out and get my masters with very little debt. Sounds like the key to happiness is freedom and college debt is the complete antithesis of that.
equal2infinity 6y ago
Get your masters and then what? Work for people you don’t respect doing a job you don’t like?
Focus on the investment part and shoot for early retirement. I’m 32, prior mil working at a major defense contractor in project management. A masters will get you about $5k extra a year unless it’s in a really high demand area. I do a lot of cool shit but at the end of the day I still work for someone else and they control my fate. I’m about 12 months away from replacing my W2 income with investment income and it’s such a great feeling.
