A surprisingly big and peaceful march went right by my shop yesterday so I stopped working to people watch.

Black people in general, and men of all races, seemed to treat it as a somber, serious, quiet event. The people making the most noise were nonblack women. There were a few leaning waaay out of cars cruising alongside the marchers, holding out bottles of water and snacks and getting exactly zero takers. Most signs had to do with Floyd or were about justice. Nonblack womens' signs often made it about themselves: "I support you 100%" There was a white woman marching topless with her sign held tightly to her boobs, as usual of the "Nudists you don't want to see naked" class.

At times I was reminded of those South American fishing videos where the boat is suddenly swarmed with flying fish jumping into the boat to overflowing. I can't remember ever seeing a crowd with so many panties ready to drop on mere eye contact that didn't involve an A-list celebrity there in the flesh.
