Dating apps may be designed to help you find your significant other, but just like the fuckboys that often frequent them, they can’t always be trusted. And even while this case may seem more like a morality issue of feeling the need to marry someone just because you slept with them, it’s pretty common for people to use these apps for casual sex. While the charges under which this man was arrested are still unclear, Tinder has time and again been accused of allowing sexual predators on its app. So even if you’re swiping right to find your Mr Right, it’s important to not only acknowledge the dangers of dating apps, but also accept that not everyone you hook up with is necessarily going to stick around for pillow talk.

Nice try, but she can just claim that and you're fucked. Like that guy. It doesn't say that he actually promised that in the text messages at all. So just like in this case, if you sleep with any woman in India and she later claims you promised to marry her (and I'm sure she can claim that even years later) you will be thrown into jail.

The last shred of me that might have wanted to visit India sometime, has just been erased by this story.

When I was a cashier, I had an Indian customer, and something seemed off about him; I couldn't place my finger on it.

After a while, I realized I had that feeling because he was jacked. He might be the only Indian gymbro I've seen in my life.

Indian here. Lived here all my life.

Of course, the arranged marriages are a shit idea when forced, but more and more of my well educated friends are choosing that route, when their families (who are educated enough not to enforce things on their children) would be ok with love marriages. Dating and sex is extremely common in college campuses and major cities. If you're a person who's earning well ( that's pretty much what matters in arranged marriages), you'll get a 8-9/10 for sure. Just hope that Rahul's dick hasn't been in her.

Caste system- oh boy that's bad. But, there's all sorts of reservations in government jobs, all premier education institutes (60%) for the 'lower' classes. So much so, that people of lower castes could get a negative score on tests and still get a seat in a good college. They have to work half as hard, and pay one tenth the fees that the "general" caste pays, for all their education. So its not that the caste system is a normalized narrative. The government works hard to ensure equal development (sometimes at a high cost of efficiency-most people high on merit fail to get good colleges if they are not an 'oppressed' caste).

Indian guys are desperate AF. Because outside of cities, dating is a huge taboo and hence they can't get any. Also, brown girls love, absolutely love white guys. Recently there was a post on how women rate 80% of guys as below average. An Indian woman (including my gf) would rate 99% of Indian guys as below average. Maybe its genetics, not taking care of your body, and all.

As a north Indian, bordering Pakistan, I resemble an Uzbek/mid eastern more than an Indian genetically, with very fair skin, light brown eyes and good build. This is because for thousands of years Muslim invasions in India happened from the North West, so North Indians tend to have Uzbek or middle eastern characteristics more than other Indians. And I'm telling you brown girls can't get enough of these North west guys, in cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, where I've spent some time. Tinder doesn't lie.

So god help you if you're a 'typical' Indian guy. They don't have much luck dating also because they're forced to get well paid degrees and spend too much time being one dimensional. Parents do not focus on holistic development.

America has a secret caste system. It's not as developed or talked about as the Indian caste system, but it's there. Yes, it's possible to move up in the American caste system but it is rare, especially large jumps. There's the cycle of poverty. Socialism for the rich. The wealthy help their friends and family and on and on. A trust fund kid will almost definitely fall into wealth and success throughout his life. Can you imagine 3 toothed, moon shine drinking Bubba Joe making it into the elite? He could start a business, become the 1 in 10,000 small business (probably worse) owners to become a millionaire, but will he make it into the American elite? I'm not saying it's impossible, but that carrot on the stick that pushes Americans is just that for 99.9% of us. It's just a carrot on a stick. For the vast, vast majority of us, the poor will end up poor, the middle class will end up middle class, and the wealthy elites will remain wealthy elites. Americans just don't talk about the secret caste system.
