Background as to why I'm asking this question: 23 year old male nursing student about to graduate at the end of this semester. Initially got my associates in Mathematics which ended up being a waste of time when I decided I no longer wanted to be an actuary. Currently living in a small town and will be relocating to Austin, TX this summer. Need a change of scenery and living there I'll be earning well over 6 figures which will give me more than enough to have a nice apartment, afford hobbies, go out to restaurants etc... Nurses in rural Georgia don't make shit in relation to the COL. Austin's ratio is actually better. I also have a TikTok and Instagram brand related to CrossFit that nets around $4,000 per month and Austin would be a great place to grow it. Where I'm at now there aren't too many gyms and I'm trying to find more people that I can work with on videos.
Now, when I was doing my research I ended up seeing this statistic that apparently the male to female ratio is highly tilted towards men in Austin due to the surge of tech companies that moved to the area over the past 5-10 years. Should this be a concern to me? I've followed just about everything TRP teaches in terms of looks - lean muscular physique, straight white teeth, haircut that matches your face, Tiege Hanley the list goes on. Does the ratio suggest that meeting single women will be difficult? Does it matter since women tend to go for top men anyway? How should I look at this?
Maybe my Math background is making me look into this too heavy lol

you're overthinking.
In nearly every big city, there are is overrepresentation of
That is how cities work.

Quite a lot I think.
If it's 100 men for 80 women, then those 80 women will get relationships, and they'll use their leverage to get payment too.
Even if half the women are in relationships, that leaves 60 men to 40 women, so the ratio is worse than it looks.
Yes it's an issue in tech heavy places like SF, Austin, etc. Lots of money and lots of men makes women demand beta provisioning.
There will be more top men
I think it's an issue, but maybe you need to go there and find out

Dude if with all of what you listed about you you dont manage to be in top-men tier, then its just not meant to be.
maybethereisagod15 1w ago
Yes, but I was trying to figure out if that still works in a city tilted like this. I'd assume there are a lot of men that fall into my bracket seeing that I'm sure a lot of these guys that work in these fields are also high earners that workout. I've done well with women in Georgia where I'm currently at and I dont want to give that up

Austin has a lot of good looking women. I was there for 1.5 years. If you're looking for a cope to not try, you're going to find one.

Bro, don't think like a loser. Go there kick ass and pipe down lots of women. I'm sure it will be fine. You make that paper and game those Texas baddies!

You're 100% right, mindset is everything

It affects sexual dynamics
40/60 female to male will result in more selectivity and relationship prevalence
60/40 female to male will lead to more harems
For example.
The greater the ratio the more extreme these social trends. There are studies like this at colleges with more extreme sex ratios

Rings true from my own experience.
When I moved to a college city with 40 men - 60 women ratio, I had women tell me they had a lot of friends who ran into the same problem of men they were dating who were juggling several women, and the girl having hurt her feels because the guy didn't invest and ghost/next her for some other chick.
Top 5% of men can do this even when the ratio is a lot worse - although it's harder, but what happens when the ratio is very favorable is that even only somewhat above average guys start plating women because there's such an abundance.
I've wondered for a long time if that's why a lot of women move out of the large (college) cities back towards their hometowns between 25-30 years old. Because they can't find a man. Whereas a lot of men actually move into the big cities between 30-40 and the gender ratio switches back.

Ratios matter a lot. Even when I go to my dance venues if there happen to be more women on given night (it's usually 50/50 anyway) they get a lot more desperate for me and it's easier.
When there are more men I see women going up to the bar with guys, letting them run game, etc then I'll see the same girl doing the same thing with another guy later if they aren't still on the same guy from before

Naw broseph. Let's not crunch numbers like spergs. Let's just be honest: if a guy has an easy time getting pussy in one metropolitan area, the chances are he's going to have an easy time getting pussy in another area.
Most guys are extremely bland and have no game. 33% of the current male population is having zero sex. So if you're competing with 1000 guys, 330 are already out of the running. A safe bet would be to say that a large chunk of the remainder are going to be beta providers or drunken one night mistakes.
OP is jumping on the express train to Negative town when it sounds like he's got a lot going for him.
Let practice optimism instead of handing out free cope. ????

This is an example form research i read once. Not literal benchmarks
It does happen. Gender imbalance does cause sexual dynamics to change and has been observed on social research settings
I'm not taking about one guy I'm talking about general social trends

Let's get down to brass tax my friend. Is OP going to get laid after moving?
My vote is on yes.
I'm interested in the psychology of this in all truth. I'm also interested in seeing my fellow bros be happy with wet dicks. In this case I think OP will enjoy Austin and some salacious escapades during his time there.

I wouldn't worry about it, maybe you would notice it in some days at the clubs and around a couple neighborhoods.

Does m to f ratio matter? 100% yes. Does it mean a guy like you won’t get laid? No, you’ll still get laid. Does it mean that you’ll have a harder time (not in a good way)? Yes, especially since your competition is tech tycoons. Consequently, you would have more and better options if you were to live in a city with the ratio skewed towards women.
Source: I moved from a place where there’s more women than men to a place where there’s more men than women and while I still get laid it’s definitely worse (my SMV only got better with the move).
Math does matter, you’re not a “sperg” for using it.

Ah damn okay

Here's what you do:
Bribe some local realtors to give you a heads-up whenever anyone moves in or out. Keep a running tally spreadsheet on how many men and women are in the greater Austin area. Don't worry about accounting for whether anyone is married, gay, whatever; only the male/female ratio matters.
In a city that size, this will take up a lot of your time. You may have to quit your TikTok and IG as well as sacrifice your gym time. But at least you'll know the ratio.
As soon as it becomes too unfavorable, sell all your shit and go live in a van down by the river.

Lol man when you put it this way
