I've always had this problem with females, sometimes even with males.
What's the best way to comfort someone without telling them what to do (read somewhere if someone's complaining about something, the worst thing u can do is to give them a logical answer).
For example: a chick is complaining how her she messed up her hair (she didn't she's just emotional dumping) even though nothing change on it. What's the best way to respond?
Can't explain it better, but I hope y'all will understand.

Women want to talk about emotions, or how something made them feel. The topic is irrelevant.

I go with "I understand", then I STFU.

You can't get it right because her complaining won't fix anything. Still females seem to need to do it more than men and seem to benefit from "being heard" So just agreeing usually helps but don't try to fix it all for her or tell her how to unless you really can fixt it with minimal effort. White knight (useful guy) and mansplainer (annoying guy) are pretty much the same guy just she feels different.

Women complain about everything. Get used to it.
Remember that women think emotionally moreso than logically. When a woman tells you something which is quite trivial, she doesn't expect or even want you to offer a solution. She just wants you to listen.
You'll get better at this as you experience more relationships.

Yeah I know, so it's best to say "that sucks"and move on or just to say nothing.

Better her complaining about her hair than her ex.

"Oh you fucked up your hair, what are you gonna do now?" Women complain,a lot.

Chicks complaining: just say "yeah, that sucks".

This is the answer.

Yup...... terrible things to say are
"please tell me more"
or the worst of all.....
"let me fix that for you".
