I have made it a point not to shit where I eat so I do not date coworkers.
However there is this one coworker I got close to some years ago. She used to always want to work with me on projects, bring me food she had made, shared hobbies with me, vouched for me etc. She always initiated and we shared a lot in common but she went to a different dept and we didn't talk as much.
As soon as I put in my two weeks she asked me out one a date outside of work.
My new job is in a different field and city. I don't think we will cross paths professionally.
I do want to get to know her more outside of a professional space. Am I tripping for taking her up on her offer?

If the only reason you have for not doing it is not wanting to shit where you eat (good policy), then why wouldn't you?
Sounds like that won't be a concern anymore so why not go for it? Worst thing that could happen is a bad date no?

You got a green light, stop hesitating and go for it. She kept the door open all this time now she can get some knobbing

It's extremely rare for a woman to ask a man out. She must have very high attraction to you. I'd do it.

how did she find out that you've put in your two weeks' notice?

She processes employee network accounts and my resignation paperwork came through.

Fair enough. It sounds to me like she’s very interested. I couldn’t tell you whether she could mess things up for you career-wise, but that depends of the kind of person she is: technically, any woman that knows where you work can ruin your career, she doesn’t need to be your coworker

A dead giveaway, btw...

Sounds fine. Tell her "hell yes", but be busy and don't move forward much while you share an office.
