I’ve seen both ideas but aren’t they contradictory? If it’s a fuck yes why would she be shit testing you, wouldn’t she make things as easy as possible for you to escalate?

Shit tests are actually fitness tests. My wife is a ride-or-die chick and she's never shit tested me. If you're a woman's best hypergamous option she won't shit test you. She will comfort test you though.
Anyway, if a woman isn't sure you're her best hypergamous option she will test you.

In an LTR it's about maintaining frame. Assuming the relationship began in the man's frame, and he maintains that frame, there shouldn't be shit testing. If an LTR is forever shit tested it's in the woman's frame. This is more common than you might think. When women "settle", typically in their 30s with a beta provider, it slowly shifts to her frame and the shit tests just keep on coming.

It is not about shit test. Girls shit test you early out of interest. They're not making it hard, they're taking a measure of your attractiveness. If you were to next a girl over a shit test, you're doing it wrong.

Not really. Shit tests come early when they're not sold on you yet. If they start coming later, it's usually a bad sign. Testing your boundaries would be something else.

And even when it doesn't work out with a specific woman, that's still a win if the guy is smart enough to realize that he no longer needs to invest time and effort on that specific woman and can just move on to another one.
I keep seeing newbies trying to wrangle the "rules" so that they have a guaranteed paint by numbers shortcut to getting their dick wet with a specific woman that made their pee pee hard. Which is automatically oneitis/overinvesting.

Here's the big problem with most uncalibrated guys. They don't think of context at all. Not everything is a shit test.
Is she spending time in your presence? Does she agree to hang out? These aren't secret formulas or rocket science. There are clear indicators of a woman's interest in her actions. Look at her actions instead of listen to what she says. She wouldn't stick around to shit test if she wasn't interested. She would reject you outright, bail and move on to someone else.
And sorry, some women aren't as easy as others. It's your job to pay attention to her actions and think critically. The sidebar is a set of tools. You use the right tools for the incoming information and vibe.
