So I have been thinking about becoming a sperm donor for years, as it would be a great boost to my economy as a student, but had put it on the shelf while I was in a LTR. Now that I'm single I've been thinking about it again, but I am interested in you guys' perspective.
As a RP follower I know how damaging the single mother parenting is for kids (which I assume is a lot of the sperm bank business), so I've been hestitating about supporting that. I would say that I objectively have above average genetics in basically every area (looks, height, IQ), so I've been clashing the two against each other, logically there are thousands of other sperm donors, so it's not like I could stop the single mothers from becoming parents, but it still feels somewhat unethical to me, to support this. However I also think to myself that the kid would most likely be better off having my genetics rather than most.
TL;DR: Pros: Good genetics, boost to my student economy. Cons: Feeling reluctant to potentially contribute to a single mother household

Don't do it.
Laws change. How can you be sure that you will not become liable for maintenance? Before you say 'that will never happen' just realise that the world has gone made, everything is possible.
Don't do it.
What seems like a good idea now, might not in 5 years time, as the rules and laws get ever more retarded.

It literally says in the contract that you aren't and won't be held liable for anything? Also I live in Europe not the US

"Also I live in Europe not the US"
EUSSR is more socialistic and communistic than the US. So I'm not sure if that should be deemed as positive lol

Overall that's true but in regards to law inequality between the sexes I'd US is 10x more retarded than my country, they can be decently based from time to time

if you think that a contract will protect you, you don't understand how the law works. The judge / courts routinely just 'set aside' contracts as if they had not existed. This is true of pre-nups and many other types of contracts. Contracts are there to make lawyers rich.
The law of the land always supersedes contracts.

I suppose that is a valid concern, although I have a hard time seeing that happen in my country - never say never ig.

Everyone has a hard time seeing it happen, until it happens.
Don't donate sperm.

Ok, picture this.
Your sperm, your donation to create a child.
That child, a boy, raised by 2 raging Feminist Lesbian (moms) with purple hair and covered in tats.
How would that make you feel?

I'd do it. I'd also lie and say I'm a doctor so more women pick my sperm. I doubt single women are going to sperm banks trying to become single mothers. It's usually a couple and they have very specific requirements like they're black and want a black baby, etc. There's some guy who became famous because he sired thousands of children by donating sperm. Anyway, take the money and let other people deal with the sperm.

Hey, haven't seen you in a while. How's it been.
Actually here in europe there are some women that want a child but don't "need" a man. Idk how common that is, but I've seen this a few times on TV.

It's been going good. Torn rotator cuff almost healed, caught up on latest AI stuff, dropped by to see what's going on.
Yeah it's all the rage now for women to say they don't need a man, have a kid, become a single mom, and then complain how hard it is dating as a single mom, raising a kid by yourself, etc. The problem is they don't pay any taxes and rely on welfare which is bankrupting governments all over the world. I think S. Korea was the canary in the coal mine.

Not through a sperm bank and no contract
"The law covering unlicensed sperm donation has always been very clear. Only anonymous sperm donors, at licensed centres, are exempt from being treated as the legal father of a child born as a result of their donation. "This has never applied to men who donate sperm as part of a personal arrangement. Unless the child is legally adopted, both biological parents are financially responsible for their child by law, regardless of whether both their names are entered on to the birth certificate."
Disturbing story nonethe less

...for now. But like Lone Ranger said, laws change.
