I went out with a plate recently and she was walking a step or two behind me. Every now and then i had to stop to let her catch up. Part of me felt like she didnt wanna be seen with me? For the record, Ive NEVER had this issue with women. Im quite attractive physically and tall and dress well. Maybe im looking too much into it?
But if girls walk behind their man, is that generally a sign of "following the leader" or is it maybe something bad? I guess im a bit conscious about it because its the first time we went out together. We met on netflix and usually do netflix and chill.

If its a mine field, you will probably find the smart girls walking behind.
It can be cultural in some traditional cultures but these girls are not into netflix and chill.
Other than that, do a few crazy Ivans and check she is not on her phone messaging her big Chad. This one can be seen surprisingly often.
