i know that i won't become a ufc champion, but i still love my mma practices. i know that i won't be an international-level ballroom dancer, but i still love my social dancing. i know i'm not the best looking, or the brightest guy around. i know i'm unlikely to become rich. i don't feel the need to have a luxurious house and a fast car. i just need a roof over my head, warm food in my belly, good health, good friends, a good woman, to be respected, and to be free to live my life as i see fit. is being average, and being fine with it, a mortal sin for a man?

What is your question? That it's not wrong to wish women weren't hypergamous?

I mean........
It's a purely rhetorical question. No, not a mortal sin, most people have a natural tendency for wishful thinking.
As a practical matter though, it's a sin of practicality. Good luck being
averageinvisible to the kind of women you want unless you grind and try to improve all aspects of your lifeProblematic_Browser 1 1y ago
You can be whatever you want.
Just be okay with the outcomes.

There is nothing wrong with being average, but as long as you're happy in your existence at that then yes, why not be happy if you feel satisfied enough with what life is offering you.
You can always improve though. And even the wildest goals can be accomplished; if you have discipline, you can almost master anything - or at least get some value out of something.

Average man doesn't even practice MMA. Average man has no muscle/doesn't work on themselves in the gym consistently, hell he doesn't work on himself at all. I don't think you realize how weak men are becoming in this generation dude, your perception of average is skewed.
Average also depends on your location. I could make $40k a year (average us salary) remotely, but move to a 3rd world country and I'm in the top (5%) bracket of earners.
For me, I always strived for excellence in the things that interest me the most. In lifting I strive to maintain 10% bodyfat and go up to 12% when bulking, which is already the top 1% in bodyfat level standards. However if I were to compete on stage, I'd have to drop down to 5% bodyfat. Am I average?
Very subjective question you ask.

Lmao, imagine a whole sub dedicated exactly on the topic of how to not be mediocre/average, with step by step guides and knowledge, and you have lazy fucktards seeking approval to be average.
Being average will get you what everyone else has - mediocre life aka loserdom. But again, Paretto's Principle never disappoints.
EurasianChad 1 1y ago
LOL to each their own bro, I ain't gonna sit around and force people to do what they know they need to do.
End of the day, the more people wanna be mediocre, the less competition for me & other dudes who wanna become excellent.

Important thing to remember: On average, we're all average.
One thing I would add though - make sure that you don't hold yourself back. You said 'I know I'm unlikely to become rich' - dont' say that, don't believe that. I have surprised myself in high my income has gone since 'set myself free'. Don't let doubt hold you back.

Average men end up with average women.
The average woman is awful. In the US the average woman is clinically obese and has had multiple sex partners. Although she will deny that she's a feminist, the average woman embraces every aspect of feminism that benefits her, while expecting men to uphold the masculine role that feminism supposedly rejects.
That's what you're signing up for by accepting "average." The good news is that the average man isn't much better, and it's ridiculously easy to get into the top 20% of something that women want.
It's like the joke about the two hikers and the bear. One hiker takes off his hiking boots and starts putting on running shoes. The other hiker says, "You can't outrun a bear." The other guy says back, "I don't have to outrun the bear. I just have to outrun YOU."
You don't have to be awesome at everything. You don't even have to be awesome at anything. You just have be pretty good at something. That's within your reach, and lets you select from above-average women.
Edit: I have a nephew who was on the glide path to be a "failure to launch." Chubby, dorky, unmotivated, plagued by crippling social anxiety, nerdy, provincial, and poor. (I'm not ragging on him... he's a good kid. Given his home environment it's a wonder he's not a complete basket case.) He's now married to a girl who is (although not my cup of tea), above his level. Know what my nephew was good at that got his foot in the door?

wait for it...

World of Warcraft. She's an artsy nerd and they met in-game. He was a Draenei and she was a Night Elf... a match made in Azeroth, apparently. What's more: she pursued him.
AbusiveFather1 1y ago
Wow. Why would she though? Tbh I always believed that these nerdy girls hate their male equivalents and want Chad just the same
lurkerhasarisen 1 1y ago
She seems to have a good head on her shoulders, and she has a couple of things going for her that mitigate against chad-chasing: 1) she's a Christian, and 2) she's not pretty enough to get a Chad's interest, anyway, so it's not like she would have much temptation to deal with.
(Unlike what "Game" gurus say - preferably to gullible paying clients - there are quite a few women who are essentially immune to pickup artistry.)
My nephew's a good kid, and they knew each other in-game for quite a while before they exchanged contact information - and even longer before they met in person - so physical appearances weren't relevant with regard to initial attraction.
Years ago when I used to game I noticed three things about girl gamers: 1) just like with everything else, the best women are good, but plenty of guys are better, 2) having girls tends to interfere with group dynamics, and 3) hypergamy exists online, so girl gamers tend to vie for the attention of raid leaders, guild leaders, etc.

Average compared to what. Focus only on your own life with all the highs and lows and calibrate your efforts according to what you desire your lifestyle to be. Consider saving up a bunch for your elder years if you get there as well.
