let's say there's a girl that is in the maybe category - she kind of likes you but you're not her top option. is it prudent to take this chick to a social venue and use her as social proof to game other women, perhaps even killing 2 birds with 1 stone: meeting new prospects with the maybe-girl's help, and also getting said girl jealous and more invested in you? or is it a bad idea, because the maybe-girl will just sabotage your approaches AND not put out herself?

It sounds like a poor plan. Social proof only works when women see other women that are gagging for you. What they will see is a woman that is your 'friend'. Women are pretty good at picking up body language. If you are not fucking this women, the signs will be there. if that women is not desperate for you, it will be obvious.
