so been working on this chick that works at my fav restaurant. Last week came in w my dog and she comes up puts her arm around me n starts chatting me up (I’m a regular there; they all know me). Let’s slip that she just broke up w her mans; offers to babysit my dog n shit. Literally asks if I live close by. But didn’t fall for thirst trap; also lowkey was in front of a bunch of her coworkers so meh.
Monday night I pop in for dinner and she chats me up again. As I leave, she goes outside and calls after me. We talk a bit boom secure the number. Here’s the convo:
Me: sup short stuff
Her: hey I’m “fun-sized”
Me: hey at least you’re not under 4”10; then you’d be legally classified as a little person (Sidenote: def shoulda said “my favorite ;)” but didn’t wanna come off as a weird fuck)
Her: haha true
Me: you should send bird tomorrow (popular local bar)
Her: send it where?
Me: bluebird obviously
Her: haha I was just giving you shit
Her: “send it”
Me: wow that bird flew right over my head
Her: lol made it more fun
Me: it’ll be even more fun if you come to bird ;)
Her: haha I’ll do my best

To be fair I’ve been going to this restaurant like 3-4x+ a week for the past 4 years or so. Ik everyone by name they all know me by name. Get what you’re sayin ab it being viewed as chasing but it’d almost seem like I’m butthurt if I stop showing up to my spot over it ahaha.
Maybe next time I go I’ll show up with an absolute rocket just to apply a lil pressure. Tbh went last night too and one of the bartenders mentioned she was talking about me ;)

If it's physically obvious that there's a decade age difference between you two then all you have to do is not act like a complete idiot; there's not much you can do besides that because whether or not you'll smash is truly her call. If y'all were around the same age it'd be different. I agree with Test also, don't buy her any drinks. Also: why did you not re-address her dog sitting invite? I would have texted something like: "you promised to watch my dog and we don't break promises over here; Cujo needs you on these days ___.
