Impossible to tell if she's interested or 'just working the customers'. Just be aware that she gets offers of sex several times a night. Do you think she wants to bang you? Do you want to bang her?

personally, I don't think I would pursue this line of enquiry. It's almost not fair to hit on bar staff / waitresses. I have done it in the past and gotten a few kills, but for the main, you're just annoying them while they are at work.

Also - if they are just working the tips - they flirt harder with guys that they think are 'losers' - so just remember that.

Maybe, I had the same thing happen to me a month ago when I was out with my buddy but I don’t like to hit on chicks who are being paid to serve me. I just said she didn’t look like she belonged there (pretty chick in a metal-scene bar with Pantera blasting in the background and some typical tattooed guys around). We chatted for a split second and she gave my buddy and I a free shot. My friend even said to ask her out but again, in that situation I’d take her being friendly as a service gesture unless she’s being a little more upfront than that like asking what I’m doing later or whatever. Plus, I dig that bar so I don’t want to be “outlawed” over there.

Since she didn’t charge me and I had cash, on the next drink I got I gave her twice the drink cost since I got a free drink already and I was basically saving the tips from those two drinks. She said “thanks baby, I’m (I forget her name), what’s your name?” I told her and she shook my hand.

This is partly why you get free drinks..... increased tips for the staff.

She's being paid to be nice you, don't forget that. She's primarily paid through tips. Instead of the money going to the bar for a drink it goes to her for tips. Personally, I'd fire her. Maybe she can get away with it if she only does it here and there or else bills it to another customer. I'll just warn you that bartenders see it all. They get asked out 20x/night.
