For various reasons which I won't mention I have never kissed a girl. I am currently in my first year of college and I am wondering if this will hurt my chances of hooking up. Can you go straight to sex or will that be off putting?

Don't worry about it. Kissing is instinctual.
I had never kissed a girl until the age of about 18. I was at a club with my friends, some drunk girl came up to me, started dancing and then kissed me. I was completely anxiety ridden as I'd never done it before but as soon as our lips met, it was like I just instantly knew what to do.
Funny story - I ended up completely fucking that one up. I went full bloopie, and said to her I hoped it was good because I'd never kissed someone before. Needless to say she left and I never saw her again.
Just roll with it. Fake it til you make it, and don't go full bloopie like I did and act all needy and insecure.
