Alright lads, I scored a date with a cute girl (provided she doesn’t flake of course) and I managed to pick a somewhat cheap pub, but this being London, I will only be able to buy 2 pints at best.
How can I make this date work? My plan is to buy one round, then tell her it’s her turn. But the question still remains that best case scenario we would have to take a taxi to my house, which I definitely won’t be able To pay even if we split the uber.
Thoughts? Should I just have 2-4 drinks with her and call it a night without trying to fuck? Help a brokeboy out

Imply it in advance.... "I'll get the first round".
Dude, you really need to sort your shit out.

For a student, thats quite a high budget! I would try and make a feature of it, rather than try and hide it... instead of going to some shit noisy pub, why not level with her ... just say "I'm down to my last £20 until payday - lets get a nice bottle of wine and listen to some music at mine - can watch a movie if you prefer" If she turns her nose up at that, then maybe she's not worth the chase.
Is this someone you found on OLD? then she would be wise to meet you in a public place first, to check that you are not a weirdo. The best way to do that would be to arrange to meet up for coffee during the day. Then you can have a 20 min chat, and see how it goes. if that's ok - then proceed to a walk in the park after work hours - if that goes great, then you can introduce the concept that you have only £20 and you can get a bottle of wine.
Forget ubers and taxi. take public transport. you set the tone for your dating on the first date - if its ubers on the first date, she'll be expecting that forever more.
I sometimes think that dudes price themselves out of the dating market. they think that they need to spend £150 on a speculative date - which might not even result in action. that's fucked up. if there are any women reading this and wondering 'where have all the good men gone, why won't anyone take me out of a date???' The reason is that expectations have made it too expensive. Esp given the uncertain outcome.

Thank you, it was yesterday tho. She was a very nice and humble girl, only got 1 soft drink and nothing else, so I only ended up spending 5 lol. Wasn’t attracted to me at all though

Firstly, don't put too much pressure on yourself to impress her with expensive things. Focus on having fun and getting to know each other. Here are some suggestions to make this date work within your budget:
Consider meeting up earlier in the day to enjoy a low-cost activity like visiting a museum or park.
Instead of buying rounds at the pub, consider sharing a bottle of wine or splitting a jug of beer which can be more cost-effective than buying individual drinks.
If you want to have more drinks, suggest finding a cheaper bar or pub nearby where the two of you can continue chatting.
Take public transportation instead of an uber. It's less expensive and very common in London.
Suggest going for a walk after your drinks instead of taking a cab. Walking is free and can provide great opportunities for conversation.
Remember, what matters most is making a connection with your date, not how much money you spend. Be confident and have fun!

Good to see you again whytehorse. Yeah i’ll check those options.
I’m not really desperate to fuck her even if there’s no connection, I’m just taking the date as practice and trying to come up with an option if things go well. I never buy expensive things for girls, so that’s no issue. But i think it’s polite to buy her a drink at least.
I think I can just about fit the drinks in my budget. The issue is getting home.
The pub is kind of far from my place so we would have to take the bus, but I would feel embarrassed saying that lol.
Or alternatively, I can ask her to go to her place, which is much nearer, so probably the best option, but she might say no cause of housemates, etc.

Next time: bring her to Greggs, they usually have 4 sausage rolls for £1 near closing time. They are small, but you can show your generosity by letting her have 3. Then whip out a couple of cans of Johnny Sainsburys own label larger. For desert, a pack of jaffa cakes. Play some romantic music on spotify (you can get premium on trial and then cancel later) on your mobile, and kindly let her put one of the ear buds in her ear while you sit on the park bench, in the London drizzle.

Had a laugh picturing this. That’s the vibe I go for tbh but a lot of girls say they want me to “make an effort” (be the paypig simp I guess), which I view as a disqualifier. I don’t mind treating her if we’re close but if they demand it it’s over.

Yeah if I recall from when I was a teenager and had the same prob I'd just get some weed or a pint of cheap alcohol and then go fuck in a park, lol. It's really all about the experience and not the money.

Now that sounds like a date!
