I'm currently in the market for a home, and this is something I've started to notice. Is it an easy occupation, ergo women flock to it, like they tend to do in HR jobs? It makes sense that most healthcare workers for example are female since that field suits their nature, but I'm curious as to why this is the case with realtors/agents. If I asked anywhere else, all I'd get is a bunch of BP normie fluff about equality or whatever.

Women are interested in people while men are interested in things. This explains why there are sex disparities in many occupations.

Most people trust women easier than they trust men. This is partly instinct, and partly conditioning.
Women therefore have an easier time being successful in sales fields.

Women dominate low-ticket sales, men dominate high-ticket sales. This applies not only to real estate but to sales in general.
If you were searching for a luxurious home in the high-end real estate market, your experience would be the opposite. It is likely that you would encounter well-groomed men driving expensive cars, trying to convince you to spend over $1M on a property.

way back, more women have been realtors. It is a great job for a woman with kids.
It's treated as a part time job by many women, mostly nights, weekends, the husband gets home, takes care of kids and she shows a few houses.
Lots of women realtors approach it this way, some who are good, or during good times (hot markets), will work full time, get day care, and work hard. Real estate business has boom/bust cycles, the normal periods are not very demanding for realtors.
toughest part of realtor business is getting buyers and sellers lined up.
Lot of women, have their network group of other women and that's how they get some sales. A friend of friend, etc.
Now, finding a realtor (man or woman), who actually is worth that sales commission, is a different story.

Because there’s no manual labor involved in the job.
