In stead of framing it as "I need to get hard", frame it as "she needs to get me hard". It's her job to get you hard, just like it's your job to get her wet. If she isn't wet, that's your failure. If you aren't hard, that's her failure. Internalise that. Tell her what to do if what she's doing isn't working.

I think there's a lot of biological factors at play. Sights, smells, sounds, tactile response, etc. Your instincts can kick in and prevent you from mating. Seems logical it mostly occurs the first time you get with a chick. There's this cheap soap some people use in Asia which I hate and sometimes you'd get a street whore smelling like it. Ew. Not getting hard for that. I also can't get hard for chicks with short hair.
