past 2 girls I've been seeing both said/asked me about this. I don't remember what I said to the first (was in person) and yet to respond to the text of the latest one.
I see this as an absolute mine field to respond to. I feel like it comes from a place of genuine insecurity so not sure whether standard game techniques would work.
What are some ways to respond without shit blowing up in my face?

I have no idea man. You could say "I'm an alcoholic it's not you" but then..
Or you could say "You're just so pretty I get nervous so I drink" but that's not so good either.. maybe better, but not great.
I don't there is a super good way. Why are you drunk when you go with girls?
