if yes, then say nothing except (I want my lawyer)
if no, then walk away, if they say they need to talk to you, ask for the lawyer again.

Just wanted to share a resource. I already have this in mind: am I being detained, no? Walk away if the police say yes ur being detained the least you can do is call a hotline to get some legal assistance. A simple "My pardons, Ma'am. I meant no disrespect." with a shit-eating grin goes a long way to defuse the situation, particularly if you are completely unfazed by the assault. In the bodega worker assault where the shopkeeper was attacked by a local gangster thug after refusing a sale to a woman who's EBT card failed, joined her boyfriend in assaulting the worker, covering his body with large deep knife-wounds, but wasn't charged, because... of absolutely no legitimate reason. The elderly hispanic man stabbed the gangster to death in self-defense but was initially charged with murder and held at rikers until community protests convinced the DA to drop charges.

Unless she COULD kill you, don't bother. Leave it the area. Anyone observing you defending yourself from a woman, no matter how justified, is going to interpret the situation as you assaulting them and will respond accordingly
