Some time ago I met my acquaintance that was doing something for me while I hung around. His woman/wife appeared. I met her first time then. As it was cold she offered to me a brew being very polite and advertising new brew she just found in the shop. I thanked and rejected to avoid dealing with her, but later accepted under pretence that it gets cold and she advertised product more. It was late winter.

The guy is all the time around.

I have hawt factor better than him.

Now he has to nip out for 20min to get something from the shop. That would leave her with me and noone around really.

They guy goes to the car and comes back for her under some obvious false pretence. Then I realise.

So extreme options are, being chatty and polite, or saying no to offer and even turning your back to a woman [if possible].

Where do you see the balance as one can be seen as flirting and other rude and the most important thing here is to be on good terms with acquaintance.
