I deactivated my Instagram about a month ago and I am now considering getting back on it. This time, however, I am deciding to unfollow everyone I do not know or haven't met before and only follow those that I do know. Before I would care about my follower count and how many likes I received on my posts as forms of social proof. I now realize that these views I had stemmed from insecurity and a need for validation. Is this the right way to go about it? Or should I just abstain from the app completely?

Use instagram for social proof and preselection. Think of it like a gossip machine for women. Instead of gossiping with other women, they get on instagram and look at your photos, likes, followers, etc. It's very easy to fake. I think you can buy thousands of followers for like $20. You can get all kinds of photoshop crap going on, take photos at fancy hotels, get a photo with a hottie, stuff like that.

I look to use it now to follow people that motivate me to be a better man. People such as David Goggins, Jocko Willink, and Joe Rogan. Sure the SMV aspect is there but I just don't want to care about it anymore. I never had a large amount of followers and never enjoyed posting pictures of myself anyway. My online presence shouldn't dictate who I am as a person.

You can set your own frame if you can hold it.
Buy followers, exchange insta and number with girl and say you don't respond to DM as it is not on your phone.
Apparently Inst is biggest dating app now.
