Context:
I am 21 years old, and in the middle of next year I will start raising money from outside investors to open my hedge fund. At this point, it's not smart to hire someone from Public and Investor Relations so I'll be the one selling myself and convincing investors to provide the capital.
In the last few months I have enrolled in a number of activities (which I still attend) to get out of my comfort zone, such as dance, acting and public speaking classes, but I need something more effective to accelerate the process and become much more outgoing and dominant.
I welcome feedback.

Practice. Talk to everyone. Yes, even those who don't add as much value to you.
After you are comfortable enough, you can sart sieving out and remain with valuable contacts.

I know its the usual speil but lift, do some boxing, get into jiu jitsu.
The confidence you get from knowing how to fold a man in half or defend yourself when confronted is priceless and translates to any interaction. Its also great for thinking on your feet and problem solving. Increased testosterone means your more likely to take risks and display dominance behaviours.

Thank you for your response. The Jiu Jitsu option is something I will definitely explore.

Literally implement DGAF. Its one of the maximum cheatcodes to conquer the world.
When u have true DGAF, u literally become the man u want to be and achieve exactly what he could achieve.
Lots of practice: you have to go out there and commit lots of mistakes aswell

Nobody is going to give a 21yr old man money for a hedge fund. I don't care what kind of game or social dominance you have. I can't even get people to give me money as an experienced stock trader in his mid 40s. Plus it's not even legal to trade other people's money without all the proper licenses. I make enough trading my own money that IDGAF about other people's money. Are you like me? Do you have a huge portfolio to show these people and years of experience? If so, then nobody will give you their money anyway. Maybe if you're associated with a big company like JD Edwards then yeah but they pay peanuts.

Not true, Im 21 started trading 2 years ago and I had times where i was trading for people, still managing some money If you re smart, know to trade or just sell yourself, definitely achievable to get money if you know some guys with money to invest
When giving money to you people give cause you look smart or got some business experience ...

You cannot trade securities for others without becoming licensed as an investment professional. Investment professionals must be registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission or have a federal license. There are few exceptions to this rule.

This right here.
NOBODY WITH MONEY is going to give a kid real money to invest. This is almost laughable.

Just curious, by how much do you typically beat the stock market (for example the S&P 500)?
whytehorse2021 4y ago
I don't beat the stock market, per se. I make more than a managed fund because I don't have to pay a manager. I make more than the typical stocks/bonds boomer portfolio because I sell options. I'd say I'm at 20% returns as opposed to SPY at 9%.

I'm sorry that's your case, but it's not mine or that of other peers close to my age who have successfully launched their own funds, mainly private equity. Through family and friends I have already secured seed capital.

You can't invest other people's money without a broker license. I mean you can technically but if the SEC finds out you're up shit creek. I'm going to be laughing my ass off when you get your first regulation T call and come back here asking how to get out of it.

Hedge funds are not broker-dealers... A hedge fund is always a distributor acting on behalf of the fund, not the clients.
