Been in an LTR for about a year. This relationship has so far worked out great for me and I don't want to end it over this - however it would be nice to be able to bang other chicks regardless (for variety/novelty), with no strings attached. No, cucking a woman is different. What you're talking about is removing sexual exclusivity from an exclusive relationship. It's how my marriage is. Let's avoid cuck terminology. Men and women are different.
Yes, you can convert a LTR into an Open LTR, but it's hard because women see you as a provider. They see you as exclusive and "mine". They don't want to lose the sexual control and security that it gives them.
It's hard.
Basically you need to renegotiate your relationship, which is basically "look girl, I want to be with you, but I want to fuck other women on the side". Most women will simply not accept this. You might have to end things.
The trick is to always be in an open LTR right from the start.
